Matilda was my idol as a kid. I found that book when I was six and I've read it cover to cover like twenty times. She was literally everything I ever wanted to be. I'm so glad I grew up reading that book. It left such a genuinely strong impression on me and it has such a special place in my heart. She was so cool, she didn't take anybody's shit, and from a tender age, neither did I. matilda was more of a feminist icon and role model for me than literally every disney princess and I'll stand by that for the rest of my life.

I know. I read the book as a kid. I treated the novel as an entertaining read than anything I could glean life lessons from back then.
