@Viva la Francia 2 different players. Bergkamp had the technique, awareness and clinical finishing technique. Beckham just had the clinical finishing technique from anywhere on the pitch.

the thing with becks' free kicks is that, yeah there's a few other people's free kicks that have similar swerve to them but what made beckham absolutely prolific when it came to set pieces specifically was that he never sacrificed shot strength/power/speed for the incredible - almost unrealistic/physicis-bending - swerve that his kicks had.

i'm happy as a filipino player, i have played against beckham! well technically i only played for about 10-15min against LA Galaxy and they subbed him already, but still, watching him play that close and shaking his hand after the game was one of the highlights of my career!

What was so crazy about David Beckham is the whip and accuracy he got on both corners and free kicks. He was so reliable as well. Only a handful of players have that much class in set pieces and to be so consistent with it.

that goal 's historic and cool but honestly, if we re talking for beckham best offs, while iconic, its nothing special given the absolutely magnificent highlights from him. i 'd put half his long range passes/balls to people like van nistel roy or soljkaer higher than that lol. keeper was clueless that's all, his accuracy was never doubted but a half decent keeper wouldnt 've been out of position enough to concede that.
