  • Now, we explore the Albigensians. Much like the Waldensians who remained true to God's word, the Albigensians had a similar faith based in Southern France. During the reign of Pope Innocent III, at the start of the 13th century, numerous groups were persecuted, and in particular the Albigensians. Over a 20-year period, the Pope attempted to wipe out the faithful, Bible believing worshippers in Southern France.

      to consider "The records of the Inquisition and the writings of Anna Comnena have imposed the idea of the Bogomil Church as a wellstructured organization. In reality, the picture was quite different... How, and to what extent, the Albigensian branch of Bogomilism changed so profoundly as to appear a unified heretical Church is quite another question..."

    I just discovered your CZcams channel from Dustin of Hope through Prophecy channel. I love your work and the information you give. I went from episode 1 to episode 18 tonight, and I can’t wait to watch the rest. I am French and I didn’t even know about the events that happened in Béziers. They don’t teach this kind of historical events at school. But that shows that it is always good to learn for ourselves. I only make videos in English for now on my channel but I plan to make videos in French in the future, and if you need translation I can help you with it. There is such a need in France to learn the truth!

    The Biblical sect of the Medieval period was the Waldensians not the Albigensians. Neither should have been persecuted but the Albigensians were Gnostics, or if you prefer Dualists. As such they would not have held to a proper view of the incarnation which is the foundation of the Christian religion.

      @rev.stephena.cakouros948 Před 2 měsíci

      @@aufschalke Your comment amounts to an intentional insult of the Christian. It really doesn't deserve a lengthy response. That you wish peace upon Jesus yet deny the fact that He fulfilled prophecy when He died on the cross, Isaiah 53, Daniel 9:26, Zechariah 12:10 etc., can only mean that peace was not upon your prophet who followed the Gnositc Basiledes when in the Koran he said that Jesus found a substitute who died in His place .The death of Jesus is history. Deny it and you live a lie. Worse yet you are left without a SAVIOR.
      Why do you think the Jews avoid Isaiah 53 in public readings? And why do you deny its meaning? Because you refuse to admit what it says, namely that Jesus would die on the cross and even rise from the dead, Psalm 16;8-11.

    I am a French descendant of one the leading warlord fighting against the crusaders... I am sorry to say that your report miss the whole point of this crusade which had almost nothing religious motive despite what it is said but was in fact highly political.
    It was because there was a local political and military opposition to the pope and moreover the king of France, who had no real power in the area until then, that the crusade took place.
    Moreover it contains inaccuracies and even false statement like the famous "kill them all, God will know his own" attribuated to Arnaud Amaury. No serious historian believe today it is true as Arnaud Amaury was warned of the fall of Beziers ...AFTER the fall.
    It is a very complex topic that would have deserved better treatment than just a manichean fairy tale for kids.

  • @exploringspiritualityourselves

    Very interesting - thanks for sharing. Paulo Coelho's saying that "The world is changed by your example, not your opinion" was exemplified by the Cathars. Though the Church characteristically obsessed about their beliefs and denounced them as "heretical", it was the Cathar way of life, not their doctrine that attracted people: living examples of people who sought to sincerely follow the teachings of Jesus. The second striking feature was that way that women, whose spirit was so stifled by the Church, were given their spiritual voice in the Cathar priesthood. If anyone is interested in exploring this further, we have produced a video on CATHAR WOMEN: czcams.com/video/i5qnkGpJm6A/video.html

Their identity was savagely destroyed by the Albigensian Crusade and by the Inquisition years after, and what I mean is that while the Crusade was a real thing that happened, there are some historians that argue if Cathars existed or not due to how they got thoroughly eradicated by the Church, which was highly corrupt back then. And whatever remains are just people who perverted Cathar ideals, and those are a very teensy tiny minority. A grim reminder of how horrific this massacre was.
