I really wish Sony would have made the PlayStation portal to act like the portable Nintendo switch and how you don’t need a wifi connection to be able to remote play.

Welcome to the channel! I’ve really come around to it, for sure the Portal won’t be for everyone, it’s no PSP / Vita! But those come with their own downsides. I’m glad my video helped you decide, enjoy your Portal! ✌🏻
Your points in the beginning are very valid and shared with me cause I have posted almost the same thing on other peoples comments on portal reviews knocking the device but your right developers are why the vita died they didn’t want to develop vita games and consoles games they only wanted to develop console games so this is why the portal exist it kills two birds with one stone develops don’t have to develop portal games only ps5 games and ps4 games and you can stream those games on or any other PlayStation console game you have on your ps5 to your portal over WiFi and you can and absolutely take those games the go if you have access to WiFi and get the closest experience to a ps5 in a handheld portable device
Totally! And with the Portal you can play pretty much every single PS5 game from day 1, there’s no waiting for developers to make specific games for a new platform. And no need for them to put any resources into changing or optimising their games. If you have a decent connection it just works! ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB only we don’t want watered down experience on handhelds we want full console experience on handhelds and the handhelds may not have the power to do so that was the issue with vita it came close to ps3 graphics and sometimes tried to reach ps4 but sadly it was no ps3 / 4 if anything it was a ps 2.5 And to me call of duty black ops declassified is absolutely what kid the vita . Had that been what it was promised to be the vita would still be alive and supported and possibly even a third true psp like device would be out by now . But the game flopped horribly . They should have just ported black ops 1 to vita since they couldn’t get black ops2 to run on vita which is why black ops declassified came to be . Also what they were working on black ops 2 for vita it became cod mobile because if you look at beta footage for cod mobile when it was called call of duty legends of war it looks similar in graphics and overall look to black ops 2 .

I don’t have a portal but I have a PS5 and stick drift is crazy with the PS5 controller atleast in my experience.. maybe I’m going too hard on them 😅 but I’ve run through quite a few.. if this portal suffers from that, is it fixable ?
When I play mw3 on the portal and use any rocket launcher type weapon. I get resistance on the firing trigger or should I say r2 it’s quite nice

So my wife was able to get me one for christmas. I’m hoping that the remote play will be good! it works really well on my phone so it should work good on the portal hopefully 🤞

Disable your HDCP setting on your PS5 HDMI to prevent lag/stutters, or remove the HDMI from your console or TV. The Portal will run lag free, dependent on your WiFi strength
Have done this and can confirm removal of hdmi lead from rear of ps5 it plays in rest mode aswell but has to be on for disk thanks for review fair and right I play on it more than 4k hdr old TV
I still use my pulse 3D headset when playing on The Portal so buying a pulse explorer is pointless. 🤷
Credible, balanced overview, Jack. Orange seems to be a “thing” with your channel - watch band, fonts. Sensory feedback a plus. Would public Wi_Fi spots be fast enough, assuming you could connect this system?

Depends on the speed of the public WiFi, Sony says you need 5Mbps minimum, recommends 15Mbps for a better experience.

It was made to experience ps5 games when you can't play on your TV or play away from home. It just works and the fact it's a dual sense and has haptic feedback and trigger effects and a awesome scream makes it all epic.
You mean like you could do for years via PS Remote on a phone/tablet/latptop lol

@@DKN808 I'm using my air pods with it, not sure what your on about. It is portable I play it on my car everyday waiting to pick up the kids form school. I can connect to any WiFi i want. Nothing is stopping me. Your too busy listening to the haters who have been using mostly false stories and your sir are falling for them. Apart from Bluetooth which I've got a work around for, there are no issues what so ever. I'm a happy gamer now as i finally can play them gorgeous PS5 exclusives rather than they collect dust.
A direct connection to the PS5 would have been significant considering it was designed to be played in vicinity of your system, so it's essentially unremarkable on performance versus Sony's remote play. Something worth mentioning is while the Portal doesn't support Bluetooth, the PS5 DOES support Bluetooth (I use a Logitech MX Keys and Mouse on mine for online games).
Yeah I’m surprised they didn’t go for more of a direct connection.. And true, but PS5 can’t pair with any Bluetooth headsets that I know of because of the potential latency

Perhaps the dumbest and most useless item Sony has ever produced. Spend $200 + another $200 to use Sonys proprietary headphones because they couldn’t include Bluetooth. No web browser, no apps, no OLED, no streaming Netflix/Hulu, no gfx processing. Basically a brick without a PS5 that’s not even portable where you can fit it in your pocket. Fail.
