What would you need to study in college to major in pi? Hows the salary?

A college degree would help but most states don't require a degree. Mine does not, if you have no experience they make you take a exam.

There’s no required college degree to become a PI, you can become a PI with a high school diploma. However, if you are planning on attending a college or university I highly recommend studying in criminal justice. Salary really depends on where you are located. I know I’m late with this comment but I figured I’d say something better than nothing.

Do private investigators get paid enough? and is it difficult to find a case?

Great question. Private investigators charge a variety of rates depending on the type of case and where they are located. Their are cases of all kinds that need investigating. It comes down to networking and business development skills.

Can I specialize in finding missing people as a pi or would I have to go to college and try and work for state or local police department

If you want to finding missing people as a PI you don’t need to go into law enforcement. You can work with a PI firm, obtain training and then get your own PI license. What state are you in? Let me know.

I would assume advanced IT skills are needed for a career like this
