I love that she retired when she was on top. Too many of these people who achieve Superstar status don't know when to stop as they get older. When I think of her I think of a ball of energy belting out a song!

She performed the final night of her tour in Sheffield…. No big fuss about “Farwell tours” or maudlin nostalgia…. she does the show, hopped on her jet and went home with a casual, “ by the way, that was my last show”….. befitting a rock n roll queen.
I have a 40 year love for this lady. Her elegance, her eloquence, her talent, her spirit, her perseverance... Tina embodied all of the best of what it means to be human. I feel like a part of me is gone. She was so much more than the music. She was the inspiration of my life. I miss her now and always will. Goodbye, my love, until we meet again down the river.

I saw both Tina and Madonna in concert in '87. For Madonna, the experience was not much better than if I had stayed home listing to her on my stereo. Tina, on the other hand, was just wow!

There are no words in any language to express the sorrow at the loss of this iconic woman.😢. I was blessed to not only see her in concert but when she came out on a lift she allowed me to touch her foot and ran her hand over mine with that award winning smile. I was very disappointed with the HBO documentary - it spent way too much footage on the abusive relationship with Ike and hardly enough on her subsequently amazing solo career. And both she and Erwin were involved of course in the production which I completely didn’t understand. She was so much more than an abused woman - her courage, determination, belief in herself was so much more.

I am not one to get star struck but if I were standing in front of Tina Turner, I would weep. Her performance with Beyonce, all I can see is I saw no one but Tina. Beyonce might have well as been one of the numerous background dancers. Ms. Turner still has the most beautiful legs there has ever been. A living legend.

While on stage you can see the fun that also went into her concerts. I was treated to a Tina Turner concert in Toronto, Canada and as I said she was amazing ! I sooo enjoyed her concert and I left that evening feeling energized and young again. I loved Tina Turner and was very saddened to hear of her passing. See I grew up as a poor white Canadian, one of four kids that ended up in a home after their mother left in Indian Head Saskatchewan. My father listen to all sorts of music and I think I tried to be like hopefully his favourite which I wasn't but I was the one out of five kids that loved the music you listen to. One of my favourites was Tina Turner which I did not discover until the 80s when I was a 18 19 year old. To this day I think she is awesome beautiful and talented. Music has no colour it's just great music

She's always been a good person. If you go back and read what others have written about working with her over her entire career, you will never hear a bad word about her. Even her children and step children. When they made her they broke the mold.
I agree with you mostly but.... Her children have said quite a bit about being hurt that she won't have a relationship with them. The only one she was even semi close to was Craig and he's passed on now. Even the son she has with Ikr has said she doesn't speak to him or see him and her stepchildren who said she was the only mother they ever knew have said she won't speak or see them....
They said she said she just wanted to forget anything having to do with Ike, even them. And I know she was horribly abused but that's the children's fault and it must really hurt. I still think she's a wonderful woman and performer but that doesn't mean she's perfect and hasn't hurt anyone.
Two sides to every story. She basically took care of them until they were grown. She may have gotten tired of being the cash cow for grown adults. Some accounts say the son she had with Ike struggled with drugs and she would help him when he hit rock bottom. All her sonss suffered as the result of their traumatic childhood no doubt.

I have never been a die-hard Tina fan earlier in her career, but after reading I Tina's book in the 80's and then the movie although inbellished gives you an insight into what was going on, then interviews,Kennedy center Honors..etc...I can't get enough just because of her strength &will to take something &make nothing from herself ever since her childhood!! Just obstacle after obstacle. She literally left Ike with 36cents and a gas card and had to reinvent herself all over again @40 yrs old!!! Who has the wherewithal to even began to find the strength to do that!? She deserves to live out the number of her days however she wants and I pray for her longevity as well 🙏🏽We got to witness "the hardest working woman in show business"during our lifetime. There will Never!! Be another Tina Turner or even close just because today's generation are not built like this!!! Period.
