It works only on Java edition because of Java supports "quasi connectivity" which is basically if the block above piston is powered, the piston will be powered
To make it work on bedrock u have to make more complex circuit connecting all the piston separately
Also make sure that the piston which r not handling stone r delayed by 2 ticks

A: this is for Java

Fun fact : the minecraft redstone handbook made this, this uses quazi connectivity to enable this, *the quazi only works on JAVA* and thus not on bedrock

That’s bc your in bedrock when this Jeb Door is done in Java where quasi connectivity exists, and is able to update certain pistons without an actual power source. All u have to do is move the pistons into the ground and attach the redstone
