Strangely enough I did this and noticed the same thing (watermark gone but I can't use personalization)
However my PC died on me after a couple months so I replaced the motherboard , RAM, and CPU. When turning the pc on for the first time it said windows was corrupt and needed to be reinstalled. Quick reinstall of windows and to my surprise it was now fully activated. No watermark AND more importantly personalization was available.
So what I'm thinking is maybe if you use this command prompt code to remove the watermark and then do a repair of your windows installation you can trick it into giving you a fully licensed copy of windows for free

i've read comments complaim about just removing the watermark and not being able to personalize, but, you dont really need that, for example, to put on dark mode you have to change the value of some keys in the Themes/Personalize folder thing in regedit, and to change the desktop background you can download the background you want and right click, the option to set it will be there

7/10. It was straight to the point in general, but it missed us some important shortcuts, like win+r to access run, or the fact that you can just type the direction in the registry editor topbar: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\svsvc
Also, the overall speed of the talk was kind of slow, it kind of repeted itself, showing he had no script. Please, take this honest review positively, I encourage you to improve by pointing out the mistakes :)

Thanks for helping me get rid of that pesky watermark. What MS has done is really irritating me. My key WAS valid. It was a refurb computer with a refurb key and I put this computer on the shelf after I bought it about 4 or 5 years ago and never fired it up. I saved it for the day I would need another box and yesterday was the day. I reckon it had been so long that the refurb company or MS or ??? made the decision my key was invalid. MS wants me to pay $139 for a "legit" copy of Win10 home and I just don't want to be ripped off. I only paid $40 for the machine. The watermark is gone but after reading the comments I learned that this version of MS crapware is not activated. Your skills at digging into the bowels of this crapware is impressive and you have my admiration. Thank you very much for your efforts. Did you ever find the work around for actually activating Win10? Why not put up a Patreon link on your video? I would gladly chip in because I believe you should be rewarded for your efforts.

You're key was likely and ussualy is an OEM and those speciffically are only registered to that computer/mobo, You got a new Mobo you ghotta get a new OEM key for it or you can just purchase a retail key and activate it on as many systems as you want. OEMs are fixed to that hardware and you can use the OEM as many times as you want as long as it's the same system don't matter what hardware you change out unless it's the mobo.
And tbh you don't really need to activate windows unless you jsut want to get rid of that water mark and customize it but you can easily get around the customization it's jsut the watermark.
Usefull tip. If press SV it will give the words starting with SV

this is just to remove watermark but if you want you can change backgrounds mannualy by downloading on internet or wallpaper engine which I have on my videos

Disable your internet completely and activate windows using the following key:
VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
Make sure you are not connected to the internet before you do this or it will not work. This gives you free windows 10 pro so that you can do whatever you want in windows but you still need to remove the watermark thingy through the registery

Regedit removes the watermark activation on the desktop and cannot activate the OS

If you have a friend or family member with a windows, you can use their product key. It will activate windows, remove the watermark, and allow you to use the full settings features. Including changing the background.

There's an even easier way, just use the MAS script. Just a single command in powershell and you can use it for office too.
