Wouldn’t even blame Canelo at this point because he’s in it to make the money. Who should get the blame is the sanctioning bodies for allowing him to hold the belts hostage and not give the guys deserving a shot at the titles. It’s disgraceful how corrupt they are.
So refreshing to hear a trainer speak truth in confidence and confidence in truth. So many trainers, good bad and everything in between act and speak like hype men. And, to a degree, that's understandable and appreciated. But this mentality is best in the long run, in and out of the ring.

Right after collecting belt #4 from Plant (2 and a half years ago), Canelo should have vacated, since he clearly had no intention of ever defending against top contenders at 168. Only way I'll watch Canelo again is if he fights Benavidez, Munguia, Mbilli, or Morrell. Zero interest in a Berlanga fight. He may as well fight Jake Paul.
