Life vests / life jackets if you don't know how to SWIM. Tragedy for sure, but one that didn't have to happen.

People , if you're on a boat wear a life vest. Especially if you're a newbie.

Especially, since you can't swim. Even then you should always wear a life vest

I can’t understand someone in Florida not knowing how to swim or float.

It is very sad and I hope this let's us all know that going out in a boat should be left to those who are experienced.

To think you have to get in the water holding on to an anchor to drop the anchor, I'm sorry that is just plain ignorance or having 0 common sense
and nothing to do with experience or lack of.
not to mention knowing the anchor is not even tied to the boat.
Sad as it is to say this lady's ignorance cost these 2 people their lives.
But I digress maybe she knew these 2 males couldn't swim and wanted to get rid of them.
Seems kind of fishy that she panicked enough to make them think she was drowning yet is the only one found alive wading in the water.

Shouldn’t the anchor have already been tied to the boat that would make a lot of sense to do I would think ‼️

Learn drown proofing and swim using side strokes. I'm a certified open water diver and wear a slightly inflated BC (buoyancy compensator) vest because it's more momfortable than a class 2 vest while I'm fishing. My condolences for the families' loss, such a tragedy.

suspicion to me. this is weird.
I would be asking for footage from campers. this makes no sense.
nobody would jump in water knowing they can’t swim. even if they knew someone was drowning. My opinion: it’s like if you had Claustrophobic. no matter how much you’re pushed to go into a small area. The body saying Oh hell no. My opinion: we’re they pushed into the water? what the hey happened.
The female saying but I’m a better swimmer! so I’m alive. when she states that she was in the water first. & no life jackets. Oh please.
if I couldn’t swim definitely putting on a life jacket then jumping into the water.

I remember those. We called them ski belts, probably because we wore them water skiing.
They were so cool & such a relief after those awful orange life jackets with all the straps.
The Orange ones always ended up around your ears. The only "flotation" was around the back of your neck connected to two narrow 'pillows' going down your chest. The rest was straps & metal buckles. Ugh! I hated them.
