Fuckin miss you Mac.
ZOSH ! 😢
Mac transcended all boundaries, he was a great man. I learned a lot form his music and he was never a hater. Such a genuine, natural master of his craft.
Yooo this my fav CZcamsr
Miss him bad. He was a legend.
we absolutely miss Mac so much.
there was supposed to be a third sequence album that tied the three together that never had the chance to be made it would’ve been called “til infinity” to make all three albums make out “swimming in circles til infinity” which is the reoccurring theme in swimming and circles and would’ve been in the third. mac had a musical genius it’s truly tragic his life was cut so short he had a lot more coming
that’s awesome, where you hear that from anyway? wanna check that out
But what if it did came to light, music was his life... death is Infinite.
-long live MAC 👼
Exactly! Most people don't know he had a third album tying swimming and circles together, and it was going to be a more hip-hop/rap style album unlike swimming and circles which were laid back and chill. I wish he could have finished it.
@@John_Peterson yet here you are watching videos about him
@@John_Peterson his music inspires more people to do drugs than other rappers repeating “molly Percocet” over and over again? Mac tells the truth about addiction, the dark truth that addiction is a horrible disease and he has never encouraged people to take drugs… if anything he steered them away from it or helped people who are addicts feel like they can relate with someone
Nobody in my life will ever understand how important Mac’s music is to me. In a way I think that makes it even more personal and special.
i understand
Same lol
I understand. He got me through a lot in life...
I understand you my guy. Stay up
I understand man. I understand better than anyone else.
the way circles ends incompletely on an unstable chord, then intentionally starts again on a stable chord to complete a literal circle is fucking insane. mac and his producer are legit musical masterminds and it's definitely fair to say we'll never get someone like him again.
R.I.P to the goat.
IGOR did it first
RIP mac miller
It's almost like he's giving us a wink saying - don't forget me, keep playing, keep swimming
“Keep playing, keep swimming”, that was beautiful

Or maybe he knew he was gonna be Ariana sacrifice 😶

I got chills when I read keep playing,, keep swimming
"We may never know if this was intentional." Come on bud, we've all watched docs and segments where Mac is endlessly obsessing over keys in a studio, trying to find that perfect touch. This was his posthumous gift to us.
He could interview Brion whom is alive and kickin
I think you’re absolutely right. He was just a genius.
Yeah but there was actually supposed to be a third album to close the circle, a full out rap album.
smurfeNn how u kno? Can u send a link where u read ittt
@@chaching5995 Look it up it was suppose to be called Til Infinity. Swimming in Circles Til Infinity
its the way “once a day” can also be resolved into “come back to earth” so when theyre looped together its literally like youre “swimming in circles”
That's what I was saying! I mean the circles to circles works but going from circles all the way around to swimming - that's the real deal! Incredible
Ok this ACTUALLY blew my mind!!
@@forevercoco1 Now if you listen to once a day and turn all the way to doors from GO:OD AM it also matches. And in my opinion it makes perfect sense.

I remember laughing because I was so gone that I didn't realized I've been listening to the same album for the past 2.5 hours. I remember being in a rollercoaster of emotions through out the whole album. Thank you Mac for taking me thru that journey. RIP gone too soon

@@capricornucopiuh thank you for this, probably the last time I took acid
The hard part of coming to terms with Macs passing is that he literally left us a masterpiece and it was proof that he was only getting better and was the best he’s ever been musically at the time of his passing. A true legend and his name will live on for generations through his music.
This fact makes me the most sad
I say this exact thing to my homies all the time & ill never stop so neither should you, keep saying his name & playing his art & letting people know what a legend the world lost that day

the reason i love his music so much is because it feels like every time you listen to one of his songs, you find a detail or a certain line that you didn’t really hear/never paid attention to before, and it’s always something you need to hear in order to feel understood or just have him put what you’re feeling into words. Just beautiful!
When i listen to mac miller or watch interviews or breakdowns like this i wish i realized him before. His story is so beautiful and sad at the same time but he became one of my favorite rappers sadly only after he passed away. He had so much talent was so versatile and putted his heart and soul in his music and albums. There aren’t many artists who can do that these days. He is forever integrated in my playlists 🤟🏼 R.I.P
Same with me! Now, it’s like I’m addicted to to his music and the meanings behind his songs. I really never knew him before except for his song “Donald Trump”. That was an interesting one for sure.

