- In this video I try my best to explain the ways to tell if your guppy is a male or female (or whatever they decide to be)
Hopefully this helps answer some of the questions you may have about what gender your fish is and hope to tell.

Could you explain how early do you start to identify males and females? What age as the video didn't say. Thank you
+CrowntailHalfmoon I would give an age, but it all depends on how much you feed and what you are feeding. My fry usually start to show around 4-5 weeks, but some breeders can tell at 2-3 weeks

When you power grow the fishes they dont live as long. So u try more natural method. Thx for sharing.
@@CrowntailHalfmoon Yes 100% correct! I try to grow fish that I would want to buy so that when I give away or sell them the new owner will have them for longer than normal, and the fish will be happier!
@@GuppyGuru I have some that would turn 7 weeks tomorrow and we found the first spot today. three look like they will be males because of coloring but no other signs yet.

So do males have bigger tails? Or is it bigger than the females.
Or the other way around.
It depends on the type some males have smaller tails then the females
What you could do Is take all the fry and put in one tank. Whoever gets pregnant is female ,so place all the females in one tank and place males in another tank.
My guppy gave birth threeeee times I’m trying to separate them all but all I see is females I have over 150 fry in one tank Because I can’t figure it out 🤦🏻♀️
It is possible you do have all females, but you may have to give it another week to make sure
How to breed only male guppy?
I am not able to be sure about the sex of my guppies but all they long they keep on chasing selected partners they made are they just males playing or it might be they are mating ?
it could be a bit of both, but if they are both males its fun, male/female then mating yes!

Im finding it hard. Got a few that look like a male but also looks like it has a gravid spot as well 🤷🏻♂️
Give it a bit more time they still might be too young. Also look at the anal fin that usually is easier

A healthy guppy can live up to 2 years, but most will live 1-1.5 years

Yes, the golden rule is 1 male to 3 females, but 12 works too!

It could be dropsy, I would do a fast on the tank to see if the fish can pass any blockage.
I recommend at least 1 or 2 days of fasting a week on your fish
Ok so according to this video I'm screwed... the fry my kids just got I have like 3-4 males I can see and about 10 females... those are the ones just old enough for me to sex... :/
