I loved a Far Wilder Magic when I read it! The romance subplot worked for me and the magic was loose enough to not make things too intense, so that could be a pro or a con I think, but I liked it. It also felt very cozy (?) imo
I thought I recognized the big rock in the sea - I visited North Berwick with a friend 12 years ago when we visited Edinburgh ^^ I remember we took a bus to Tantallon Castle (and had to walk the whole way back cause the bus came like once every two hours), it was such a cool day trip !

I am very behind on watching your vlogs but you mentioned in the one you posted just before Christmas that you like cozy games that focus on collecting things to advance the plot. If you haven't already, you should definitely check out Wytchwood because it sounds exactly like your kind of game! You play a forest witch that is tasked to collect the souls of (evil) animals in order to save a princess that has fallen into an enchanted slumber. All you do is walk around collecting different ingredients to make things that you trade to advance the story. All the maps are beautiful, it is a very calming game, nothing bad can happen to you, the "monsters" that can harm you are usually slow enough that you can just run away and the story itself is also very entertaining (as it doesn't take itself too seriously).
🌊🌊🌊 currently reading Assassin's Apprentice, quite a change after Lady of Darkness series 😂 given how much I enjoyed that book after hearing you talk about it, I really need to give the Twisted series a try as well it seems 😂

I’ve read it but didn’t like it sadly! I read the version that was self published though so it might have changed a lot since I read it as it’s now traditionally published. I hope you enjoy!

FYI A Far Wilder magic is ostensibly about an enchanted hunt…but the hunt doesn’t start until after page 300 and only lasts for a chapter. Most of the book is a really ill-conceived comparison between Judaism and Catholicism, and like…an obnoxious guy who bullies a teenage girl into letting him live in her house? Just a weird setup with almost no forest magic and some frustratingly clunky writing.
The chronic illness has been illnessing far too much honestly 😅
