Today I would like to talk a bit about introverts, and how they are sometimes under-appreciated in society.
Some people misconstrue the quietness of introverts as the sign of depression; their love for solitude as social rudeness or arrogance; and their mindfulness of others as the lack of spine and ambition.
However, such people misunderstand the core nature of an introvert. These thoughtful and quiet individuals have a profound impact on the world around them. Their introspection inevitably leads to character growth and inner strength; their empathy and understanding become the source of power and resilience; their deep thinking, problem-solving skills lay the foundation for innovative ideas and fresh perspectives. Not to mention that they are diligent, attentive to details and a pleasure to work with, due to their non-conflict nature!
And remember, that introverts are usually very friendly with people they like. If such an intensely private individual doesnโt talk to somebody or tries to avoid them, they might just simply not like that person ๐ So it never hurts to take a page out of an introvertโs book and self-reflect.

I have found that I, as an introvert, am very extroverted with the people I care to engage.
I just don't give what I have to give to just anyone.
So, those I don't care to engage call me an introvert, when the reality is that I am profoundly selective.
I do and I also find fitting in a bit challenging but once I set my mind on it I can manage to survive..
P.S.: I strongly dislike big crowded places since I feel out of place..

I just watched a video about city architecture where they said we can build livable cities again. Sorry, not possible. This scene here is appealing because we know, can sense, feel that everything is OLD (Old Europe). WE WANT OLD, NOT FAKE OLD. Why do we want old? Because it's a link back into the past, i.e., stepping into an old cafe is going in the right direction. It feels good to go in the right direction -- now more than ever.

Totally with you. Human scale is wonderful. We can all relate to that. And even the AI scenes for "music to study by" etc... often show cosy rooms with a dog or a cat and a real fire burning in the grate. I have a small apartment in an old building (only 8 flats), on the ground floor with a wood burning stove. That is my biggest bonus ever. I didn't put a stove on my list when flat hunting because I didn't think they existed any more, but when I walked into the flat and saw the stove, that clinched the deal.

I agree. Knock offs arenโt the real thing. They tried that in China, building European towns. Las Vegas has European knock off architecture too. The Old World is the best civilization and has it all. Art, architecture, culture, food, bad weather and therefore AMBIENCE. Sunny weather has no ambience.

My own Netherlands.. Having sadly left my family over 20 years ago as a young lad then venturing out into the world in ignorance led by adventure and love, it is still my home and I still miss it. In a way it's like I died on that day, but I still linger on this Earth. Roaming without a sense of feeling at home, wherever I go. Was it all worth it?, in all honesty.. I don't know. Maybe time will tell. Until then I continue to waking up in the morning with the sense of panic in my heart that I possibly will never return home.
Consider going back home if it's possible for you some day. Life passes too fast to spend it looking back and regreting. Maybe returning would end that panic feeling, that is your own body giving signs. May you find your peaceful path in life.

I've sat in just such a cafe in New York, and many years ago. Saying good bye to someone for whom my love was not enough. I didn't get drunk that night, not sure why. I just remember a vacancy in my whole being. Couldn't cry. Just empty.
