What happened to the Longbow? (Apex Legends)

I think the biggest nerf was the sniper ammo change where you can only carry 24 rounds per stack, as the Longbow used to be heavy. The fire rate and the overall DPS holds it back as well. Also, I think overall the power level of guns have just surpassed the longbow at this point, and there are just better alternatives (G7, looking at you) While it's not the best gun, we'll try to take the longbow out for a spin and make it "work" for this video

Yes I agree, but longbow is still good. The 30-30 is simply built differently though I kinda like it.
GarvyGreg I didn't like it at first but it's kinda like a beginner when wingman that's easier to use

They changed Horizon's base finisher. They added an animation of her inspecting the lift right before she puts it in your face. I guess they thought it was a little too fast.

i think that's the inherent problem with Snipers, literally any other scope than the sniper badge makes them better. the snipers should all have bullet speeds on par with the TT, they are worse at range than most of the other weapons in the game.
@@nicbuzas7783 yeah 301 with the anvil beats it, the bullet speeds and damage per shot are just too low to be viable and with it being a) none meta b) a whole diffrent ammo type and attachment type you don’t find anything for your snipers late game

Idea to change lifeline:
Keep her auto res the same but make the shield protecting the player breakable
And the shields strength is based on their knockdown shield
(So grey would only protect a couple shots while gold may need a lot of damage)
This can give knockdown shield more use and can maybe change lifeline for the better

Good idea but I don't think it would work. Even with a 200 health grey shield,lifeline would obviously be nearby, and wasting an entire mag for the shield of a downed player would be your death since lifeline could just shoot you. Could work if you have multiple people shooting at the shield tho.

no idea yeah , but theoretically if they implemented this they would probably adjust it to make it better like gray absorbing 50, blue absorbing 100-110 , etc

There was a leak recently saying a new class of weapons will be added next season and it is Marksman rifles and I believe it because I recently was playing with Bangalore and you know when you ping stuff as her that she explains what things are and the 30-30 I pinged she called it “a classic marksman rifle”
The G7 and 30-30 should be able to use sniper scopes!
Before anyone says "No! It'll just replace actual snipers!" Their bullet velocity and drop off damage will never compete with the triple take nor charge rifle. The longbow? That gun is shit anyway.

But was changed cuz with double tap it became op and alot of players used it as an Ar than sniper

so funny thing, there's a video way back in mid 2020 that shows the longbow's bullet velocity as pretty much half of that of the triple take and sentinel. today i tested it myself, and it's massively different; it's pretty much up there now, just a bit slower than the triple take. idk when this change happened and it's not listed in the patch notes section for the longbow on the wiki
Watching this video at the time of season 21 and seeing the triple take with a 4-8x scope, sniper ammo, and no hopup attatchment slot is insane to me!

I started using the longbow recently too, one headshot equals them hiding behind cover, one nade after that is glories
Longbow used to be THE sniper rifle back in the early Season 0 days, like to the point where if I had a fully kitted Longbow I wouldn't swap it for a Kraber. Now I only use it if I have to cross out a challenge or something like that. Triple Take ftw.
Right now it is easy to find 10-12 rounds. With good placement I can keep easier teams occupied at a distance because of the rate of fire/capacity while my teammates flank. All other rifles hit harder and are probably better which will help with kills but the long bow has some satisfying cover fire capabilities. You can find a gold variant at the caustic drop in the tanks at king's canyon sometimes.

They should revert the Longbow back to its old, faster fire rate to make up for its measly damage compared to the other snipers. The only thing that made it OP was how fast you can fire it and never have it run out of ammo because it used to use heavy ammo lol

They joked about Caustic disappearing but what if in the future, a Legend actually disappeared? Or died. I remember Kandy talking about this one game where the players had input in what happened to certain characters.
Cool in concept. Really bad in practice. If characters actually get rid of, then characters nobody really plays or likes will just die. Wraith, Rampart, Revenant, Caustic... It’d suck for the people who main them.

So I wanna go out and say my own opinion on the longbow. I love the longbow, I only use The Times 2 bruiser scope on it.I've noticed that if your moving or strafing while using the gun the bullets don't really hit very well so before I take a shot I stay still for a seconds and that seems to help with the bullet hitting its target for me at longer distances. Skull piercer like hella necessary if you wanna use endgame tho

I think they should buff the ammo carried by 8 (32 for stack), because Charge Rifle uses more ammo in 1 shot, also Triple Take and Longbow have a pretty high fire-rate for a sniper. The only weapon that doesn't really needs lots of sniper ammo is the Sentinel.
The long bow is a good weapon for distance but only with a 3x scope or the Digital sniper scope, but the g7 and the 30-30 out match it in mid-close and the sentinel is just a lot more damage in a shot and just better at distance even the triple take does it better.

I actually pick up the longbow quite often, the biggest problem with its is its low damage especially if you have potato aim like me and can't hit head-shots, for a sniper its too spamy, and that's where the ammo cap comes to play for me, it's definitely enjoyable, but it needs more love

Kandy is like the best grenade thrower in the game. He can probably win with just grenades
The longbows kind of the halfway point between the medium range scout and a sniper but not as good as either. The bullet drop is too harsh for a sniper and it fires too slow for medium range. I often feel I do better with a carbine than a longbow. Plus ammo economy. Longbows in a bit of a rough spot.
I use snipers a lot and yesterday I looted like 8 death boxes and they all had snipers/sniper stuff in them. I asked apex gods for a 4x8 scope, killed a solo and she was carrying a full sniper set with a 4x8

I think sniper ammo is a good idea when the snipers are extremely powerful. As of right now only the sentinel, triple take, and Kraber are any good.
