Like its Core series relation, the affordable PRS SE Custom 24-08 expands upon the tonal palette of the original Custom 24 with two mini-toggle, coil-split switches. The toggles give you the option to transform each of the guitar’s 85/15 “S” humbuckers (with their resonance fine-tuned using proprietary TCI tech) into actual single-coils-a move that provides a total of eight different pickup configurations.
“I love having that full, round humbucker sound, and then being able to switch to single-coil mode to open up the top end and add what I call ‘breath’ to the tone,” says Grammy-winning guitarist/producer Justus West-who is no stranger to Guitar Center, as he was a finalist in our 2016 “OnStage with Vince Gill” competition. “If I’m clashing with any instruments in a mix, instead of messing with EQ, I can simply change the toggle switch and get a sound with less low end or less treble. With the pickup-selector switch set to the middle to run both pickups simultaneously, I can even get four different sounds from that one position.”
The versatile PRS SE Custom 24-08 offers a flame-maple veneer over a mahogany body, a Wide-Thin profile maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets and a PRS Patented tremolo. “This is a must-have guitar,” adds West. “Tone-wise, there are a lot of options, and the neck feels incredible.”

I’ve got that guitar (in the tobacco sunburst finish). Getting some extra validation from seeing Justus playing one. Love that guy!
Nice touch, Justus. Pleasant chops. Melodic even. Thanks.
Just here to watch Justus play 👌🏽
So much of what you said is so above me, Wow you sound great. That Blood Orange looks wicked. Obviously I am a beginner,, but looking to pull the trigger on a SE CE 24
Great review, thank you!
AWESOME!!!🌍💯
I have last year's version of this guitar. It's up there with the nicest guitars I've owned, which includes a couple Gibson LP Studios and several Epiphone LPs. The nicest guitar I own is a strat partscaster. Sorry Orville... sorry Paul. Thank you, Leo. 🤘
Even this guy knows the best way to learn the guitar is to keep flipping switches. I've had this guitar for almost a year and though I enjoy the sound of it, the options are almost overwhelming. Especially for a beginner.
Pick one. I suggest the neck humbucker. Play. Work the volume. Forget all those other shiny bits. Just play. Do that for a month, or a few weeks, and then flip one switch. Play. Enjoy.
What AMP is he using?
I'm faced with a decision. Which guitar should I choose? The price is the same for both.
SE CE or SE Custom 24-08? Both 2024 Models.
I have the 24-08 and I love it, have never tried the SE CE so I don't know how good it is but would definitely recommend getting the 24-08
what should i get, tele or this prs? at the same price
Dude if you want versatility the PRS is best. I got a 24-08 and it's perfect. I've tried a lot of teles, they're better for blues but in my opinion uncomfortable and just doesn't let me get the deep tones for metal. But hey try what you can at a guitar store
A Tele is great for everything. That said I have this PRS, but I also have a Tele. The PRS is a fantastic guitar. Get yourself into a shop and try both.
Good thing that hat has a chin strap in case of a rogue wind…
Nah I'll stay with my high end 2021 epiphones and my Gibson
Ok
Good for you.
That is for sharing. We were all wondering what you were up to.
