I was very happy with my crusher- it was extremely accurate and shot well. however, after storing it for the winter, when I pulled it out this year, I cannot get it to sight in for anything. It's all over the place now.
I have this gun it's a killer! Super powerful and accurate! Holds up well over time and there is a trigger modifications on CZcams to take the slack (travel) out of the trigger. This is the same gun as a lot of more expensive ones on a less expensive frame. Don't be fooled by marketing.
My Crusher wasn't too crunchy when cocking but I took it off the tube and lubed it up nice and if you don't toghten the screw too hard, the thing becomes smooth as sick.

Hi Kenny, I want to start by saying that I have been enjoying your videos for quite some time and I appreciate all the work you put into each one. I recently purchased a Crosman Vantage NP in .22 for a paltry $80, and slapped a Tasco Target Varmint 2.5-10x42 scope on it ($50), and went to testing some pellets. I tried the Barracuda Match based on your success shown in this video. At 10 meters the two best pellets were the Barracuda Match and the Crosman Pointed pellets. I was shocked that a pointed pellet shot so well, as they are awful in my .177 rifles. I got 5 shot groups averaging .2". I then tried both pellets at 25 meters and got identical 5-shot group averages of .57" for both pellets. I expect this $80 rifle to give my Vortek'd R9 a bit of a run at 50 yards once I tune up the trigger. Never saw that coming.

I purchased the Crosman Vantage so that I can perform the trigger modification with the bearing, the rifle has preformed quite well after an initial cleaning, I can wait to install the 5x9x3 mm bearing.
Great review on the gun and the trigger fix I used your 3mmx10mm screw idea on my new Benjamin Prowler. 22 Nitro Piston that I got at Walmart for 98.00 and have put a Tasco 3-9X50 on it and is very accurate air gun
Thank you for this review I've had my crosman crusher since February and tried to find a accurate pellet for it . I've tried about 5 different kinds so far but have high hopes now just ordered the H&N's looking forward to seeing how they turn out thanks again

Hi Kenny. I just wanted to let you in on a mod for my Crusher.
I don't know how long the rifle will last but who cares?
I placed a compression spring on the piston ram. Still don't have it perfect but I'm getting there.
I started with a long spring then cut it down to a length less that the ram and have been cutting one coil at a time to get it to full compression and engage the sear. Almost there.
I'm hoping that the spring will increase the speed at which the piston pops, and that it will give me alot more power.
I should know within a day or two as it's a time intensive project.
If this works out well, I'll run some Chrony tests and let you know the before and after results.
Have you taken it apart and seen if there are mods that can improve the power of the gas ram? Would be very interesting to see if there is something that can be done to the rifle.

I have two of the NP2's .22 and .177 and had a NP in .22 when you get these rifles you must clean the barrel really well to get the oil out and stop the dieseling. Then take time to break in the piston. I have replaced two of the triggers with Charlie da Tuna triggers the one stock trigger on the NP 2 was good. The Center point scopes are OK an up graded scope with mil dots makes a difference if you are shooting different ranges or hunting. I find them to be a great value for $200 dollars and a little work shooting as good as some $600 dollar rifles. You need to find the pellet the rifle likes. Ultra mags 14.3 gr in .22 seem to work and JSB's 10.34 in .177 for my rifles.
Kenny if I could plse suggest this On Trigger Technique: hold that blade at the rear after the pull, which gives better "follow through" and more accurate shots..... Dont let the blade go forward before pellet impact? This really helps, especially with rifle rested in soft bags, no sand bags or hard surfaces...

i noticed my was too heavy for the recoil and came loose. put the little 4x15 crossman and i had and dead nuts half inch low at 9 yds. good enough for me.
I liked this rifle . And my trigger was great .
The guy from South's Airguns on Facebook took the stock from the Crosman Optimus and put it on the crusher and it looks pretty nice, an option for those who would rather have a wood stock over a synthetic.
Mine has one of the smoothest cocking effort I've seen. It comes in at 37 pounds. No crunchy feel to it at all. The JSB 14.34 gr. are really accurate too. I did the trigger mod with a spacer I turned on my lathe and it went from the crappiest trigger I've ever seen to a really sweet and highly predictable 2 pounds. I'm going to replace that with the model bearing as you showed in your other Crosman trigger mods.

i bought a center point 4-16-40 lighted red or green cross hair.
Nice review Kenny. i don't care for that stock either. I think I like my Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk a lot better. It came with picatinny rail and a decent 3-9x34 CenterPoint scope. It shoots 2" groups @ 50 yards. I have $120 in it.

Got mine from Wally World for $59! It was shooting nicely out of the box, nice groups, until I decided to "fix" the trigger. It wasn't as bad, little long, out of the box. Tried to make the second stage shorter but whatever I did messed it up! Great video Kenny. I own a few of the airguns on your unbiased, honest reviews. How can I fix this? Where can I locally find a replacement screw? Thanks!

