- “They were always thinking about inferiority: they had ‘madriditis,’ they had ‘yes, but,’” Cruyff said. “We were always thinking we were the victims but in my way of thinking there was no victim. I said ‘let’s look at ourselves, let’s think about how we can be better. Let the rest do whatever they want- we know what we want.’”
“Cruyff was a sensational player,” Juan Manuel Asensi, who scored two of the goals, recollected. “He was also a winner. The change in mentality was brutal. Suddenly, from always losing we saw that we could win, it was as if we had been drowning and now we were pulled out of the water. We could swim.” - Sport
I love classic football 👍
Once a spanish TV show tried to showcase this match for a Cruyff monographic and they asked Real Madrid for it, but the club (falsely) denied having it lmao
Great to find a new video of yours! And a Cruyff one no less...
The failing of such video compilations is not including all the goals, even those not scored by the protagonist of the video. Gratitude for the upload.
It's kind of not the point of the video, the game's highlights are widely available.
Nice work! I like that you incorporated the audio in again. Where's that from? Some of the pronunciations are odd. In any case, it's welcome. Sid Lowe is a really good writer.
It’s an AI generated voice, wasn’t anything fancy
@@HarmsFootball Really? Blimey, I'm out of touch. Sounded so real thought maybe you'd taken it from an audiobook or something.
Yeah, it's quite incredible - aside from the way that he pronounced "Cruyff" & "Barca"
Wow yeah I thought if was a real person who could cold read the script well, but didn't know how to say some of the names.
welcome back!
Thanks!)
Cruyff is in my opinion the greatest european player of all times, clearly I think. What do you people think
I think it’s a coin-toss between the 5 - Puskás, Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Platini & Cristiano (Meazza misses out due to the lack of footage). I don’t really like Cristiano that much so I’m tempted to say either Cruyff or Puskás.
@@HarmsFootball My personal top 5 would be pretty similar: Cruyff, Beckenbauer, Puskas, Meazza, Platini. I know there almost isn't footage for Meazza but considering he's most probably the greatest player ever prior to the post-war era and the astonishing things I've heard about him, I personally like to place him at the number 10 spot of my top 10. Cristiano is a great player but football history is pretty rich.
No european , but the World
@@HarmsFootball Eusebio maybe?
Cruyff, is the best & most complete European player I've ever seen.
Watched him a lot, back across the 1970s.
Always, one step ahead of everyone , on the pitch.
Even did a comp on him, a few months ago

Best playmaker I've seen. He controlled games from all over pitch, better than any player I've seen.
On just sheer skill on the ball. George Best ran him the closet, out all the European players I've seen.
My T5 European players:
Cruyff
Best
Beckenbauer
Cristiano
Platini

Cristiano as in Ronaldo shouldn't be anywhere near a top 5 list
@@leemc5646 Can you explain why?
@@leemc5646 clown u have no ball knowledge 🤡🤡
Van Basten belongs with those guys IMO, literally a perfect center forward with no weaknesses (except for bad ankles obviously)
@@Bill-Butcher I would put Maldini baresi there
