Wife's family had 2 Mavs, a red 1970 and a blue 1972, both 6 cyl. Always liked them.
I had a 1971 Maverick in high school, one of the cars that I would love to have back! Mine had a 302 with a 3 on the tree, later became a 4 in the floor. Other than duel exhaust, the transmission, Cragar wheels and tires she was stock, but a real head turner.
Nice build, this looks great all said and done.. Love the Maverick, great color and decals.

Nice kit! My late sister owned a well-used Maverick back in the late 1980s. It had the straight six motor. She had trouble with it stalling every few miles. Though when Dad and I drove it, it ran fine. 😊 She lost it in an accident, totalled. She switched to a Nissan Sentra after that.

Awesome build ! I’m a huge Maverick guy too ! I have had 8 or 9 over the years . My parents had a brand new Comet Gt when I was a kid . Wish I could share pics on CZcams. I also collect all the Jo-Han Maverick and Comet kits . Have built several kits. Hoping to get one of these kits . You definitely nailed the paint scheme . The details on this kit are great . Great build Louie! I had a similar 1970 Maverick to your 1969-1/2 in the darker green metallic
The build looks amazing. Really cool color choice. I think Mavericks and Comets are so cool and I love their body style. I wish I could afford to buy one, but maybe the Moebius Maverick is a bit more affordable, if it even gets released ever.

🎉Nice review, nice AM Mav. history! If I were to do a stock build I would bend up the rear valance. For some reason they were always like that in the little No. Cal town I grew up in. Not sure I can grabber one of these, but rumour has it the JoHan pro stock will be coming out - hope so since i've got Slixx sheets waiting. Great build - one tip when cutting out vac. Windows is use sharpie to mark guide line, then rough cut one you're doing from others, then use good scissors and trim excess up to sharpie line. Well done chassis additions - that kit got to go to a good home!

I got them from dollar tree. The brand is crafters choice.
I wish he would've included an engine in the kit.
HEY-DAR 👊😎👍: I've seen a couple reviews on this already but your the first I seen build it. Is that just regular craft paint black your brushing down before the flocking powder? Does that flocking stay in place? I've never flocked because LOL 😂 Be Watching You Later, (MODEL CAR)🎭(MAN CAVE)
Yes just Apple Barrel brand paint. Work great as a “glue” to hold the flocking down

What kind of marker are using for the white letters on the tires? (brand, size, etc.)
It’s a Crafters square brand. I got them at the dollar tree.
Also jell pens are good too

I didn’t get very far. I went down with a friend to enlist, when the time came for the medical exam, they took my buddy and sent me home. I was pretty upset. My father said I still have my navy gear.
