    How do you ground your metal poles (tubes) for lightning strikes?

      If you decide it's necessary, you could trap a grounding wire between the steel tube and the tube clamp, and send this to a copper grounding rod in the ground beside the container. Best to consult with an electrician who can check the quality of the bond.

    I'm having a difficult time getting the right size tube clamp for my usage. I have 1 5/8" or 1.65" or I can source other sizes, but in the video you mentioned 48mm being for 1.5" size pipe in the US. Isn't 48mm = 1.89"? I was originally set on buying 42mm since 42mm = 1.65" and 1 5/8" = 1.625" which should fit nicely in the 42mm clamp. Thoughts?

      Hi Todd.
      The confusion here is down to the fact that US pipe size measurements don't refer to the outside diameter.
