As per purpose i have selected SR5100 DIODE but now i am getting confused in selecting manufacturer. CAN YOU SUGGEST? HOW can we check in short span about their quality?

I plan on placing a switch to turn current from the computer off to use power supply... My question is which schottky diode should I use and where should I place it? Before or after the switch?
