The year was 1982 and a 20 year old Pete Weber was at a Pro-Am tournament and in his last game lost to a 12 year old kid. He started calling all the kids f@@king brats by the 6th frame. By the end every other word he said was F@@k. Another pro grabbed him and took him outside to calm him down and then he came back and shook the kids hand, by the way the kid was 6 inches taller also. That 12 year old kid was me. So yes I am 1-0 vs Pete Weber.
Beautiful.. love it!
...And everyone in the alley clapped and booed Pete out of the place!
Sorry but this just sounds made up. It may be true, but honestly gonna need some proof if you're gonna make a big claim like that.
Average Brent W
Awesome story...and a way better memory than if he was just some nice pro
Who does Pete think he is? You are!
You go back to when multiple bowlers complained about Belmonte's water bottle, when you watch the matches, you can literally see him trying to time what he's doing. The tour went through a period where everyone cheered the whole time during the finals. I don't know why they got away from that. You wouldn't have this absurd silence, that a small noise like that could throw you off.
No he didn't. You just made that up.
@Manatee Power yes Douchemonty clearly was timing his squeezing of the water bottle. Those particular bottles also continue to pop on their own. The PBA should have stepped in and prohibited that type of bottle at the first complaint.
Honestly look at the 2nd time it happened bc I really couldn’t tell from the first he took a sip from the bottle before he had his ball in his hand and put it down before he set up to throw. Unless there’s another angle I’ve not seen it didn’t seem that bad. Again I don’t follow PBA that much so I don’t know his reputation or anything just pointing out the way it looked for me.
@@heartfanjim01 Well, they did, and now it is not an issue anymore. In retrospect, considering Belmo's reputation for integrity, and the toxic reactionary culture of bowling is that all of the Belmo complaints were just a result of a bitter clique upset at a foreign two hander in the PBA.
@Manatee Power he's a douche period. Of he dropped of a heart attack right in front of me, I would just keep walking.
“It’s called sportsmanship.” Okay Weber.
Please someone tell me why. Pba didn't ask Weber who it was and than remove the fan.silence of the approach has been a rule since the 60s
Sportsmanship goes for the fans. Also
Weber was yelling at a 12 year old when he said " who do you think you are, I am" 😂
Such a goof
Sportsmanship something Weber never had
Weber's voice sounds like a cartoon 😂
I didn’t know Dale gribble took bowling so seriously
Greatest comment of all time.
Randy was 100% looking to blame it on something since the 9th frame
guys like him make living in this world harder then it has to be. Blames some guy sitting in the nose bleeds for missing the 7 pin.
@@mikekinsella2822at 2:56
It’s clearly obvious someone whistled right before he threw it
@@Denverbroncos87 He should be able to over come that with focus. He should have never heard a noise if he is in the zone. He missed the 7 pin which happens a whole lot even if you put the ball into the pocket.
Pete is like the Earl Strickland in pool.. that guy always had something to be mad about.
Both Earl & this Pete weber dude they both don't seem to know what's meant by sportsmanship & self humility I especially have a dislike for Earl "the pearl" Strickland I'm very surprised that either of them hasn't been held to account for their temper tantrums & tirades professional? nope most definitely not spoilt little brats YES most definitely
Pete Weber finds something to be mad bout to up his intensity level. It usually happens during the championship match.
so Pete did an interview with the sports podcast Pardon my Take and he said that the person he was yelling at was a 10 year old kid hahah. never change pete. love the channel!
His story has changed a little bit over the years which leads me to believe he made it up lol
@@playdiscgolf1546 you can clearly hear an adult talking back at Pete.
The commentators both even addressed it during the match
@@Denverbroncos87 He made it up.. there is literally video analysis of it and where Pete was pointing.. There was no one there saying anything or doing anything..
@@JonHop1Pete Weber is a dumba$$. I couldn’t hear anyone in that clip. I’m starting to think the person he was yelling at was in his mind.
