After hearing that there were still some Spanish Mackerel about in Southeast Queensland, we hit the local reef fishing spots to try our luck for one last time.
We also had Snapper fishing on our schedule. We used live bait, dead bait, and lures to catch our dinner. Plus the sharks took more than their fair share again!

Cheers and thanks for coming out with me Mihai. We'll have to get a camera on your ski too! Always more entertaining to show others out there. BTW you can see where I hooked up that Spanish Mac- right at that spot where the turbulence is greatest. That is the channel between parts of the reef rise. Causes a bit of an up-welling when the current runs. That seems to be where I always have hook -ups.

Excellent video Paul l really enjoy your channel. Very good catch and release as well. Im finally ready to buy a boat or a ski. Im a bit concerned as i have had 2 knee replacements so worried being on a ski would be uncomfortable or painful. All the best great fish caught and fishing tips. Cheers
Thanks James. Yes could be tough on the knees. After a day like that one (10hrs on the water) I can hardly walk that night after the cleanup! But a few Panadol and good sleep and I’m generally good to go. I’m no spring chicken in case you hadn’t noticed :) and not sure how many years the body will still cope. I’d suggest hiring a ski and trying it if you are still keen. The reason I don’t have a boat is the bar crossings. I’d need a 6m plus offshore boat to go where we go and I’m not prepared for the spend that would require! Anyway, whatever you do, enjoy. And keep coming back to my channel! I appreciate it.
Is that a new life jacket, might have to hang mine up for a month snapper closure and I don't usually troll much but I caught a marlin accidently but wanted a mackerel great video full of surprises
Yes I’ve gone high-viz with the new PFD! During snapper closure I think we’ll be doing some jigging! Catching a marlin accidentally is always a good thing! Thanks for watching again.

Hi James, thanks. It's a PLB on my shoulder. With the new PFD wasnt sure where i'd like it but this seems, to work fine so far. I also have used Klik sinkers and they are cool. My supplier Rusler gave me some of the ones they make to try out and they have been working well.
