The Jellicle Ball rages eight times a week at the Neil Simon Theatre where Andrew Lloyd Webber's ''Cats'' is running through the end of 2017. The musical features an ensemble of accomplished Broadway dancers who make Andy Blankenbuehler's strenuous choreography seem easy. But as any true theater cat knows, it's harder than it looks. TheaterMania poked around backstage before a performance one day to see exactly how the magic happens, including a trip to the ballet bar and a lift call where the show's most impressive maneuvers are honed. I love the scene when Munkstrap and Macavity fought! It was so cat like when they circled each other!
Yeah! That's definitely one of the moments were I prefer Andy's choreography!

I wish I could be on Cats one day unfortunately I have scoliosis so I would be unable to :(
Hmmm...maybe Grizabella? I mean, no offense (and I really mean it) but I would think a physical deformity might be an asset for that role as long as you can still sing well and do what little physical stuff is involved. Most casting calls for her just specify that you need to be able to belt an Eb and act. But I am no expert.
@@Ms3queen yeah thats a good idea but I don't think i could sing that well lol. I've recently been diagnosed with more stuff so I couldn't ever perform like them or for that long but it would be cool.😊
Why have they cited Andy Blankenbuehler's choreo in the description? Cats is the work of Gillian Lynne.
Gillian choreographed the original show, this version is choreographed by Andy
the Victoria Lift confuses me, is it really at the end of the Jellical Ball? I did not see Cats live , sadly only on DVD
I dont know if that's a part of the original choreography or not, but in the revival, there is a Victoria lift at the end of "The Jellicle Ball"
