For a much cheaper and even better looking imo effect just mix equal parts baking soda, PVA glue and white paint
I’m doing snow bases for my Votann. Snow is supposed to look flat! Stepping out of your house into a fresh snowfall, finding footprints and tracks in the crust as you walk around is the best part about snow! I’ve been having trouble making tracks behind my subjects though

Try some AK interactive's Micro-Balloons, they are fantastic.
Hay man so I’ve recently experimented with snow terrain as well and I found you can add Pilar glacier for a more frosty look I’m not a fan, but if it’s like an urban area thin out soulblight grey it adds a grey tone. Also I found manually painting ice aswell is fun.

Have you tried Army Painters snow powder stuff? If you do it ontop the lil rocks (like you did) it really slaps!
I haven’t actually! I’ve just bought the AK snow and I’m excited to try it, I’ve seen Vallejo has some too.

A light brown wash at the very edge will give you a slushy muddy edge
I tried similar, if you use the extra plastic from the sets (like the lil number bits and stuff) bunch them together and drop some plastic glue on them, it turns out awesome!

I restarted my imperial knights' force, it's not much at the moment, I sold most of my old knights when I moved but I've got a questoris and a set of armigers!
I've also got a 1k point game for tommorow, got a neat build with deepstrike cawl and 2 armigers! I'll let you know!
I use elmers glue n baking soda.... you can het fresh powder or cracked look

If you don't want to use small rocks you could use original gorilla glue, it bubbles up and foams to make un even spaces

It is kind of weird that the feet of the miniatures is completely covered by the snow. Maybe the been standing in place long enough for snow to cover they’re feet.
My thinking behind it was it's thick snow so you'd be sliding your feed through it trying to move through, so behind most of them I actually watered the snow down in a line behind their feet so it looks like they've been pushing through the snow.
I quite like the effect.

Or... You can go in your yard for small stones.. and then paint it brown.. if u like.. and then use white glue (Elmurs) on the base.. then sprinkle on some baking soda.. ta-da.. I just saved you $72.39..😸
