This kinda makes me more impressed with Stingley. Most of these catches, he was in Chase’s pocket, but Chase made some great catches. Reminds me of that Chase vs AJ Terrell matchup.
@@justincredible4616 he cooked Terrell but if you rewatch, Terrell was in his hip pocket on every play except 1 or 2. If you’re projecting to the NFL, i think sticking to top receivers like Chase is the hard part. You can work on playing the ball better in the air

This is the film I saw when others was seeing the reps stingley won and started bragging. And it’s a lot more tape of chase dominating these 1v1s with some absolutely crazy catches and route running at that. But going up against guys like chase and jj everyday and getting embarrassed only helps his growth so I can’t take much away from him he should be solid at the next level I don’t like how Houston runs a lot of cover 3 that’ll be difficult to adjust to

I’m sorry but all this tells me is Ja’Marr Chase is the next Randy Moss / Jerry Rice. Stingley will be a great CB in the NFL, health maintaining, but there’s a reason Chase sat out a season and was still picked 5th overall.
@Eli Benda who cares? Every reciever has a guy who can beat him and every corner has the same thing. Or it could even be a fluke. Stokes beating him in college does not necessarily make him a better player than chase.
@Eli Benda I won't deny he put up great counting stats, I just do not think he's a better football player than Ja'marr Chase. Stokes did have a good year tho I'll give credit where it's due.
@Eli Benda I kind of disagree with that. Surtain was simply a better prospect coming out of high school and coming out of college. Not only is he big strong fast but he is incredibly technically sound. Stokes is definitely great technically too but Surtain was on another level coming out as one of the best press man corner prospects I've ever seen. But Stokes going to Bama may have helped his draft stock. I still believe his former teammate Tyson Campbell has more potiental.
I wouldn't call this *rare footage* and what I mean by that, Chase and Stingley has been playing football in the most advanced technology (social media) era lol. Where people have been recording on their phones for the past decade. So it's not hard to find these clips. But I love the competition between the two💯💯
A WR winning a 1v1 isn't impressive. Thats whats supposed to happen. You can't expect a DB to cover a guy who can literally go anywhere on the field. In team situations a DB can leverage his coverage based on where his teammates are in coverage to take away certain things. 1v1 is more about technique and competitiveness. DBs are suppose to lose more times than not. Great v. Great. LSU had some real dudes in 19'. Roll Tide.
TBH, most of the coverages are good, if not decent. Can't really ask any more from a cornerback, especially he practically has to cover every single route which is nearly impossible if not impossible. It is like asking top basketball players to guard each other one-on-one, only very rare players like MJ, Kobe, Kawhi are able to have a high success rate of defence, other times top basketball players are just going to toast each other. Whoever has the ball win.
Calm down bro he wasn’t getting “cooked.” If you really watch the footage Stingley was always in his hip pocket, Jamarr just made great plays on the ball. So it was great D on his part just better O on Jamarr’s end
@@queencityhighlights5462 you answered your own question. Don’t say I can’t say it’s because of them being college teammates.
