Sonic.PETA feels like a refresher
It’s still Analog Horror elements with the VHS filter, but it’s more comical and more casual than creepy and disturbing, which is seriously a nice refresher, in my complete honest opinion.
Im p sure its supposed to be shitpost, which makes it’s existence and the fact its done so well even more surprising

I remember when I was like 5 I played 2 of PETA’s unlicensed parodies of Cooking with mama and Super Mario bros. I get what they were trying to say, but fuck PETA. They euthanize otherwise healthy cats and dogs.

An interesting note is that in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, that cutscene of Knuckles leaving that secret area is how Sonic gets to Hidden Palace to turn the Chaos Emeralds into the Super Emeralds
Adam seems to be giving Cory (and possibly Kyle, assuming the demon isn't Tails) an actual hiding spot
Where as the special stage in the first video is likely accessed from Angel Island Zone where everything sets on fire

I knew I had to turn my volume down for this one. For some reason, extremely loud noises are a hallmark of Sonic horror. Wew. Such scary.
Gotta love it when satire and analog horror combine for some hilarious and disturbing results, as seen in Sonic PeTA.
Definitely keeping my eye on that one and I’m very curious for more of these satiric projects.
I have one issue revolving around Sonic.CDN and that bugs me slightly. I am mainly talking about "Warning" and "Victims" tapes. Their description is about 1989, which is impossible to believe since Sonic didn't exist until 1991. Other tapes after "Victims" are working well since their dates are fine as Sonic 3 & Knuckles was released at 1994 while tape 3 to 10 are after 1994.
Overall, Sonic.CDN is quite good and waiting for season 2!
Ps: Don't try to fight with me about the fact that it can be AU where Sonic 1 was released in 1987 or something, most of analog horrors are getting their info correct.
There will be an explanation for that in a future episode

I simply interpreted it as an "early copy" story, like with some early Mario 64 versions. But you're right, the date itself can still be VERY off in gap.
Fun fact, Sonic’s original name was Mr.Hedgehog, but people mistranslated it to Mr. Needlemouse

I mistook this for needlemouse probs because of the thumbnail. But I agree it was a good series but I think it has ended sometime ago.

the ending was actually very nice. I cannot tell why, but it was a beautiful moment... very unfortunate Jojo isn't so proud of it nowadays, it was an alright series in my own opinion, even with it's mistakes.

I remember watching a couple Sonic Analog Horror videos late one night and having the most fucked up dream later that night, mess was crazy.

i love the PETA analog horror videos bc of the comedic moments in them but mostly it’s that the fact that Sonic himself is an environmentalist since he defeats Dr. Eggman from making Mobians, humans, and flickies into robots, which is something he does from the games and comics. it kinda adds in the hypocrisy that PETA has within them and it’s just a cherry on top

Sonic said, why are you playing with Mimikyu, Umbreon and Pawmot Instead of me uh. 22:13 after Sonic defeated all of my level 100 pokemon, my trainer character screams to his death instead of blacking out.

I was around for the early days of the series and I LOVED it.
Sonic.CDN - Worst parts of Urbanspook meets worst parts of Sonic.exe.
I would say the WORST parts of urbanspook, just the cheapest parts. At least sonic.cdn didn't go into CSA, SA, n/crophilia, or b//stiality, and it didn't go into THAT graphic of a description of Stanley's death. Still felt a little bit shock-value esque, but certainly not anywhere near as deranged
sonic.CDN's editing could very much use some work but its plot and story is amazing and i see a big potential to it

Have not seen these series in a big while.. Yet, I will surely not forget about it, aswell as how much I adored the characters themselves in these series...
What can I say? The analyzement itself is pretty good, no doubt!! Saying more, : You pretty much understood characters in there, and even gave them their own nicknames/marks, such as: naming Matthew, one of the PƏTA members who got promoted, "an activist"; or, hell, comparing a boss of Sega Japan to an actual real person. My eyeballs almost fell off out of the orbits from how actually sensial and clever it is!!..
Though, I cannot handle the urge to write down an explanation for who is who there:
In total, there are five characters: three are antagonists, two are semi-protagonists, and the rest are the victims, A.K.A side characters (such as Johanna, Sofia Hernandez, Omar Smith and John Brown)
Two semi-protagonists are:
• "Sega of America" boss;
• "Sega of Japan" boss.
Three antagonists are:
• "Little Hedgehog" (Sonic with an exposed left eye orbit, leaking with blood by a little), the group leader themselves;
• mr. Peta (Sonic with a morely messy quills/the "he will? finally" Sonic), a 37 years old broadcast figure, considered as tje most psychopathic out of everyone else;
• PƏTA "followers" (one of them is Matthew, a Sonic in the episode "incident"), just a group supporters. To distinguish who is who, every members has their own eye iris. For example: Matthew, as how we can see, has sky-blue eye iris.
All members are refered as "Useless".
But besides that, : overall, I am quite relieved that this video exists now.
Thank You for putting an actual effort into this, aswell as analyzing and understanding technically every shadow in every corner!!
You should definitely also check out Needlemouse, another analog horror story that takes the Sonic.exe story and spins it on it's head.

Urbanspook was the 1st thing that came into my mind when I heard the overly gruesome death descriptions and the fact that a baby was put inside another person, Urbanspook did something similar with putting a man's corpse inside a pig carcass.

Sonic CDN really gives off a huge mix of a bunch of typical analouge horror tropes, but it has two unique parts of it that ultimately feel like they borrow from two different places
The overt gruesome nature of the opening and the basic "tapes" really remind me of The Painter/Urbanspook and the shock value that series relied to heavily on
It really just had nothing interesting beyond the gruesome nature of it, the description and eventual image of Adam were also just incredibly and obviously unintentionally silly
The more action and artistic elements definitely feel like they're heavily riffing on the later episodes of Needlemouse, except with little of the build up that series had
I'm actually rather surprised you didn't cover it
tbh i think the issue with sonic cdn (as far as the gore and shock-value-esque-ness goes) is just pacing? It speaks to the creator's lack of experience that the first episode is the most blatant gratuitous, and how that got toned back after, and I feel like it would have been more impactful for corey, adam, and kyle to have been introduced before their deaths are described, maybe some details as to why they specifically became victims of the demon? Knowing more about who they were before they died is really the missing piece to me, because (judging by the rest of the series) we ARE meant to sympathize with them.
I don't feel knowledgeable enough to comment on the needlemouse part, but if I had to take a stab in the dark, I'd chalk a lot of the issues up to sonic.cdn's creator having seen needlemouse and been inspired to create their own sonic horror project, but due to a lack of experience in the genre, they didn't quite understand what made needlemouse work, or didn't realize how important buildup is to horror in general.
It sort of reads like something I would have come up with when I was just starting out writing, because most beginners have trouble distinguishing inspiration from imitation.

NeedleMouse was one of the best Sonic Analog Horrors that I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I believe that the creator took down all their videos on the series. So you'd have to look for episodes on some third party channel.

The Peta one is pretty good! I'm not very convinced by the VHS aesthetics, I think something more internet based would have worked better, but it's just me being petty. I still liked how the clips felt like recorded tapes.