@@Denverbroncos87 well if you hear an adult, than those stories don’t add up because he says it was a kid lol
You can hear there thumbs popping out the ball when they release. Couldn't have been to much noise to hear that still. Those dudes be like this is a library or a church, not a bowling alley😂
Try to get on the pba tour.
I don't care what any of you people say out there, none of these guys could hold Roy Munson's jockstrap for 1 minute
Why would anyone want to hold another guy's jockstrap?

When I was much younger Sean Rash part teaching clinic thing I paid to participate in. It was said that he was supposed to interact and teach the bowlers hands on. He was very rude, and when anyone tried to talk to him he ignored, or was very snotty to them. It was the most humiliating experience of my life, and biggest scam I've ever part taken in. Sean Rash is a POS, and a menace to bowling itself.
Pete Weber and Sean Rash should have their own(separate) angry bowler channels.
Sean was right against Belmo. Nobody in league or tournament does that with a water bottle while a guy is about to bowl. Dirty $hit!!!
I remember Marshall Holman kicking a foul light off to the side after a bad shot, and that light & buzzer stayed on. It was a made-for-TV doubles tournament, and I remember Tommy Hudson was on the other team, and he sat down next to Holman to try to calm him down.
This was the bad sportsmanship i was thinking of as well. I would insert this one, and replace the #1 clip o Pederson.
@@edb7300 I found the video of it!!
czcams.com/video/CWge7CqNSS0/video.html
Then that wienie that was bowling with Hudson, Pete Couture, kept repeating, "We should protest" like Rain Man.
Pete is like a SNL skit.
I dont hear the water bottle at all anywhere in the Rash match, but you can clearly hear it when Angelo is in his back swing
Anyone that bowls "two handed" is a major "pus$y" anyway.... They need to ban that shit for anyone over eight.
The last dude is the real life Ernie McCracken
Honestly the bottle outburst from Rash is probably one of the greatest moments in PBA history, if not for all of humanity
Seriously, keep up the great work on this channel! We need more of these commentary- and opinion-type videos
For sure he called him out and now we can rewatch it, and be reminded about the bottle bitch, The way we drinks out of his bottle sets it down and picks it back up at 5:05 you can clearly tell he does it deliberately. Now these guys should be able to tune sounds out but unsportsmanship does get annoying
It is on "who do you think you are, I am" level epicness as far as bowling goes!
Yeah I agree, it’s still talked about the most outrageous and I could understand it
LETS HAVE SOME FUN
I love the scroll on the bottom "Favre expected to sign with Vikings today"
Never understood why Sean got so heated at the team shootout. It seemed obvious that Jason was joking around but he took it so personally
Joking around?
@@fredw8490 from what I remember, there was the one bottle crack which distracted Rash and it looked accidental, but the second crack was on purpose and you could see Jason smiling and laughing like he was joking around. Could just be how it looked to me
@@fredw8490 It was a combination of both... At this time Storm and Brunswick had a tense rivalry at the time, and I think Belmo was indeed messin wit them and joking around, especially the 2nd time.. And this was a team event where they all got paid anyway, so nothing big was at stake anyway. Belmo has already spoken on this alot, and said, the reason for the water bottles, was that you couldnt show label's on TV so he was forced to reuse the same, unlabled water-bottle over and over.. And as you know, with reused water bottles, they become very crinkly and softer the more they are used.. So I do think some of his crackling of the battle was unintentional.
@@JonHop1 he could have taken a drink at a different time, but I’m mostly talking about the times he does it at a serious match. And he has done it before, against two different players that I’ve seen.
@@fredw8490 well bro, say all you want about 2 small incidents of crinkling a bottle, none of that matters, cuz even if you give those 2 matches losses to Belmo, He is the greatest bowler to ever live and would still have the most majors ever. You know, people try to destroy peoples characters over mistakes they have made in the past like they are perfect human beings.. Belmo isnt some heinous monster that did terrible things. He crinkled a bottle... Who cares... He never used a plastic bottle again after the Rash incident, so he learned from his mistakes and never did this again. There hasnt been an incident like this with Belmo in like almost a decade now.. Give him that at least...
