- I did visit Prague for 2 weeks, and I had a weekend for myself where I did visit the real life locations from Kingdom Come Deliverance. I had a great experience, and would love to come back next year when all the leafs have returned to the trees and it doesnt get dark so soon! Enjoy! :)
Only shots of the KCD BETA forests. Unfortunately these great looking forest ate cut from the actual game, but lets hope the modding tools get them back!

The Sasau Monastery has been under construction longer than the building in GTA V.

Discovered this game in 2022 and I'm hooked, almost gave up at intro but dam glad I didn't, what a feeling playing out and learning history.
Wish more games were like this

Thanks a lot! :) Yeah it is about 30-45 mins driving from Prague, and since I am not much there I gave it a shot ;)
In the autumn the forests are quiet, it is normal, at least here in Bohemia. If you want to hear birds and see forests full of life as in the game, the best time to visit is May - June.

When does it rain?
The Sassau monastery is not finished because of Husit's war (1419-1434), but it's possible to visit its interiors during tourist season (usually from April to October). :) I've been there in July and it has well-preserved gothic chapter hall, just like in game. :) There's lots worth seeing in this area!
Awesome! Thanks for the tips! I did read already that sometimes they also give guided tours there, but unfortunately November till Feb there are no tours. I did saw as well you met Dan Vávra :o awesome! Was that at their studios in Prague?
@@PredCaliber Nope, I met him in his birth town Rychnov nad Kněžnou, I live near there. :) But there are lots of events for game developers/players, animators or fans where is possible to meet people from Warhorse, talk with them and ask questions. I was on some of those events and I also won some merchandise in "competetions" about KCD on these events, it was fun! :D
This is my favorite game and once this pandemic is over I might visit.
600 years after the game events, sasau monastery is still being built those czechs work fast

I must say that unfortunately the places where are forests now (and might have been there back then) were mostly deforestated in 16th century and these forests which grow here now have quite different composition of species of trees. Everywhere, where was it grown by beeches, firs and several more trees were planted spruce monocultures since like 18th century, but now it starts getting back to normal.

Great video! If you come back to CZ, I can help you with accommodation in Prague, etc. (at least send you some tips if you want). I visited Sasau and Rattay last year with my friends. We had lunch in a restaurant/inn, where you meet Fritz and Matthew in KCD :D

I bought it on steam since im a fan of historical games, tried playing it too but it was too hard for me from the start so never played it for years but I've got nothing to do this month so i gave it a chance now in hooked to it

@@PredCaliber Beta forest was only possible before they added all the stuff around NPCs. They had to scale it down a lot because it wouldn't run on an average gaming PC and even some high-end ones would have low fps. In fact, that was a major problem during the developement and near the end, every new addition to the game ment a lot of optimalization of other parts or sacrifice of something else.

6:55 - This is modern artifical monocultural industrial forest for wood production. If you are impressed by this damaged ugly forest then you must be probably from.....Netherlands. :-D Czech forests were completely destroyed in history, original looking forest with oaks and beeches is very rare, you can find only little pieces cutted by roads and fields, everything else are spurce monocultures for wood cutting. Also spurce forests were destroyed by bug in last few years, it's result of creating artifical industrial forests, healthy forest should not look like that terrible ghost forest from your video. And no, dry needle trees will not be more green in summer. :-D
For people from Netherlands Forest is huge attraction itself.
I also notice monocultural forest for inustry.
In EU real untouched forest is in Poland

Not really lmao, in most forests you hear many birds even in winter
@@DonDadda45 Probably depends on the location. I spent many years in the Colorado mountains and where we went it was very quiet. There were occasional crows calling, but often silence. Yes, other areas there are more birds and they can drive you mad with the chirping!

@@Syndixal you have to get a firearm licence, (very similar to driving licence) you have to pass a law test and safe handeling with a gun, then with a licence you can buy pretty much everything except full auto