I’ve always listened to “So it goes” after I learned it’s supposedly the last song he listened to before dying. The ending was exactly what I pictured his soul leaving his body and into heaven. The ending perfect puts that vision into musical notes and it’s always such a beautiful part of any song to hear, yet very sad.

@@peterschsler1145 Mac posted to his instagram story the morning he died with the camera showing only his record player, playing the ending of "So It Goes" as it closes out. Circles really was the perfect send-off. RIP Mac...
This video is so good, really highlights the beauty of Swimming and Circles. It all shows just how creative and talented Mac was, and it just makes me even more sad that he’s gone now. He was one of the most creative and talented artists of this generation. He was taken from us too soon, RIP.
I had a good friend named Jeremy. We used to call him Big Jerm before we even knew Mac Millers producer at Rostrum was Big Jerm. Jeremy was 7 years older than I, and couldn't get into newer music(This was around 2012). I showed him Mac. He loved it. We used to sing Senior Skip Day and Knock Knock at work acapella. I felt honored that he included Mac in his personal music repertoire. Jeremy unexpectedly passed away on January 19th 2019(Mac's birthday) four months after Mac passed. Jeremy was an avid poker player throughout his life. At his ceremony his brother handed out poker cards to everyone out of a brand new deck and see what you draw and keep it. I got 3 and 7. August 3rd Swimming release date. Sept. 7th- Death. The two are forever intertwined/synonymous in my mind. The nostalgia I get from listening to Mac reminds me of both of them and it's an over whelming feeling of emotions to be honest. Life is crazy. Keep your head up everyone. We've only just begun.
edit: Another song Jeremy loved that we used to sing acapella at work was Circles by Soul Coughing(Check it out!). Then Mac's last album is called Circles. Life is still crazy.
The universe works in mysteriously beautiful ways, it’s truly unfathomable. RIP man 🙏🏻

all I can do now is tear up and have goosebumps... he is gone but i wish i was able to hear his music earlier than i did cause now i am just missing him... swimming and circles, especially circles is so close to my heart. the first time i listened to it, it drained my energy and that whole day all i did was to listen to it cause it was addicting. whenever i listen to it, the feelings never change. no matter how happy i am as of the moment, when i play the album, i just find myself lurking at the corner of my room, thinking about life. my energy is drained and i feel like crying but i can't. it may look as a sad scene for others' perspective but i find peace in it. i appreciate being alone often times cause circle album accompanies me very well. all the thoughts i can't put into words Mac wrote it into a beautiful album, i will forever treasure... i love u Mac, fly high!
So I rarely if ever leave CZcams comments but I believe this is worth sharing. When I was getting ready to move away for college my Grandfather, who I was very close with, was dying. After I said goodbye to him for what I knew would be the final time, I played So It Goes on my walk home (we lived down the street at the time). Aside from the general tone and sentiment of the song, I never knew why I played it as I didn't listen to it frequently, but I'll never forget it. Learning about Mac's intentions with the outro on So It Goes at 2:08 literally made me cry because I just now learned that it was meant to represent ascension to heaven for the first time a year and a half later. Great video, and thank you for helping me to learn about this, as it brings new meaning to So It Goes which I now know having listened to wasn't a coincidence.
RIP MAC
He left us with the best album of 2020 and something we can repeatedly visit when our mental health is struggling or we feel we can’t just break the cycle
So crazy that you mention it. I've been struggling with mental health all my life and it got significantly worse after I got bullied in grammar school for years. I moved to the other side of my country to get away from all the toxic shit. I only really started listening to Mac's music and interviews around four months ago when I moved here (thank god, his death would have broken me back then, there's not a day where I don't think about him now). Even though his life's so different I have never felt so deeply understood. Never has music hit such a deep connection although it's always been my coping mechanism. Whenever I feel like I'm absolutely alone in this world I sit outside on the fire escape stairs outside my appartement and listen to circles and suddenly I feel embraced, held and understood. I found him when I really needed him and I just wish he was here to live a little longer and not end up the way he never wanted to end up. But I deeply believe he knew deep down.

