I watched this as a young man and didnât understand the gravity of the bond between father and son. Now, 15 yrs on, married, with a son, I finally understand. Thank you.

I never bothered to comment on a youtube video, but no words can describe how beautiful, inspirational and loving this is. Dick, your not a role model for just your son, your a role model for humanity.
This video is the reason why I started triathlon one and a half years ago. In a few weeks I am doing my first 70.3 and their story still brings tears to my eyes. Whenever I dont feel motivated or am tired, I watch this, go out running and be just thankful for the beauty that some people put into this world. Thank you Dick and Rick Hoyt for doing what you do.

who in their right mind dislikes this? 127 very sad people....this is an inspiration to a guy like me in a wheelchair disabled by multiple sclerosis. i am grateful for people like his dad who can see the person inside of a broken body and take the time to enhance their lives. more power to them both....RESPECT.
That was what I was thinking... There will always be those who hate because others love and in this instance, it's obvious there are those that lack empathy and compassion. It's not their fault, its how their made... But I guarantee, it matters not to the Hoyts or those of us who find inspiration in this amazing story.
That 127 is pale in comparison to the millions of people this guy has inspired.

They deserve moe recognition than any football player, or basketball player. They're incredible people. That is dedication to family, to life. You are both truly amazing. I am a man and I can't swim a lap on my pool, run a block or bike a mile - let alone doing all that while carrying a person with me.
I am a father and "I don't think" I can do half of the things Dick has done for his son.

This made me cry :') my headteacher told me about this. It's so true that we don't know what we are capable of. We have no limits unless someone stops us from doing something. Give whatever you want to do in life a try and have a go because no one is stopping you :)

I ran and finished my first marathon because of these inspirational people. About 50% of the way done through the race, I didn't think I could do it. But then I thought about this video, and I kept pushing myself. I finally made it. That day was so beautiful.

I'm a single mother with two son's one of them have DMD, (Duchenne Muscular dystrophy ) and what you just saw is the pure and most amazing love from the father to his son, I don't have to much to say but God bless his hearth for the kind of love that he devote to his son to make him feel like one of us, same thing I do for my son since he was little until today and for the rest of his life... clappp clappp for all the Iron man on the earth!!!