I'm working with my 2nd Crusher and they only avg. 15fpe.; the box labeled as a 21fpe gun. Wish I knew how u got one shooting as advertised.
I just bought this rifle. How did you determine what the fpe is?
Adam Bieber - I bought a cheap chronograph from Walmart n used an online fpe calculator. U gotta have the speed numbers to be able to calculate the fpe. Chronograph is VERY necessary to know if the gun is working properly. That's how I found out one gun was broken because the speed kept growing slower as time went on,and other guns weren't shooting as advertised so I got refunds.
D.C. Dave, velocity (in feet per second) X velocity X mass (weight) in grains ÷ 450240 = KE/foot pounds energy at the muzzle.
Kenny, I purchased a "Benjamin Varmint Power Pack", a few months ago, on clearance (NP break-barrel, .22 cal.) w/scope, light, & laser. The rifle has "Varmint" printed on the rear of the barrel. Is this air rifle similar to the recently re-branded "Crosman Crusher"? Just curious... Aside from the stock, they both share very similar shrouded barrels and action. My Benjamin has a welded-on Weaver rail for scope mounting, and a forward-mounted sling swivel. Safe Shooting!
Crosman has a model they call the Redtail NP. Looks like the same stock as the Crusher, but with a red colored muzzle brake. I thought it might be a bit gimmicky? It's a .22 caliber. Midway has them for $80 plus freight.

couldn t you do test on minimum 20yards. i never shoot a high powered gun so close.
crosman inferno 12 yards ok, but nitro pistons never, more like 25 to 30 yards.
I don't have 20 yards here but I just picked up a new portable shooting bench to use at my mothers place. Just have to make a good pellet backstop.

Hatsan 95 is Loud but over all a good gun.

Do you think the Crusher, Nitro Venom, Summit, Prowler, Varmint, etc are all more or less the same nitro piston gun with different stocks and scopes? I'm trying to figure out the price differences

Thanks for that information, I bought a Crossman f4 at Walmart back in April so I could see what the hype is about the nitro piston and was fairly impressed with the power but the scope was no good so I put a Bushnell on it and its all over the place past 25 yds or so. is this a common problem with these air rifles ? I have not ever found a good review on the 177 f4. I would like to buy a 22 cal in this price range so you have got me interested in this one next. I live on a disability pension and so I gave up on my rim fires for the time being because of the ammo is getting hard to come by so when I get it I been saving it up.I am a subscriber and have watched a lot of of your reviews, I would like your input on the best most accurate and powerful 22 air rifle for the money spent. Try the JSB pellets in .177 10.34 gr These guns are powerful and need a heaver pellet than most stores sell. Check out Airgundepot.com.
what was the head size on the H&N pellets
Kenny could you tell me why buy pcp like the discovery when you have breake barrel guns shooting the same pellet as fast and some faster than the discovery?
PCP has no recoil and a fixed Barrel so they are usually more accurate.

I had a Shockwave, same platform, in .22. I have a Ruger Impact in .177. The Ruger hits harder and has a way better trigger.. my Shockwave chrono’d at 483fps out of the box. I threw mine away since Walmart refused to accept the return.

The only difference is the Shockwave has open sights and the Crusher has the Shrouded barrel.
All in all, this one doesn't sound like too bad of a deal for a first magnum airgun. Not to mention, being shorter than the huge Winchester 1400CS @ 52"! I may just have to build a case for that one with angle aluminum & luan? Nice review, I like your honesty!

Bushnell riflescopes can safely be used on airguns with no damage.
I called a customer support representative from Bushnell, a few months ago. They could not verify that their scopes were rated for use on "magnum-springers" (high-powered break-barrel rifles, spring or NP). I do, however, have a very nice Bushnell AR Optics (AR/223 Tactical 4-9X40mm w/side-focus AO) mounted on my Crosman MK-177 multi-pump pneumatic (.177 cal.). It's a bit much for that rifle, but it looks cool and works very nicely (especially for my old, tired eyes...). Safe Shooting!
I did some videos on restoring my first gen Crosman model 160 in .22 caliber. That's 1955-56 vintage folks. Now fully restored, I found my Weaver 3-6 V22-A from the 70's on another rifle of mine. The 160 being on Co2, there's no need for a springer-friendly scope. I cleaned it up like new & want to use it on the 160 Pellgun, but need some mounting adaptors. I wondered if the Benjamin ones that fits the .565" receiver would work?
Just want to say love the channel just got a Benjamin Prowler 22 from Walmart besides the scope being a pile of crap this thing is a tack driver as you would put it I think it's the same as this gun internally I took it out hunting the other day 32 degrees I was out there for about 3 hours and got a squirrel at 35 ft with this crappy scope I adjusted my trigger turned it all the way in I need to get that 3 by 10 mm screws that you talk about thanks for the info and keep up the good work

The model ccnp2s Crosman 22 caliber nitro piston is total P.O.S. No pellets improved accuracy. Trigger is junk. Don't waste your money.
I had the rifle and it was trash really is super bad
please dont get me wrong but accuaracy was terrible I could never zero the scope, fpe was like 10 pounds I used the Pirañas, hollow points, pointed domed nothing worked over 2000 shoots and nothing work until I tried the red flight 16.7gr there is when the rifle improved in power and accuaracy but first the rifle broke the rings of the scope instead of zero in. the opposite to the crosman phantom .177 that thing was incredibly I actually killed 3 cats with them long ago and was a great gun.

Maybe your scope is bad or there's something defective with your particular rifle. There's videos on youtube of underage guys one-shooting an otter in the head from far distance. Like /watch?v=ArMyLTrFEw4 So i wouldn't say the rifle is "trash and super bad" only because you can't shoot.

Noah Wells - my 2 crushers averaged 15 fpe only,not as advertised. Plus it's scope rail has no stopper,so the scope slides as u shoot,even with a one-piece mount. I got a refund n bought an Umarex Octane...very satisfied now :-)
