BETTER THAN BRITISH AIRWAYS? Vueling Economy Exit Row - London Gatwick-Barcelona Flight Review

- Vueling is the Spanish low cost arm of IAG and operates a wide range of routes across Europe including many from it's base at London Gatwick Airport's South Terminal.
Join me today as I fly from London Gatwick (LGW) to Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) having booked with British Airways Holidays. Is Vueling's economy better than British Airways? It's certainly a lot better value! I paid extra to upgrade to an Emergency Exit Row seat (seat 14A) and had priority boarding. In this trip report, I also visit the No 1 Lounge, Gatwick South and give my thoughts on this airport lounge which I accessed via priority pass. The lounge was serving breakfast at the time I visited.

Cool style of shooting and narrating! We're flying Vueling to BCN in a few days, so this is a nice warm-up.
Nice catch of the plane's arrival as well!
New sub here, keep it up! ✈
Why thanks very much for your kind words and subscription. If you’re flying back with Vueling too I’d really recommend the Sala VIP Miro lounge in Terminal 1… was very pleasantly surprised with the food and drink offering!
Wonderful job with the video (+1 sub) and Vueling seemed to have done a pretty decent job on your flight. Similar experience here when I flew with them return between Paris Orly and London Gatwick. One thing to know is that if you book Vueling with a BA codeshare flight number, and you're BA Gold, then you can access the BA Galleries Lounge at Gatwick.
From one aviation CZcamsr to another, well done 👍🏻😎
Thanks for the comment (and subscription) Matt & great tip about the BA Lounges! Yes overall it was a good experience and although Vueling is never going to be on anyones bucket list, I wouldn’t hesitate to fly with them again in a similar situation in the future.
Good video.
Thanks very much Oliver!
Why do you sound like the pilot on the plane? 😂😂😂😂
Love it
Thanks… i think 🤣
@tipsy_travel no seriously. Your voice over sounds like a pilot.
What was the flight time
Good video, we’re flying with Vueling to Barcelona on Friday. Always flown with them and never had a problem. Don’t know why they get so many negative reviews.
Thanks Andrew! Wishing you a great flight and trip to Barcelona! If you’re flying back with Vueling from BCN T1 I would recommend checking out the Sala VIP Miro lounge, I was really impressed!
How can you dare to make such a positive review based on just one trip? Even with this horrible airline, if you travel 5 times, you might have quite happy experience for 4 of them. When you suffered once, you would know how evil are they!
Ultimately you can only review based on your experience and almost all CZcams trip reports are based off a single journey. You can’t possibly expect a CZcams to essentially make a video 5 times before they publish a review!
wwwwwwwww🍪
Bro chill. They’re really not *that* bad it’s just crappy legroom. Not sure what horrible experience you had.
No Vuelling is not better than BA, not even close. I personally like Vueling but it is not in BA’s league but they do beat Iberia and even Lufthansa, Airfrance and KLM on quality and they do beat BA on price. So if price is a factor, go Vueling. Or if your stuck due to location with Air France, Lufthansa and KLM then Vueling is a no brainer and the better option.