I think the covers to these two albums are so crazy, swimming it seems like he’s sitting in a coffin hence the dirty feet and the window in the sky like he’s in heaven. Then on circles he has a picture of himself as an apparition, almost like he’s passed on but he’s still here.
I think it’s more like head in the clouds and feet on the ground meaning how he’s battling with addiction while trying to stay connected with reality; however that is an interesting take on what the cover symbolizes

Yes everyone recognizes them just because Tammy and her boo Jenae don't listen to the words doesn't mean people don't hear them this is why people gravitate towards certain artists because of the deeper message

Don't take my word for it. Go back and listen to the music. All of it. Plug in the idea to swimming and circles. GO:OD am coincidentally spells go od.
There's nothing you could tell me otherwise. The last 6 years of his life he spent rapping about dying, should've died already, longing for closure on what happens in death.
Plug the idea into the titles of songs. "Ascension" "come back to earth" "stay".
Im not saying it's a happy thought. I'm not saying I'm glad he's gone. It just seems to me that he had been ready to go for a long time, and the fact that he rapped about exactly how he died doesn't come off as coincidental.
"That fentanyl it numb me"... So the OD was his first exposure to the substance or? "I wash these pills down with liquor and fall" anyone who does opiates knows the two don't mix.
"Drug habit like Seymour Hoffman will put me in a coffin", then literally dies on the same mix Seymour Hoffman died from.
I mean, come on my guy. Literally every song is about him dying.
What really hits it home is that line "it's a shame my tragedy my masterpiece"... I don't know how many more of these I need to point out to get my point across.
Let's say it wasn't on purpose for argument sake, he was ready to go at the very least. And personally, I wouldn't be the one to demand a tortured soul stay longer than they can bare because I want their music.
It's hard to understand why someone so successful would want to leave, but I think he made it pretty obvious he didn't want to stay.
"Well I'm way too young, to be getting old"
Suspend your disbelief
Please do Swimming or Circles (or a combination) for next season!! Then post it on Mac Miller Reddit because there are like 45,000 people who would listen to it several times through! Amazing Reddit for those who have never been. So kind.
Yes there are almost 70,000 and this video has only 7k views
I don’t have Reddit, but would download it simply for this. What do I do? Just search Mac Miller on there??
@@bubbleswuvsskw3rl yes
@@bubbleswuvsskw3rl just search mac milled amd there will appear r\macmiller
@Orion Raka thank you 😊
The animations throughout the video are soooo nice - awesome vid!
I just got into Mac about a year ago. Can’t believe how much beauty I missed up until now. Thankful I ventured his direction. RIP Sir. You live on forever
Beautiful video. One last thing: The way Mac says “So it goes” during the chorus of the last song sounds like he’s saying “circles, circles, circles”
Great ear!
Whoa!!! Never thought of that
wait ur telling me it wasn’t circles this whole time
According to a close friend of Mac’s, John Geiger, a designer from Pittsburgh, there was supposed to be a third album. The title was supposed to be “Til Infinity” completing the trilogy of “Swimming in Circles Til Infinity.” Inferring from the three singles he dropped before Swimming released, which were each focused on singing, rapping and a mix of both, Til Infinity would have been the rap focused album. A truly amazing mind that was taken far far too soon. Fly high Pittsburgh Kid.
I wouldn’t write it off, I feel as though there is more of Mac’s brilliance still to be released
@@dan_2846 ig thats it. damn...
Mac miller has tons of song unreleased. how far done and studio album worthy who knows. but ive heard he knew he might die one day and he prepared for it by recording a bunch of stuff.
@@Shaboomquisa he made 9 albums before settling on GO:OD AM. I wish his Balloonerism project was officially released but if you haven’t heard it you should definitely try to find it. But yeah I’ve heard he has like 10,000 unreleased songs or some shit.
@@tristans_ Yeah, I also heard crazy numbers like that. Apparently, he wrote like 400 songs in the preparation of Faces. I read or heard somewhere, he told his close friends to release all or most of this stuff in case he might pass. I really hope we get to listen to only a portion of this stuff one day.
this video is a masterpiece in content and visuals. what a blessing to watch
We love & miss you Mac. Thank you for this Cole. Been a fan of the podcast for a ling time.
Mac was a musical genius.. wouldn’t be surprised if this was intentional.
Above all, he was a good man.helped endless amounts of up incoming artists.
I have been trying to explain this to people since the album came out but I don’t have the platform. I am sitting here with tears in my eyes. I can’t believe someone finally brought this to light. Miss this man every single day
This video just made me cry. Great work. Mac was so damn special. Its awesome seeing somebody else care so much about the art he created. One of the best discographies of any young artist in his generation imo. RIP MAC.
Same, i feel it to my soul and makes me tear up
Top 5 youtube video ive ever watched.
Thank you for your curiosity and effort to make this
That final chord on circles also fits nicely with the start of swimming.
In the Deluxe version of Circles, the song after “Once a Day” starts with Once a Day’s instrumental from the ending in reverse
I really want to believe this video is accurate cos it's amazing, but can't help but feel like this is the more likely reason Once a Day finishes on that note...
@@pewpew-fb3qc ig its just like bro said in the video, doesnt matter whether it was intentional, its there :')
@@510nico4 very true man!
@@pewpew-fb3qc Personally, it more relates to 'Come Back To Earth' rather than Circles. 'So it Goes' absolutely links to Circles, and I believe that it goes from Circles through to Once A Day, then after that it goes to CBTE, all the way through to So it Goes.
this was honestly such a beautiful video. well done.
Man, this video is perfect, and I love how the end of the video and its beginning form a circle.
Last year I went to the Pittsburgh pop up event for the release of the album circles. The team put my fan art up in the gallery and they had a private listening room, that was where I listened to the album for the first time. When the album finished, I had a similar thought of it feeling incomplete. At the time I felt incomplete (I was struggling with my own addictions) I listened to the album on repeat on an 8 hour flight back home. It wasn’t until this day where I finally understand it was always complete. Quite recently I finally gained control of my life again and I’m free of my addictions. I finally feel complete too. It’s crazy to me that one year later it all came full circle.... thank you for making this video. Rest In Peace Mac Miller.
I feel like Mac did this intentionally because on the hook for Ave Marie he mentions elements of both swimming and circles so I wouldn’t be too surprised if the concept was already in his head in 2014.
“And sinners stay still, but the merry go round, and round
It all just keeps spinning
Gotta keep swimming
Eat drink and let the merry go round
Eat drink and let the merry go round”
RIP Mac Miller
Faces is one of the greatest mixtapes in hip hop. I don't give a fuck what anyone says
Truly awesome observation. Thank you for this gem. Long live Mac

