I just got my 13 mini and I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be rid of my 12 pro max. I finally have the camera I want in the form factor I want. Killer.
I agree that the the 13 mini has the better size but how is that finally the camera you want?
@@urbanistgod It’s the iPhone 12 Pro Max camera system in the mini! Yes, it doesn’t have the improvements in the 13 Pro’s ultra wide but those are low light improvements that don’t apply to my usual photography. And the telephoto is slower, so that’s a downgrade anyway

I went with the 13 mini. I’m really enjoying it so far. I love having a compact size phone again. I feel it is the most underrated out the entire 13 lineup! Plus I don’t need the extra features the pro model offers!
I moved from the 12 Pro Max to the 13 Mini and the battery life is much better than I expected, especially with the MagSafe battery pack. That thing basically lives on my 13 mini all day and I never think about if I need to recharge my phone. It's easily the fastest phone I've ever used, amazing display, incredible cameras, and it feels like it's not there in my pocket. The perfect iPhone.
I just went from my 11 Pro to the 13 Pro today. This was the first time I’ve gotten an iPhone on launch day.

Couldn't agree more! The new Mini is actually phenomenal and the smaller screen is actually not even noticeable compared to my old 12...
Gonna snag the 13 Pro next week. I agree with all these points from the perspective of the average consumer and niche consumer. Realistically the power you have on the newer iPhone models casts a major shadow on the cameras I used as an entry level filmmaker over a decade ago. It’ll be really cool to see how newer creators, seasoned creators, and general consumers put these to use.

I love the iPhone mini. I “downgraded” from my 12 Pro. My partner has a 12 pro max and is envious of the smol phone factor. Also still rocking my 5th gen iPad mini.

I love the mini. The size makes me want to use the phone. Also over the years I've never had to say, "thank God I had the pro phone!" Usually if I'm filming anything of substance I'm going to use my actual camera. Great perspective, Patrick.
You gotta good head on your shoulders. Don’t fall into the hype. Most of our “needs” with these phones come from marketing.
@@impatrickt Yeah that's very true. 13 mini and 13 are enough for most people and most people who have pro models actually don't really utilize the extra features they have... They make sense only for very specific people. I mean also this 120hz craze is so overblown... I got my first 120hz PC screen all the way back in like 2012 or 2013 and honestly, the difference between 60hz and 120hz is far smaller than people make it out to be. I currently use 120hz screen as my main screen and 60hz as my secondary screen and the difference isn't really even noticeable when you're focused on working... Far more important is the color accuracy, pixel density and brightness of the screen.
Coming from a Note 8 to 13 Mini... no regrets.

I am on the 12 mini for almost a year now and I am not looking back to those monster phones I longed for in the past. The mini gives me anything I need to stay connected in the markets and with my customers while being portable and 'wearable'. For media content, yes, I have my Ipad pro 11 and that is it.
Great video and review I was reluctant coming from a XS max but after this I knew I had to try it. I’m glad I did no more hand gymnastics trying to reach parts of the screen and I’m no longer carrying a brick in my pockets. Subscribed. Thanks!

I have an iPhone 12 Pro and a Samsung S21 Ultra, and I handle them just fine. You clearly have small hands and a small view of the world. I don't buy phones based on what Steve Jobs intended, I buy them based on MY needs, you know since I'm the one paying and will be the one using the device daily for years to come. Apple has long ago moved away from any of Steve Jobs visions or intentions. If your theory was right then the iPhone 12 wouldn't be the best selling iPhone last year into this year and the mini was a total flop. The XR, 11 and 12 Pro Max were also top sellers, not the 12 mini or iPhone SE 2. C'mon now.

I think the iPhone 13 mini is the way to go for folks tired of super sized phones and still want great camera and power plus a good battery life

I went from the 12 pro to the 13pro max and about a month later went to the mini. I brought the battery pack and haven’t turned back. Most days I end with around 30%. It was only 1 day I actually needed the battery pack and I put it on for about 30mins and it got me through the rest of my day. I also got the iPad mini cellular for when I want more real estate. Best decision I ever made

As a 12 pro max/iPad 12.9” user I have to admit that I’m a bit jealous over that 13 mini / iPad mini combo… add an iMac 24” on top of that and you got the holy trinity of screen real-estate right there.