I was there during the Randy Pedersen incident , not too far from the person that moved man that look Randy gave
I'm surprised Marshall Holman kicking the foul light and breaking his foot wasn't in here.
Your post is erroneous. The Bald Ego did not break his foot. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@sludge8506 but he did break the foul light
“Cocaine is a hell of a drug” Pete Weber
I'm waiting for the perfect time in my life to call someone a "bottle bitch". I love that
🤪🤪🤪🤪
When everyone orders draft beers and one orders a bottled beer. I see it all the time when I’m a server and always want to say it but can’t :(
@@onedayatatime007 that's hilarious! If you ever say it, come back here and make sure to let me know.
Pete could have his own compilation
"who do you think you are? I am!"
What the hell does that even mean?
Nothing wrong with Ernie being happy about it. No, he didn't cause Randy's miss, but he beat him. If Randy wanted to beat Ernie, he should not have been in a position to lose it on a tap. We bowl 10 frames, not 1.
Weber was a great bowler--perhaps even greater than his dad. But he was the biggest clown ever on the PBA Tour. He was toxic. His dad was my favorite bowler ever, and I think Pete did a lot to tarnish Dick's reputation.
Love your Channel keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much!
Love the addition of the clips! Perfect!
Thanks!
The pba was fighting for ratings and it was being broadcast on ESPN during the holiday weekend, with a legendary announcer. Pete Weber absolutely made all of that up to psych himself up and create buzz for the dying PBA and it worked.
Wait a minute:He made all of that up?!?
That's some great acting on his part!
@@ronaldshank7589 Pete has been a long time WWE fan. The crotch chop and outbursts are definitely inspired by that. He’s playing the heel for the PBA.
@@AussiePillow1 we all can clearly hear fans talking back to Pete Webber…. I know what talking sounds like. I watched that match live on tv. A father and son were talking back to Pete
You know what else will bring back the pba? Making it how it was before 08.
@ROGER CARLSON what changed?
I bet there are a lot of player antics behind the scenes to mess with their opponents like the water bottle episode.
Everyone knows that bowling alleys are quiet and serene. How dare someone make a noise!! Sacrilegious!
I've met Pete Weber a handful of times since I've worked in bowling centers that host PBA tournaments/trade shows. From my experience he's not the friendliest person in the world. Even while he's not bowling. 🤣 Absolutely not a fan of him.
Bro Bowling from the 60's to the late 90's was just ELECTRIC! What the heck happened to the game? They played in huge stadiums with 10-20k people.. I miss these environments...
What happened? The game has been dying a slow death for decades... fewer tour events, smaller prize funds, and an ever diminishing audience. Back when bowling was one of only 2 or 3 things for Joe Average to do on a Saturday night, it was huge... but that just ain't the case anymore. There are currently 1/10th the number of sanctioned league bowlers that there were 30 years ago. It is what it is...
Yep...Learn Jr's day in '96 was maybe the best. So much energy.
Cornhole
Bowling is fun when you're part of the competition, but it's just not as entertaining from a spectator perspective compared to basketball, baseball, football (🏈 & ⚽), hockey, tennis, cricket, skateboarding, UFC, etc.
Image is also a huge factor. Kids see the above sports as cool. They wanna be like Lebron, Ronaldo, Fernando Tatis Jr, Marshawn Lynch, Nyjah Huston, etc.
But professional bowlers, snooker players, darts players, etc. just look like some random dad or uncle.
@@notonyourlife7939 Social media... fast food...
people in general are fatter and have so much ADHD / ADD now they can't go seconds without looking at a phone
parents hand their kids tablets, rather than throw a football with them outside
When did John McEnroe start bowling and losing his mind on the lanes? Pete Weber the John McEnroe of bowling.
"Chalk flew up!"😁
I would have slapped the taste from his mouth
I always thought Holman was the McEnroe on the Lanes..Then of course came Weber..They both backed up there words in many many wins!
