you don't have to say "im no expert." We know you are just presenting the very basics, and its appreciated. Keeping it simple is the best way to go.
Love it! First drift....that's my son❣️
hello momma :)
You guys are perverted.
Agreed! why can't they keep it clean??
Mr. Dyl Pickle but you like trump lol smh
I've been a stealhead/salmon
bum since 1980 , went the whole route , small creeks to big rivers to ocean
used everything from drifting eggs to fly fishing my own flies , trolling , bobbers , all of it , everything ... moved to Alaska and bought a boat and chartered for 5 years
Back in the pacific northwest now ... simple catches more fish than a guy deserves
you are fishing high quality gear and using alotta finese
you catch plenty of fish
Your more expert than 80% of the guys out there fishing
quite apoligizing , I'd fish with you ... Good vid
I live on lake Erie, Monroe Mich. I used your set up from this video and caught my first steel head EVER! 4 lb hen! Thank you brother!
Hi I just started fly fishing and your vids really help
Nice video man. I’ve seen a lot of steelhead videos, it’s my first year trying, and this was much more relatable and simply put. Really helped , thanks !!
Thanks kid ...I havent centerpin in awhile ...u got me going again on using the pin 👍👍
I have the same pin, but I upgraded the bearing to Boca Bearing Abec 7. Super easy to do and it spins way more freely, even on super slow current...
Great video, I'm getting ready to head up north this weekend for trout opener.
very simple yet thorough, amazing video
awesome video man! going steelhead fishing early in the morning myself!
Dude you were slaying them. I like your style!
I am new to Center pin myself I have a TFO 12'9" and a Okuma Aventa reel. Would love to use it more often I am addicted.
Nice video love the setup and holy crap a sick chromer on the first drift
A quick tip, if you find yourself getting a lot of line twist add another micro swivel above your float! really helps but it does drag in the water so its a personal preference but i don't fish without it since i was shown! Keep up the awesome videos!!
Great video! Awesome hookups and your rigging tips were clear and straightforward. Headed up to Niagara River in a few weeks for steelhead - looking forward to using these methods. Thanks for sharing!
How did the trip go
I don't know if you already have a video on this but would love a how to video on how to set up gear for fishing steelhead, brown trout, and salmon, as well as the best times of the season to catch them in Michigan. Oh and also the best gear to handle each type of fish and its surrounding (small river, smaller rod, or etc) Thanks so much
Take your auto iso off, and get the right exposure with histogram, awesome video man.
Another good video fish fray!! Boom first drift!
Awesome video man. Great editing too.
Hahaha I just found this video today and it's hilarious 😂😂 so cool to see the progress of your channel! Keep it up! I just got my first pin rod and can't wait to try it on the Vedder river in Canada
And can i get the exact pin drop on google maps of that first hole
Awesome video man, and you killed em!
nice one, love a first take!
That first drift had so much anticipation lol
My dude your awesome bro!!!
Great river, I wish one day I have a chance to fish in this type of rivers with my unique style of fishing which we use to do in our place. I use to fish with a rod of 20 feet, it would be great in this type of river. Great catches though man...
Fantastic man, don’t know why you don’t have as many subs as Jon b. I am interested in that rod though, what type is it?
Cool video. I want to learn the art of catching a fish when you don’t even expect it, mid sentence. Haha-great one.
that's called the art of luck, haha
As long as you get hook ups like you do keep on being a non-expert I love it
That was a fun to watch, great video. . Nice and easy and sweet fish. Don't be so humble .. expert.
Nice job.
Great video!!
I know some guys who make centerpin rods and the one guy I’ve seen had a 18 foot centerpin for fishing dams for salmon
Whats the flashing lights from?
BIG RIVERS like how they have it in B.C. - 13 to 15', small creeks and small rivers like how we have it here in southern East Ontario - 11 to 12ft rods...... also the pin diamater helps as well 5" for big rivers, 4 to 4.5" for small rivers for faster retrieve
Wondering if you can answer this. 1 can you drift with spinning rod? 2 can you tie a fly to the end of the tippet/leader instead of eggs or bead
Bro, what video editing program do you use? I'm starting to put together videos and am having a hard time finding something that works well.
Where's this at? I'm gonna go to Grand Rapids and Grand Haven in a couple weeks to do some steelhead fishing. DNR reports say they're starting to go nuts for beads.
Woahhh buddy...Callin' your shots!
It rarely works out like that haha
Nice work fella. Some good action there. Keep em wet.
Love the intro
good video keep it up 🎣
How deep are the holes at the credit I've never fished there before
Nice video bro!
Is that is conneaut by the route 20 bridge
How much for the waders and what brand are those
Try the wingless splitshot, I find the removable ones twist my line like crazy.
