i used to have small stutters, but after this my game runs butter smooth, thanks dude!
In CS:GO and other games as well it's often beneficial to not use your main core/threads because most apps on your PC will use that core/threads already, making it slow. I did a lot of testing in GO and the most FPS that I could get was using the threads 8, 10, 12 and 14. So only 4 out of my 16 threads. I have not done any testing with cores/threads in CS2 but I'm sure it's different because the Source 1 and 2 engines are different and I think Source 1 could only utilize 4 threads properly so probably the more threads the better in CS2.
i forced cs2 to use my 8 p-cores and now my frametimes are PERFECTY fine - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

Thank you very much!! I have a R5 5600 (12/6 cores) and my CS was using only 5 cores.... and now I'm using all 6 main cores and I've noticed a little increasement on my 99%fps amount (something about 15~~25% improvement at the 99% fps stats). And now I have more regular frames showing on my screen (99%fps amount is almost the screen frequency amount (165Hz in my case). So now I have ~165 - 170 of 99% FPS at ~165Hz. Much more smoother.

my old ass 4790 was pulling hardly 120-150 fps, with threads set to 8 its 160-180 now. thank you so much dude

hmm you did the opposite as stated in the tutorial, in the video the guy sets the number of threads pool equal to the value of physical cores +1, and you set the number of all cores, including virtual (HT)

Unfortunately the problem right now isn't framerate, I played GO on 80 fps for a long long time and now at 140fps it feels delayed like I'm getting my information half a second later than anyone else.
It’s because of sub tick I think it relies more off of your WiFi connection and instant inputs

If u have Windows 10 Pro and Struggle with an avg GPU from around 2014-2017 just try to enable Gaming Mode in Windows. I have a i7 6700k gtx 1080 and had from 20-90fps but even with 90 it feeled of but with that enabled it runs so smooth
Kind of late but I think it's more on your processor I have a 1660S a worse card and I get around 140-150 in 5v5

Yeah, thank you for this video, it's really helpful. Still, it sucks that the game is not yet optimized as well as it should be. I've been doing so many tricks to get it to run better but it's getting to a point where it's simply so annoying. I'm really curious to know what is your opinion on the fact that they are going to play competitive, e-sports matches, on this unfinished game. As always, love the content.
They have to. Only way to polish it out completely is to playtest n playing at pro level is one of those tests
if you have a good pc this game is for you unlike mine so garbage pc or low pc.. its wasting time to play this game because end of the game u going to get many problems like hit registry, lag and bad team too. my advised dont play this game.

I have a decent pc and I can run the game at about 130 fps on medium settings but still, I can't play CS on my laptop anymore which sucks a lot when I am on the go.

I feel the same way, I gave up playing cs2. I had no problem running csgo, but cs2 gives me so much stutter lag and fps issues
Please do not make videos about things you dont know about, threads and cores are to different things, when you are using 16 threads you are using all of the performance cores, and not any efficiency cores, since p cores have two threads per core
so if you want to use them all, you should put the threads number as ((no. of p cores x 2) + (no. of e. cores)) + 1 ?
What do you recommend I do if I only have 2 threads?
That saved me, had bad performance and some drops with i9 12900 and rtx 3060ti, so I can achieve over 200 fps and 144 using v-sync, fixed and smoothly!
You sure that the engine threads pool means cores and not actual threads? It's pretty confusing since it says threads not cores.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed. I can tell you, I have 10 cores and threads. I used 12 and it still works, so I'm assuming it's actual threads.

cap, core 0 is mainly used for your operating system. This will cause more crashes than less especially if you are using -high in launch options as it could starve resources to windows

hi n1 video i use 13700k with -threads 9 (all p-cores) run like a charm after i set dwm.exe to Realtime priority in Processlasso if someone want to do this without Processlasso u can with taskmanager but need to do it after every restart if u like it dont forget helps windows11 only and intel 12/13/14 gen

thanks for the video, I have a xeon cpu with 18 cores and 36 threads, I didn't see any improvements so I will just refrain from using this command, I noticed more stutters tho, using more threads must mean there's an increase in delay on the information exchanged between cores

This is all done automatically by using Game mode in Windows 10/11. it will park cores that are unused and enable the optimal cores for the particular application in use. Let me give you an example. A 7950x3d has 16 cores spread over two CCDs (8C/16T per CCD), but only one CCD has the L3 cache. (CS2 loves L3 cache). So what happens when you have game mode enabled on windows is that the cores not in use (non L3 CCD cores), will get parked, and CS2 will use the others. However if a game or application is using ALL of the cores/threads, it won't park them. It's all automated. Same with the higher core intel chips.

but cs2 is dying a ton of people still have the game crash problem , that includes me sometimes its 1 crash a game , other times it's 3 crash a game
sometimes after 1 crash i don't get crash in the next 2 games it's so fucking frustrating to play this game with those crashes
for people that don't know it freezes the game , you can see your ctrl alt del window , but i fixed that so i put that window when it pops up to be in the front
but the fact the crash happens messed up your game/round and when it's a regular occasion it's maddening to play
weird part is this never happened in csgo only in cs2
look at csgo’s history…when it first was released it was shit like cs2 is now…they rush to release when it’s not ready and take forever to bring it up to par…i hope we do see new content in q1 2024, but also remember if your pc or laptop is on the older side you may just have to upgrade
Bro did you check your core temperatures ? I feel your core temperatures are too high to make it crash.... Install hwinfo and monitor core temperatures as soon as game crashed

I put it at first to 4; and got already 20-30fps+ =)
And when i set it 8 threads it still is better. But 9 threads made me lag :P

Maybe you shouldn't try this, surely there's a reason why CS2 (or any other game) doesn't use every single one of your CPU cores by default...
no one has had any issues so far that i know of...keep in mind too computers can handle background processes without these cores or just kill them entirely so i dont see it causing issues...

Your processor has multi-threading, it must be a quad-core which has hyper-threading, meaning instead of 4 cores and 4 threads, it has 4 cores and 8 threads.

AMD is better anyway, for gaming in general. Just get a 7800X3D and watch FPS go up all over the board. If you play with 15 bots you'll also see FPS tank, regardless of CPU.

i have 12700kf, Hyper-Threading is off in CS 2 im using -threads 13 in Warzone its 7, i was testing a lot variants and for this two games this is is best with Hyper-Threading off

are you sure that thread means core? Have you tested setting the value to all threads instead of all cores ?
i was tested, best fps is when you do like this guy, or write only your P cores, without E cores. only turn off Hyper-Threading.
