So my group of friends did a face cam reveal a couple weeks back and one of them kinda looked like Criken, so I've been convinced he's Criken ever since. Some of them were also playing Baroney a bit after the reveals. I am now 100% convinced that I am friends with rude and mean Criken. There are many Crikens and I've found one.
I'm genuinely curious how you're supposed to play this game. I played with a party of 4 and we never got past like the third floor because you just take so much damage and never heal it. It's like playing Pokemon but there's no healing, you have one Pokemon, and if you die you delete your save data
I've played this game extensively and I know it's unforgiving for new players. The most important thing for beginners to know, I think, is to learn how to *not* take damage. For example, at low levels, a fight with a rat goes like this: you hit the rat, quickly turn back and run away to avoid its hit, then return and hit him again and repeat until he's dead. Basically how the fighting goes for most classes before they gain more experience and better equipment. Later, when you have more strength and can wear heavier armor and maybe use a shield for extra protection, you can worry about it less than at the start. If you play with more people, it's far easier at the beginning because every person can fit a niche; one can be a healer, the other a wizard for some burst damage, and a warrior to tank and earn easy experience early (you share experience with other players, so a squishy class like the wizard doesn't have to engage enemies in melee as much, just cast spells every once in a while). If you're still interested in the game, I can play with you and help you learn the basics. The game is truly a hidden gem and it's got such a small playerbase that I'd hate to see someone play it and leave it before experiencing it more, because it's so much fun after knowing how to get past the first few levels.
My screen is just piss yellow by default even with nightlight turned off and I have to use display color correction But when I run the game it reverts my color correction but only when I'm tabbed in the game.
gotta warn, barony still requires primitive port forwarding and stuff to host servers from your pc and has a very long tedious and poorly slapped together tutorial so this game is very hard to get into, let alone play with friends (i cant port forward personally, its simpler for people that can but even then a friend of mine tried to host on internet that is actually super good but it constantly crashed.) i hope the devs wake up from their slumber and give the game some tlc now that some cool guys like these are streaming it
you can use steam and such to directly connect to each other, no need to port forward anything. Also Devs aren't in a "slumber" or anything, and are constantly working on the game, theres even a Beta on Steam and Epic for the update that is hopefully soon to come out in full.

Think it's also an option on the epic game store as well to do basically the same thing, don't remember how it's done on there though. Also, I think it's peer-to-peer when doing it this way, so you're not using Steam's servers in the first place. Though this part may be wrong, I'm only like 78% certain it's peer-to-peer.

Fun fact the blindfold I believe lets you appraise items instantly, glasses increase your perception by 1 which also increases appraise speed.

Port forwarding is always necessary if the developer can't / doesn't want to host a resolving name server.
you can use steam and such to directly connect to each other, no need to port forward anything.