Leo Martin I'll be doing that this season for sure
Bb split shots
You would need almost 30 BB size shot to balance out an 11 gram float.
So for the float so you have to set a depth?
I always watch your videos and like steelhead fishing myself. I was wondering what state and creek is this at?
Nice video ! you are good !
What beads do you use
Well presented. Like the bead tricks. Saves on a bunch of roe bags too. American or Canadian waters?
Nice dude. Come fish the pnw!
You are very good at video editing, can you do a video on how to set the depth of the float ? Thank you
I can't believe you have only 8.9 thousand subscribers but your content is great I know by the end of the year you will have at least 60 thousand subscribers
Thanks, I hope you're right !
Have u ever fished Niagara River? Do you think 11’ or 13’ would suit best?
what kinda net do you have?
Oh yeah, and also, what kind of net is that? A Frabill something or other?
Great intro. It supports the saying that if you are first to a good spot in a river and you do hookup on the first or second cast it is time to move on or improve your presentation.
The first drift like boss
Where did you get that pink bead u where using?
What size shot do you run
Nice !! Thanks👍‼️
U just got a new subscriber
What happens when you throw a woolly bugger on?
Excellent fly fishing video! Great educational piece as well keep up the great work!
Thanks !
Keep away from that re-usable shot. The “fins” create line twist in the current. Bloodrun round shot is the way to go. Also run your heavy shot directly under the float. Then taper down with smaller shot to match float size.
Nice video!
Thanks, I did switch to round shot this season
Who's Randy?
hey I need a ceiling fan installed could you help me out?
Subd for that first drift call
Nice work, very informative! Do you tip those marabou jigs with anything?
Slab City Outdoors they catch fish plain, but I like to tip with waxworms at times
Awesome Job....
How deep you Rigged 4 ?
Good video and nice fish! I want to get a center pin, just a little intimidating.
If you like to float fish, you will LOVE a centerpin, i promise
Practice casting Practice Practice it gets easier.
Sooo much fun! Your videos got me interested, so I found time to hit up a couple rivers along the lake and land a couple chromes myself for the first time. I was just using my 7’ spinner. Definitely see the value in the centerline and extra length. Perfect intro man, keep it up! When do you usually see them move back to the lake? I’d like to get back up again.
Hopefully this works I went wading in EUCLID creek today for steelhead hooked up with one and lost it
What part of Euclid creek do you fish? I've been wanting to try it but not sure where to get into it..
That is awesome
Im looking to buy a new centre pin reel and saw you have the okuma raw 2, i was wondering if you liked it and if it is a good pin
Check out Colville Precision Reels bro
What rods that?
why is your centerpin rod so short?
Is this the rocky river??
What kind of rod and reel is that? Nice man
I fish the coquet in Northumberland England. We have a decent run of seatrout but it's hitty missy as it's a backend river and if the rains don't come in time the fishing is very poor. The seatrout over here are obviously Brown trout and some spawn and return to sea and come back the next year much larger. Do the steelheads do the same? Ps great vids.
Steelhead behave a lot like that, based on what you described.
Awesome video! Are you running your leader a little longer then the actual depth on that dropper bead?
Yes I run at or slightly below the actual depth when fishing with acrylic beads because the current keeps them off the bottom
You're too modest dude. Great video.
What river?
I was getting pumped for deer season, but your videos are making me want to try fly fishing this fall instead!
The first few seconds after casting ... *crickets*... Lol!
Nice catch though!
My first thought was "There's no way this brotha filmed an intro multiple times to make this happen" haha
very nice vid
Never thought to just tie the line to the hook bend!
good job thx
What type of line do you use on the centerpin . like ur main line
Trilene XL Smooth casting, 8-12lb
Is this in usa?
What creek is it?
Do you thinks it’s possible to drift fish salmon and trout with medium heavy bass rod? I’ve seen a lady at Oak orchard catch big ones with an Ugly Stick rod, not sure the reel but what do you think
Drift or bobber float?
That's betsi river right
Were can i buy those orange and chartreuse beads. Thanks
Any tackle shop or even a craft shop will carry different size beads
nice rainbow trout.
What’s your favorite salmon fly
Vangoutdoors 2:53. Lol
I’m a huge steelhead newbie, but why do you put the beads like 2 inches above the hook? Wouldn’t the fish bite the bead and miss the hook?
Paul Fedorowicz when the fish hits the bead it slides down the line too the hook....it's give the bead more of a natural presentation with the hook being a couple of inches away
what he said. Also: the hookup ratio is actually better that way because if the bead was right next to the hook, it partially closes the hook gap.
What type of rod are u using
Simon Dejonge raven helix 12'9"
So are you fishing Erie trib in Ohio?
most likely, yes
