I love the design direction. Head up display is a no brainer coupled with a Minimalist interior its perfect. I also appreciate mild branding and compact proportions.
Everthing here sounds like a gimmick; trying to solve issues that nobody had in the first place.
True. Only these are gimmicks with a mission. Its a probe, dipping the toe in the water to check and see what features might find traction with the consumers for the car of the near future.

I like the exterior design.It is obviously inspired by the E30 and 2002 and that's phenomenal.Clean,smooth and simplistic lines.I really like this design language and I think it will be even better in production stage.

The idea of darkening the Screen for the projection is really quite clever. So simple, too. Can definitely see that making the series.
Also, big news on the car being out of aluminium. Be interesting if the Chassis is also the case, or Just the panels....

Where the Vision 100 was all round and almost shapeless, this concept is just the opposite. No doubt finding inspiration from the E30. For a car with very little design features, it looks surprisingly sporty and planted. A really good job from the BMW designers, imo.
I guess, this is where a lot of BMW faithful will be departing the brand to hold on to tradition and nostalgia... I get that. At the same time, as a car brand, if you don't invent and adapt, you seize to exist.

Just needs an S58 under the bonnet, design wise something different. That front end certainly has some nice features
They can do anything they want as long as they make it reliable and robust. I personally don’t like such things but understand going digital is inevitable. It’s all fun and games until it stops working.

Front reminds me of bmw z8, rear reminds me of new 7 series. Feels like an 80’s Italian car
Basically it shows many elements from Ferrari Dino designed by Bertone. Nevertheless a great concept car.
Domagoj actually sounds a bit nostalgic about BMWs design past. I wonder if that nostalgia will influence future models more. Cos it’s quite a mess right now. Designs are all over the place.

It's a human. Given how much better speech recognition will be in 2025, that's nothing to criticise BMW for. What you can do with a human today is tests of "how will people interact with a car capable of conversation?" , way before the tech is ready.
Imagine everyone with a 3 series woke up to this in their garage, whole world would sue BMW

One problem bmw have with the "gen z" he mentioned is that if they are like my son and his friends, the phone is the centre of their lives, and cars are just a commodity transport tool the way rented escooters, Uber and deliveroo drivers are. What they are trying to do here is design vehicles for this class of user, not the existing BMW drivers

I agree with you. This design is completely shit, awful, not a serious car, not a serious BMW. This is more like a joke. It looks like is drawn by some kids. They sacrifice the identity of BMW. I am very disappointed. They forcing so much this minimalistic design bullshit that it looks hilarious. I really don't understand this at all.

Sure it’s a concept, but concept cars once got me excited for design direction and where a company’s vision and opportunity to showcase its new design direction. For the first time, I feel this concept is pedestrian, it just doesn’t excite me at all. A BMW design has always been striking. Lately it’s been controversial, but still striking nevertheless. But the lack of surface treatment, over-minimal design, and gimmicks honestly does absolutely nothing for me.

I see white the E30 reference in the front. I think this is a nice nod to the past. Reinterpreted for 2030 of course.
@@mihnealazar7039 you have to look really hard for it. When you lineup all the BMWs in history, this does not follow the same design language it looks more like a Kia, then an innovative design from BMW BMW used to be the pinnacle of German design. I look to Audi and Porsche now.

I am not convinced with all the data being on the windscreen which reduces the view of the road and can be hard to see if the sun is bright and the angles are not right. Also, the console being entirely nothing is a matter of taste and it feels a little uncomfortable. It’s really looks like a design concept from the 1970s that has resurfaced with current technology but not much else. Sorry love BMW but I am a pass on this one.

A minimalist but utilitarian.
Nice interior and headup display but horrible exterior design and overrall shape. The exterior look old and cheap. I will never buy a BMW again with those kind of designs.

They just created a new twin turbo v8 for the next m5 and and it’s already in use with some models, I doubt it till 2030
They will make digital and virtual i6 and V8 engines. Future is disappointing.

Concept cars are a way to show where the company and brand is headed, what philosophy, technology, design, culture, vibe, etc. they are going to adopt moving forward. Much of the elements in a concept can make its way into production sooner or later… this type of direction should be for a new brand to the market, not a brand with a rich heritage like BMW.
