It's sad that Big Bear's role wasn't as big in the actual game as originally planned... His dialogue about how Brian's death changed the gang for the worst and led to his addiction was heartbreaking... Like CJ really did mess up the neighborhood for the worse when he left.

Or they should, at the very least, know what they're talking about. Comparing violent video games to alcohol and tobacco is absurd. They're a form of entertainment media that are not designed for children to play. If a parent lets their kid play a violent video game and that kid does something fucked up, then the government shouldn't be lumping blame onto the developer of said game. Same thing happened with Columbine and everyone blaming shit like Doom and Marilyn Manson. They're too scared to address the actual problem of mental health and shitty parenting, so they just go after a scapegoat.

No other game has given me the same feeling San Andreas gave me when I first played it. San Andreas, from 2004, will always be the greatest game of all time.

I'm so glad that "feature" is gone now. Of course IV didn't have it to where you could get on your wheels from a stand still like V does but at least you could get another car and knock it back over without it bursting into flames after a couple seconds.
CheeseCoatedChopper Yeah. Even when playing GTA V it took me a long time to get over that doomed feeling when I flip a car. As unrealistic as that ability is, I love it.
I think the creators taking out the dialogues where Smoke denies association with Tenpenny was actually successful in making Smoke's betrayal in 'The Green Sabre' MUCH less obvious. I didn't see that shit coming ( with Ryder on top of that ) the first time I played the game, was equally as shocked as CJ.

I don't know if that's necessarily true though. There are still plenty of times where Smoke is obviously presented to the player as suspicious, and a lot of that removed dialogue paints him even more as a conflicted man who feels bad about lying and betraying his friends, but can't stop himself from climbing to a position of power.
I always thought that final confrontation with Smoke didn't really have much impact or give many answers as to why he did what he did, while with this restored dialogue you can actually think back and get some from what he said to you all those missions ago.

The Beta\ Pre- Release version of CJ resembles his voice actor, Young Maylay. The final CJ that we all know and love resembles Dr. Dre. I think rockstar decided to tweak it because how Ryder and Sweet resembled NWA members. (Eazy E and Cube)

I remember my first time seeing this game: Christmas of 2004, my brother had gotten it as a present along with a cheat code book for the PS2, I sat and watched him play it for hours, I went onto his profile and accidentally saved the game after putting cheats on, he was pissed!!

Keeping the dialogue with CJ asking Smoke why Tenpenny was at his house would just make Smoke’s eventual betrayal rather obvious. Not that it wasn’t already foreshadowed in the final version with C.R.A.S.H. appearing at Smoke’s house in the first place!
I hope one day GTA San Andreas is re-released with all the originally cut content available, that would be epic!

The two gangs that were cut from the final version game were probably the Seville Boulevard Families and the Temple Drive Families.

24:33 The vomiting animation is actually used in the final game in the mission "Don Peyote". If you pull over when one of the passengers asks you to, he'll get out of the car to vomit then gets back in the car.
Also when you eat too much food at a restaurant, CJ will throw up.

I always wondered why CJ yelled so loudly in Photo Opportunity.
Aside from the mentioned cut beta elements in this video, I was also disappointed due to more features and elements not making return from Vice City. I mean, diversity of death animations, hardware shops, police spikes, sounds of bikes, helicopters and guns (they were WAY better back in Vice City. Not to mention that each weapon had its own sound, which doesn't apply to SPAS-12 and M4 in San Andreas, which share sounds with the regular Shotgun and AK-47 respectively. That feels like a huge step backwards)... and more.
However, about the video, I'm glad that they scrapped Big Smoke's lines. That makes his betrayal more touching and unpredictable.
San Andreas was a huge game for it's time, some stuff was bound to get cut.

Wireless controllers were a thing back then, what do you mean? There has been wireless controllers used for gaming consoles since the 80's. Gamecube that was released in 2001 had Wavebird controllers that were fully wireless. Atari had some wireless controllers for their 2600 back in 1977, and they had an unreleased 2700 in 1981 that only used wireless controllers, it had no controller ports at all.

@@gangstalkingcanada5920 Big Smoke and the C.R.A.S.H were the only antagonists back then but i think due to voice actor problems, they decided to kill ryder by making him a betrayer
I can see why they removed the dialog with Smoke and CJ. It made his betrayal WAY too obvious. A big part of SA was the shock of finding out Ryder and Smoker were traitors.
While there's always that one guy that says "Pffft it was always obvious!" it doesn't get more obvious as CJ saying "I don't trust you."

Stuff like this is one of the best reasons for a proper, all-out remake; to put in all the stuff that couldn't make it into the original.

In all honesty and I’m not hating on gta 5 but it lacked story, things you can do in the open world, and the characters are not as interesting. Gta San Andreas is still my absolute favorite gta game to this day and a lot of people who disagree with me seem to think it has only nostalgia related but that’s not true. I just personally have a way better time playing this gta game more then 5. The only thing that gta 5 has better then San Andreas is the graphics, it’s a beautiful game don’t get me wrong but it’s lacking a lot of things you can do after the game is done. No offense to gta 5 but it’s story is like number 5 or 6 on my list. Vice City, San Andreas, gta 4, Vice City Stories all had a better story in my opinion.

I really hate the ESRB! GTA SA would have been unbelievably incredible 100/100! undisputed as the most amazing game out there for the PS2, Xbox, and PC! GTA 5 is crap compared to San andrease even now. Damn I would have killed to play the original untouched uncensored crystal clean version of the game! There needs to be actual *FREEDOM* in the creation of games. BUT DAMN! THE GAME WAS WOOHOO! Mind blowing! even the 2004 version I got on PS2 rocked my core, I played days and nights of this game. 50 cent bulletproof, Scarface the world is yours, and GTA were a combo made in holy matrimony!
Rollerz leader eh Gta 5 isn't a terrible game, but Gta San Andreas is still better. If you were to say Gta 5 sucks then go play Mafia 3 and you'll change your mind. Let's just hope the next grand theft auto adds multiple cities,nightclubs,girlfriends,accessible restaurants,able to rob houses,casinos,jet packs,Gta 4 physics,MORE DAMN INTERIORS IN FREEROAM, a good storyline, better soundtrack, a huge 300 sq mile map, story mode dlc, loan sharks etc.

A lot more game developers are getting edgier and using sex, drugs, etc. The new Walking Dead game lets you choose whether or not you want to smoke weed, a game called Lovekiller lets you play as a lesbian and have sex with girls, and Watch Dogs 2 features a trans gendered political figure. What a time to be alive ! ☺

NukeCorruption Oh please. Look, another uppity PC gamer. As many huge games that have been released and will be released on console (At least PS4), that sounds like a load of crap. If that was the case PS2 & Xbox wouldn't have been able to handle San Andreas. The reason GTA V didn't have a bigger map is because of GTA Online. They didn't want to deal with making online, keeping it up and adding a bunch more content to make a bigger story mode/free roam map and then having to keep up with that too. They felt like online was enough. Rockstar explained this years ago.