In the end. Any sports professional who lets themselves get psyched out is on them in the end. You are the one making the play. Get your head in the game and get it done.
It's called sportsmanship, pal!
Imagine bowlers chirped like hockey players
Pete Weber is a head case.
Holman kicking and breaking the foul lights was the best, during the double tourny. And Tommy Hudson saying he wants to protest the match to tournament director.
Holman absolutely inspired PDW to be the way he is. Marshall flat out said it, you have to be cocky to be good out here. Marshall was the original “bad boy” lol
Dick wasn’t cocky. Neither was Earl.
In my opinion, Marshall was a failure. Yes, he was great, and had 20 something pba titles, but he should have had a lot more.
@@playdiscgolf1546 Ed Bourdase was the original Bad Boy. He just wasn't as talented as Holman, but he was a mean SOB on the lanes. How he kept it in check for PBA events is surprising. Outside of those events, he would rain terror.
@@sludge8506 Without a doubt, Holman made 116 television finals, that's third all-time. He should of had way more than his 22 titles no question.
He was suspended for 10 tournaments because of that
I would have stood up and said to Weber, ‘come closer and say it to my face’.
tough guy over here
@@josefrukavic7368It’s not Pete. Pete is a damn drama queen.
So you'd intentionally distract someone bowling and then try to act like a tough guy when said bowler calls you out? Sad
@@harpiessnowLiterally no one was distracting him. No one.
I feel like it wasn't the fan the in the first Randy clip that he was upset with, but the announcer he was pointing at and upset with. He was pointing in an entirely different direction off where he wouldn't even have been able to see anyone move. Also, you could see him react as soon as the announcement was being made, shaking his head and waving his hand in that same direction before he threw the last ball. I could be wrong, but at least that's how it appeared to me.
I think you are correct.
This kinda cracks me up. I love bowling and golf and I understand you want silence but how about the 18 yr. old who's at the foul line with a hundred some maniac fans going crazy wanting him to miss.
Love the content, keep it up
Thank you, much appreciated! :)
At 2:56
You can clearly hear someone whistling or making some sort of sound right before randy threw it.
I rewatched multiple times and when I watched it live I thought maybe it was his foot work in his approach.
Heard it too. Randy had every right to be understandably pissed especially since that last shot forced him to surrender his tour card.
@@TheCD5150imagine if randy got the strike.
His career would have been different. He was still a decent bowler then. Occasionally making a tv show
@@Denverbroncos87 Randy was 13-4 in title matches. Unreal.
@@TheCD5150 yeah. Many would love that record
The irony of Pete saying it’s sportsmanship…..😂😂😂😂
Good job, you the right one for the #1 outburst
I was a AJBC registered bowler in the early 1980s. I still remember playing against Pete Weber Sr handicap match while he wasn't on the map yet. I do NOT miss Junior's arrival.
I’ve tried the bottle trick on numerous league nights. Despite my efforts and consistent 150 average, it still hasn’t worked as well for me as it did for Belmo.
Rash is a 🤡 Starts crying 😢 to deflect what he just said.
Sure miss the class of Anthony, Roth, Dick Weber, and the other stars of yesterday. Like society at large, classiness is obsolete.
I met Marshall Holman after he was retired from bowling.Had a great conversation with him.A real nice guy.Unlike his tempestuous career. But he was a great bowler.
Yes, class is lacking in most sports now. It is a reflection of the world at large.
@@buckzx12r the new pba czar told weber to act up and he did and bowling got on sports center.
And the Pimp style of Ernie Schlegel
Watching these outbursts remind me of why I stepped away from bowling. It wasn’t fun anymore and I can’t even go out with my wife and son to bowl because I take it so seriously they don’t like bowling with me. I don’t blame them lol the struggle is real.
I hear ya, man. I'm the same.....super, over the top competitive to the point of quitting league because the fun was gone.
Me too, my friends hate bowling with me because I get so damned angry. I'm embarrassing.
