Female Athletes “Scared Witless” To Speak Out Against Transwomen, Says Sharron Davies

- World Athletics has banned transgender athletes from competing in female category events.
The exclusion of transgender athletes will come into effect from March 31 and was confirmed by president Lord Coe at the World Athletics Council meeting.
TalkTV’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by Olympic medallist Sharron Davies MBE to discuss the move.
Sharron says: "Female athletes are scared witless to speak out. Even coaches and male athletes that train with these girls, who support them, are scared to speak out.
"If we can have respectful, honest and open debate based on facts and science we can find a space for everybody."

Do you think this is the right decision?
Yes. Definitely.
It is the right decision. However, if male participants have not gone through puberty, they can still participate with women in sport. The distinction between women and men must be officially maintained because of biological truth, and we do not want children undergoing irreplaceable mutilation surgery and hormone treatment.

A young woman was sort of debating me recently, stating that some women are much taller, more testosterone, etc. Yeah, life's not fair. Doesn't mean we keep falling off the cliff.
@@serpentines6356 That's why the crux of the matter is males have xy chromosomes and females have xx chromosomes. Chromosomes, not hormone levels, muscle mass, height or weight, determine sex. Trans athletes abuse female athletes.

I heard some men using the word superior because testosterone causes men to have more muscle growth, which gives men an advantage in sport. One of them also said men are superior in general because they're stronger than women. I said, it depends on what you see as superior, as I'd like to see an unarmed man in the same room as a tiger, as the tiger would obviously win as has sharp teeth, claws, etc, so are tigers more superior than men? Women can do things men can't, such as give birth to bring more men into the world. Gay men often use a female surrogate if they want a genetic child.

About time, how difficult can it be to see that a man who now defines himself as a woman and still has the strength of a man and his penis in tact, shouldn't be allowed to compete with women in their sport. Bullies can only be a bully if everyone allows it to happen. Bullies are basically cowards but have the confidence to behave badly and if you retaliate and stand your ground they will cave in.
I don’t give a rats if they do or don’t have a penis or if they are taking hormones . They are NOT women . If they wish to dress as females then sure , but they are still men .

The science should just the cherry on top of the cake icing. As the Olympian champion said, the entire sports history is more than adequate to prove the fact that men are biologically stronger than women. That this is an issue today is just insanity.

I am old enough to remember sharon competing and it was disgusting to watch her being robbed of victories by the cheats from the then communist block. I am so delighted with the decision, please God we will get similar in all sports at all levels and kick the modern day cheats out of womens sports.

I understand how women can feel intimidated, and subsequently be punished, for taking a stand in this - but i thought the greatest way to blow this right out of the water was for all those female swimmers to stay on their blocks when that guy Leah dived in.
That is what I would have done, but I often cut my nose off to spite my face (as my mother used to say) in other words I would happily lose everything to stand up for what is right. But as someone told me these girls would have lost sponsorships from the university and would not be able to compete after training so hard. But there is no way I would have swam, I would have given it up and I would not have changed in that room with him either and they could have called me transphobic and a bigot.

Hoorah! I was an all-round sports enthusiast as a child and the best performer (or 2nd best) at most things. When I was pre-pubescent, the best pre-pubescent boys beat me in everything from swimming to cross-country to athletics (field and track). The performance gap just widened even further after puberty.

What’s really amazing are all the people who’ve turned a blind eye to this growing tragedy of pure violations toward women. It’s totally sickening. Then there’s the people who agree with all this nonsense and they really have no idea what’s really going on. Total stupidity.
Lots of people are transitioning their kids pre-puberty so this issue will probably come up again in a few years.
Unfortunately the drugs they take to transition are giving them heart defects, and osteoarthritis amongst other things, according to a study in Sweden, where they have stopped transitioning young children.
Should be illegal. That is child abuse.
And how many of those kids detransition? Only you can't ever " go back to normal", just left with sterility, low sex drive, inability to orgasm, health complications, then they go shooting kids and thumping old ladies!

Minorities should be considered, but they should NEVER be allowed to dictate to the majority.

I remember growing up keenly watching athletics and constantly hearing about how scrupulous governing bodies had to be to test athletes for drugs and how even innocent medication could potentially disqualify people. Fast-forward a couple of decades and this is where we are.

That NZ weightlifter qualified for the Olympics at nearly 50 years old. No 50 year old woman would have qualified. Even at that advanced age he out qualified much younger women.

The maximum male lung capacity is 6 litres and the average female is 4.5 litres. Those born biologically male (XY), therefore have a significant advantage over those born biologically female (XX), regardless of hormone status. The differences in pelvic and knee anatomy result in different loads and frequencies of injury between the sexes. The female pelvis is wider with a tendency to femoral neck anteversion, resulting in an intoeing gait. The female lower limbs tend to be shorter and this combined with the wider pelvis results in a greater Q angle at the knees. Female athletes carry an increased risk of anterior cruciate ligament rupture of between 3 to 8 times that of male athletes, depending on the sport played.

The easiest way to fix this (maybe not the fastest way though) is for women in ANY competition where there is an XY chromosome male competing, just boycott the event, everyone of them, when there's no one to race against no one is gauna watch it when no one watches the governing body starts losing money 💸 then watch trans bans kicking in , if I was a woman competitor I would be making a very loud scene at any event they tried to put a guy in with me.
Indeed. Decades ago, Germany and a couple other countries tried to cheat in the Olympics by putting men in as "women", and got found out. They were severely chastised and fined or chastised after getting caught. They KNEW the men would win over the women, THATS why they did it.

The male weight lifter was in his 40s. How many females over 40 qualified to enter the female weightlifting competition? Answer: zero. Female weightlifters are in their 20s.
Perhaps if people feel they cannot play sport as the gender they were born as, this should be recognized as a disability and the transgender category would be more appropriate as a para-olympian category.

Trans people should have a platform of their own, so instead of male and female have male female and transgender.
Isn't the real subject at hand the problem of male aggression, together with the male lack of moral consciousness. Why is there no men's movement defending women?
Ironically I find more and more women supporting this so-called male aggression. Most men are shouted down on these issues by women themselves.
Many men are glorying in this unfortunately. There are ones who will stand with women on this but many say, " you wanted equality..." They blame feminists as if that makes it okay for ordinary women to have to share women's single sex spaces with men in drag.