I'm Definitelty trading in my 12 Pro for the 13 Mini for portability and ease of use with one hand. I thought I’d be able to shed some weight and size when I switched to the 12 Pro from the XS Max…I was wrong. My 12 Pro with an Apple leather case comes out to exactly 8 ozs.
13 Pro is very heavy too.
Great! You can definitely expect similar battery backup from this 13 mini, or slightly better.
After having the iPhone 8 for four years, I upgraded to the iPhone 13 mini starlight. I like the colour and the screen but it takes some time getting used to, especially since you don't get a manual nowadays. However, I must say that my next upgrade will even take longer, probably around 6 years. The wow-factor I had when using the phone for the first time was little, which probably has to do with the fact that I copied my old iPhone files and settings to my new one. The fact is that nowadays phones are so good that you can use them for many years, which is something I will do too now. In 2,5/3 years I will replace my battery and use my phone for another 3 (or maybe 4 if Apple keeps the updates as long as they're doing with the iPhone 6S now) years. I really expected more satisfaction of this purchase.

using 13 min for last 2 days and loving it much more than 11pro. much lighter and smaller but same in most of features (except telephoto lens).
Fantastic commentary and you're a natural in front of the camera, man.
Looks like Macro, ProMotion, and LiDAR scanning are the major points in favor of the Pro. I've talked to some real estate folks and artists working with 3D printing, so I understand the requirement for accurate scanning, but the portability of the Mini is huge.
P.S. I think Nolan's best film is Memento :)

I have the iPhone 13 mini as well and the way I see it, it is the original iPhone that Steve Jobs would love due to its size. I agree with him in the fact that a phone should be something compact that you can take with you seamlessly and a one handed operation. I’ve also found myself using my phone less which means less social media and more real life interaction
I want a 13 Mini. Looks like the perfect phone for taking family pictures and videos.

Great review man !! iPhone 13 mini is the way to go . It’s not even that small . This is the gold standard for pocket size phones . You can do anything with this flagship phone and it’s not cumbersome.

As a lifelong android user I decided to buy my first ever iphone.13 Mini.Decision was based purely on the size of the phone and also how smooth and choppyless iphones are.I was always annoyed by little slowndowns of even top of the range androids.They never seemed optimized enough.I cant wait.Mini has everything I need. Great camera ,good batter life, perfect size and smoothness that I want.I should get it tomorrow.For the first time in years Im quite excited of getting new phone😊

I traded in my iPhone 12pro max for a 13 mini. With the money I saved I got an iPad mini for note taking, reading (I’m old and blind), and love it. A bigger screen when I need it, and a small pocket device when I don’t.

Save the mini! As a non-content creator/consumer on my phone, the mini is perfect for me. I LOVE the size and now with the bigger battery, it's going to be even more practical for me. I jumped at the 12 mini and now I'm on my first day with the 13 mini. The only reason I went with the 13 mini is because of the rumor mill on apple killing it due to poor sales last year, so I figured "why not?". I really hope the mini stays in the mix, it really is perfect for people that use their phone for "normal" use (text, email, calls) and like a more compact feel. Awesome phone!
The 13 mini finally got me to switch back to iPhone. It really is the perfect size. Been waiting so long for a flagship device with good battery life that actually fits in one hand comfortably. If they discontinue the mini I will be super disappointed.

I am really considering going back the mini size. Am I crazy? I can’t rationalize my bill going up and other than the battery on the pro I miss my mini.

I bought the 13 mini in Starlight and I love the form factor and size. I use my iPad for watching movies and CZcams. Perfect set up for me. I enjoyed your video. If I travel when I think I need the telephoto lens I bring my camera. Mini perfect for quick snapshots of the kids and pets. Thanks for making this video and you are very natural on camera.

i still plug in my iphone 8 to a potato clock every night. Have to carry a cooler around so that it dosent over heat. Excited for literally any upgrade getting the 13 in a week :)