I am also very competitive, but when I start to struggle I hold my temper and tell myself it's only a game and is supposed to be fun for everyone. Throwing tantrums, shouting obscenities, and blaming poor shots on everything and everyone other than yourself doesn't make it fun for bowlers around you.
That being said, it's difficult NOT to get angry when the pinsetter machinery malfunctions and it scratches or damages a new or favorite ball!
@@grprather for me I just struggle to keep my anger in when I can't bowl over my average, because I KNOW I can do it. Because I have many times, but about the bad breaks and overall annoyances I can get pretty heated about those.
Oh man, ain't _that_ the truth... this is *exactly* my reason that I stepped away from bowling too.
Not to make a novel out of this, but I found myself distancing further and further away from league because of my overcompetitiveness. Poor little juvenile ol' me couldn't handle shots that I thought were "deserving" of a strike, when all I did was just hoof 'em down the lane and hope to make all them 10 white, red-ringed bastards turn into woodchips. Yelled out, swore like a sailor, kicking the ball return, hitting the seats, smashing my bowling bag in the parking lot... you name it. Blamed it on everything but myself. The sport is just no longer fun to me anymore. Now I just watch it.
None of them could defeat Roy Munson or Ernie McCraken!
I honestly don't blame Randy at the 2005 TOC one bit. That last shot against Duke forced him to give up his PBA tour card and he lost his exemption. At 2:56, it sounds like either someone whistled or someone moved their feet against the floor.
This totally reminds me of the Documentary Now episode of the pro bowlers one. That one if one of my favorite episodes of Documentary Now.
It takes a BIG man to cry,
It takes a BIGGER man, to LAUGH at that man!
What a sporting, classy bloke Pete is…
Great video, but the sound could've been leveled out a bit.
And then there's Walter Sobchak flashing his piece out on the lanes. MARK IT ZERO!
Had to bop in and check this out. Used to watch bowling on wide world of sports in the mid 70's. Also fond memories of bowling with him on Sunday mornings at Del Rio Lanes. The vids are a much later era by and large.
The last guy is like a Wrestler cutting a promo in the attitude era🤣💪💪💪
Pete is like Dean Wormer. All the threats he gave is like double-secret probation.
I always tell people to not fret the splits or non-strikes...its great practice. Just this past Friday and the one before, I bowled a 287 and 286. I bowl Strikes all 10 frames, then on the 2nd shot of the 10th frame Ill do a split (6 and a 7) and of course pick it up. But at that point I've botched my chance at a 300. Im kicking myself while everyone else is telling me how awesome and inspiring the game was lol. So be good at picking up spares before you're worried about making all strikes. You can bowl 8 strikes in a game, but if you leave frames open in between, its useless and still is a pretty low score 😅
Once u try to get good at bowling u appreciate how hard it is to bowl over 200
Ernie Schlegel yelling I am the greatest talk about nerdish…cmon it’s bowling lol.
Fun fact: Ernie used to hustle other bowlers for money in his youth.
The whole silence thing is so absurd, its not professional bowling obviously but there are tons of very competitive leagues all over the country with extremely good bowlers who are able to consistently score well in very noisy centers
Good bowling video!
Great video. Excellent narration. Love the posh twang.
Scott the Engineer in background on classic weber clip makes it that much better
Kindof just shows what babys sean rash and pete weber are. In almost every other sport dealing with the crowd is part of the sport. Expecting a crowd of people to stand perfectly still for you is peak narcisism.
Imagine if bowlers chirped eachother like hockey players.
So people don't get kicked when acting out watching golf or other high concentration sports where even a momentary loss of concentration can lose the game for you? It's common courtesy in bowling to quietly wait for them to throw and then applaud or congratulate them on a good throw or sympathize with a bad one.
Pederson.....what a man baby. That last ball he missed his mark, and that lane was finishing weak. He had to probably shoot what, 40 games during the week just to get to that last frame? It's chaos during the qualifiers, the place is packed with many other bowlers shooting their matches, nobody is quiet or still. He missed his mark, it wasn't on the fan, period.
