My favourite part of the whole finale was when those two crewmen, despite knowing what Sato was going to do chose to stand by their commander and go down with the ship in an attempt to get help to save the rest of the fleet. Honor and Glory to those two pilots that stayed with Commander Sato. It is expected for a leader to do what he can to get his troops home, and keep them safe, but a soldier who will follow their leader, sharing a sacrifice, shows the bond of those men, and the their belief to their cause.
One of the things I loved about this was that the Rebels weren't saved by plot armor or the villian being stupid because the plot demanded it. The villian had a winning strategy and almost succeeded, but one of his subordinates disobeyed orders and screwed the whole thing up
Everything thrawn did was to perfection. Had Konstantine not tried to take glory for himself, thrawn would have destroyed the rebellion. Konstantine's failure allowed general Dodona to get to yavin, which led to everything else happening.
I keep coming to this because I love the music during his sacrifice. It's so triumphant and sad, epic and bittersweet. Man I wish they would release this soundtrack.
While Konstantine did ruin the plan, this does highlight Thrawn's major weakness. He is not politically adept. The Empire is full of ruthless careerists ready to sabotage fellow officers for promotion. Thrawn failed to recognize Konstantine's resent and jealousy for his position, and how he might act on it during a critical situation.

If an officer failes to obey an order alot of times its the fault of the commander thrawn should have gotten rid of him since he kept screwing up but thrawn chose to do nothing and it cost him

Problem is they’re just recolors of each other, same with the imperial officers, so they’d look the same if they took the helmets off. That’s why the rebel troopers and imperial officers have their eyes obscured, so you can’t tell they’re all the same. It’s a smart money-saving decision
This episode is probably my favourite from Rebels. The fact that we finally see Thrawn in action, the naval tactics, the music, it really feels like the essence of Star Wars permeates every square inch of this episode, and I love it.
I have to be honest at first I though it was weird that after s1 it then straight away went to needing permission from Sato to do missions, so I didn't take to him at first. But he was a hero, what's so sad about this is that after Sato and the 2 crewmembers sacrificed themselves the rebels retreated back to Atollon. I do wish the rebels had put up like an in memory wall or something to honour Sato and the crew's sacrifice.

@@96mrjones If a single Cruiser could destroy so many Big ships it kinda breaks many space battles of the previous movies, especially Rogue One and return of the Jedi. Think about how many people sacrificed themselves in Rogue One then look at what Holdo did as one person. Secondly, Sato was always clear about his actions and motives, Holdo was just a bad character to keep the audience gasping, and it's a shame because her being a saboteur would have been much cooler in my opinion, especially since the force awakens ended with the Resistance in an advantageous spot. This is my two cents.

3 tie fighters taking out a 300 meter long cruiser in 6 shots. While a smaller carrier tanks dozens of hits from a much larger interdictor is so funny and stupid. U really do have to turn ur brain off watching fight battle scenes sometimes
This is why I hate the sequel movies. It makes all this sacrifice and death pointless! The writers wove a beautiful story with amazing, loveable characters. And it was all pointless 😭

This is why Rebels is such a good show. One of the best episodes/scenes in the franchise.
Kallus was saddened that his friends on the interdictor were killed in the explosion but glad the Rebels planned paid off

3 tie fighters taking out a 300 meter long cruiser in 6 shots. While a smaller carrier tanks dozens of hits from a much larger interdictor is so funny and stupid. U really do have to turn ur brain off watching fight battle scenes sometimes
This is why I hate the sequel movies. It makes all this sacrifice and death pointless! The writers wove a beautiful story with amazing, loveable characters. And it was all pointless 😭

I don't know if they thought this was respectful or it shows the lack of imagination with the story tellers. You have Ezra, Sabine, Ahsoka, then you have a Sato that looks like some Japanese dude.

@@putinscat1208 Luke, Ben, Jan, Owen, Maximilian and Conan are real-world white guy names used by white guys in the films. And right in this scene, Konstantine is a very non-Star Wars-sounding name. I think it is a certain lack of imagination, but it's ingrained in Star Wars and a lot of other media -- TVTropes calls it the Aerith and Bob effect.
