  • In this video, I filmed a ride on the entire STM bus route 211: Lakeshore/Bord-du-Lac - going east between Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue in the West Island of Montreal and Lionel Groulx metro station near the downtown core of Montreal.
I am riding on STM bus registration number 40-035, which is a 2020 Nova Bus LFS Hybrid from the year 2020.
The 211 is one of the longest STM bus routes in Montreal and is my personal favourite STM bus route.
The 211 is also one of the main busses connecting the downtown part of Montreal to the West Island and vice versa.
It passes through various towns on the Island of Montreal such as where it begins, in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, and then going east it passes through Bai-D'Urfe, Beaconsfield, Pointe-Claire, Dorval, Lachine and finally ends at Lionel-Groulx metro station in the Southwest sector of Montreal.
A nice part of the route passes by Lac Saint-Louis (Lake Saint Louis) which is part of the Saint Lawrence River between Montreal and the South Shore of Montreal.
If you have never taken the 211, I highly suggest you do. It's a beautiful bus ride and very scenic. I suggest taking the bus during off peak hours to enjoy a more quiet ride.
As an interesting side note, I actually went to Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue that day to pick up an old ceiling fan from ‪@BassGuy‬ that I will be soon be giving to ‪@AlexTheFanMan‬!
This video was filmed on Monday, June 10, 2024 starting at approximately 7:41 pm Eastern Canadian Time.

I’m surprised by the “next stop” announcement in English, does this happen on the West Island routes?

The Provincial Government want 100 % electric bus in transit in 2040 because Québec produced more electricity than petrol.
Canada is still has one the most Petroleum Réserve in the World located in the Tar Sands ,However the cost of producing petroleum from there is astronomical.
Hydrogen and transport does not go well together.

Yeah so far we have the New Flyer long-range electric buses and Nova Bus short-range electric buses on the 36. We are supposed to get some Nova Bus long-range electric buses soon and some electric mini buses soon maybe.