He did, he got that shot wide about a board or two, he deserved the 7 pin he left.
I used to watch PBA events a lot. But if Weber was in it, I didn't. Couldn't stand him. I've never wanted to smash a bowler's face like I did his...
Well … now I know I am not a Pete Weber fan … (of course, he doesn’t really care, feeling is mutual)
Touring is tough. Away from your family is soul crushing.
The weber freak out after winning was classic
Some of those guys partied like rock stars. Drink you under the table, and wake you up with a bloody mary.
Scott the engineer in the house.
I think that Ernie was on some good drugs that day.
Everyone jokes about it but Cocaine was really big in the PBA in the 90s. Bowling 42+ games over the week competitively is exhausting. To see a guy coming out of the bathroom sniffling his hand wasn’t that unusual lol.
Bowling...
Lol.
Just look at these World class Atheletes.
I stand in awe.

I hope he didn't win more titles after that
I loved it . He did nothing wrong . “ The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat . “ Cheers to Earnie .
Shaddup Pederson.....can't blame that shitshot on someone in the crowd...
As if bowling is anything more than interrupted beer drinking.
4:45 what in the world
Yes Yes one for the old people. Randy, you hit nine you get nine!!
Anybody that fixed on the crowd is looking for an excuse. Kickers, basketball players, baseball players and many others somehow survive with noise and movement. Learn to concentrate and stop blaming others.

"His career on the line." It's bowling, Dude.😂 But that's just, like, my opinion, man.
With as much Money that Pete Weber has, you'd think he'd be a little more professional than he acted.
Imagine if they tried to tell the fans at a football game to stay still and quiet. You're rolling a ball, let's get on with it.

@@michaelsmith8453 Same here. But some folks are just uber-competitive, and to bowl at the highest level you have to be. I'm good friends with a former Tour member (who's now in the PBA HOF) and I wouldn't mistake what they do for a living as not working. He busted his ass on Tour, and like most he drove to every tournament. Only the top third get a paycheck, and the low casher can't even break even with tournament fees, food, lodging, gas, and other expenses. Some of the guys who are the biggest asses on TV are actually pretty cool and down-to-earth guys when not bowling. And some of the guys with the coolest demeanors on tour are big jerks off-screen. Same thing in any sport...
In that last clip, that guy really thought he was Him
Belmo did a big disservice by not addressing that bottle comment right then and there. He should’ve walked over to Sean and stood there and said to him and the team “I completely apologize I absolutely did not mean to distract you and I’m glad you threw that strike despite my mistake.” and put out his hand.
I’ve seen Belmo do the water bottle thing several times. In my opinion, he’s a dirty fighter. That’s cheating. I won’t watch a match with him in it ever again.
@@fredw8490 that's a little dramatic. He's not done anything of the sort in a very long time, and it was a misunderstanding to begin with.
Was some time after that, Belmonte and Rash faced off in the final of the Australian Masters in Sydney.
Lets just say Rash acted like a complete ass to everybody all week and was NOT a popular figure (unlike Mika, Mike Fagan and a host of other pros that came out) with fans or other players alike.
The place went nuts when Belmonte beat Rash in the final.
I use Preparation-H to alleviate the Shawn Rash that sometimes irritates my Pete Weber, which makes it harder to wipe after taking a Norm Duke.
Lmfao 🤣
If this comment isn't a classic i don't know what is....
@raymonsummers562: Right you are. I haven't kept up with televised pro bowling in decades but I remember a more gentlemanly atmosphere years ago. It was for prize money then but they didn't act like spoiled brats if something didn't go quite like they wanted. I hate to say it but maybe it's just a reflection of society itself. Sad.
On a brighter note, speaking of former greats, how about Bluth, Bordase, Salvino and Carter. These guys competed but still didn't have make jerks of themselves.
I never understood why seat people near the approach can avoid the staying still all together by not having seats there in the first place