I legit started tearing up when the connection with the last and first song was made, this a great video
Amazing. Thank you so much for this video; been searching for answers while listening to the album
Cole on point with the analysis as always. I was hoping we would get a whole season on these two albums eventually, but this video alone already made me appreciate these albums even more than I already did. RIP Mac now and forever.
As always? He has just posted 1 vid prior to this 🤔
Oh he has a podcast?
@@udkc yep, look up Dissect on Spotify. it's amazing.
his whole life was a circle and the point where a circle ends is the same as it starts, his history will never end. 92 to infinity!! rest easy bro
This is how we chill, 93 till
In love with your animation style, please please keep them coming. Came for Mac stayed for the Motion.
Mac was a legend from the day he started, when i first heard him (KIDS mixtape) i instantly got hooked, his music was with me through some hard times. Still can't believe he's gone
Love how the ending of the album sounds dark like night, “once a day I fall,” and starts bright like day, “once a day I rise.” Mac really was a musical genius and we were all so lucky to be able to hear his music and watch him grow. Gone too too soon.
I discovered Mac Miller with his last album and on my worst time, even gone he helped me with my mental struggles, I would have liked to know him earlier, R.I.P.
💜
I never gave him a chance until he passed, and i beat myself up everytime i hear swimming because of it :(
The editing and animation is beautiful and so much work/effort was put into this video. Thank you :) subscribed
I'm crying, this is such a good video. I feel like it all makes so much sense now....🥺♥️
