      Hey, I know you commented this 3 years ago but what was the problem on your Altima? My 99 is getting no power when I turn the key. It happened at work, I turned the key, lights came on for a sec and boom car died.

      @@ThunderbirdRocket i took it to a mechanic and turns out my ground cable went out. They replaced it and i was all good 👍🏽

      Hey Ernesto ! Thanks for sharing this information with me and giving of your time . That’s great that it was just the ground strap . Yesterday the problem with my son-in-laws car (no crank / no electrical power whatsoever) was found to be the negative cable from the wiring harness to the battery post clamp had slid out of position . It’s a 21 year old Ford Ranger . Lots of rusts and poorly designed clamp fasteners . So it is very similar to what you had occur . Anyways thanks for letting me know . I love learning about what causes no crank issues for various case studies .

    NSS should have only one input wire from IG SW and only one output wire to starter relay , what are the other wires in the plug of the NSS?

    Im stuck. 2011 mazdaspeed3, new battery shows 12v, starter good, and relay good. Replaced ignition switch just in case.. but still no crank, no start.. although if i press the front of the relay (kind of like the emergency bypass option mentioned at the end) car starts up.. car is a manual so i guess next is safety switch.. but if not? 😅😅

    My key would get stuck in the ACC position after turn the engine off. I can't turn it to off position. What could it be. I drive a 2004 toyota tacoma automatic?

    I used a test light on the ports to the starter relay and I am not getting light on port #85 wich is ground. and #86 when I put the key to the start position. any idea what to check??

    I face a problem that in my Prado A/T key has been pull out in every gear, This is not working properly. I electrician cannot understand problem he has removed ignition lock wire from alarm and other wires grip. In automatic car ignition has been fully switch off in P position and we are able to pull out key. Please make any video for this

    So if there is a wire coming from the switch that goes to the ECU, is it possible to have a crank no start because the ignition switch is defective?

    I'm confused since I couldn't see the entire step between putting the test-wire behind the trigger-wire on the ignition switch, and the next step of applying the paperclip and alligator clip to the NSS connector. Is the test-wire long enough that the other end of the alligator clip is clipped to it, and if so, how do you use the multimeter on Ohms setting to test for resistance?

    My Maxima has intermittent starting issues. I'm definitely going to check the voltage of the wires at my ignition switch and alarm relay and neutral safety switch because the car starts up just fine sometimes, which tells me the battery and starter are just fine, but the starter is somehow not getting voltage when it's supposed to.

      could be the starter solenoid starting to fail or starter relay starting to fail or neutral position safety switch starting to fail or any wires in the system involving all these parts being very corroded and starting to fail.

    I have a 95 Toyota Tacoma 2 Wheel Dr. manual transmission. About six months ago I started having the radio turning off intermittently when I used the turn indicator or stepped on the brake. It would come back on by itself. The car would run just fine. This anomaly became more consistent with time. Then I noticed that when I turned the engine off, to the accessory position on the ignition switch, sometimes the accessories would stay on and other times it would shut off like I turned the key all the way to the off position. The other day it started up fine, I went got gas and when I went to start it I got nothing, no dash lights no clicking nothing. The seatbelt light was the only light that lit up. Then that went off also when I turned it to start position. And then the seatbelt light went off and stayed off. I raked the key in and out of the ignition and pressed repeatedly on the clutch. It did start after a minute or two I drove it home and parked it. Then I tested it to see if it would start and it did just fine several times. Wondering if you think this might be the ignition. Also I noticed A couple weeks ago that the air conditioning unit when was in use and running and working normally that it would shut off for like 30 seconds, and then come back on of its own accord. I have not been able to get any kind of a firm price for repair, or even an idea of what could be the problem. One mechanic that I trust said he thought it could be the ignition, but he doesn't work on electrical anymore. Just looking for some input from you. Your video was extremely informative and very well executed. Really the only thing I saw on line that was useful. So anything you can give me back would be greatly appreciated. Please excuse my long sentences and bad punctuation. Thanks

    great vids. I have a 97 pathfinder it cranks but don't start, it has good fuel psi it has spark it has compression. psii checked the fuses and the starter fuse is showing 0 volts but the fuse is good. can the starter still crank but be bad? any suggestions on what look for would help.

    I need a big help from you my uplander 2005 . i started my van everything was good i shifted the gear from p to r . i think i down it to quickly the engine stop. I put it back on park. I star it again all lights are on but no start nothing no noise

    Had wreck with 06 Nissan sentra . Didn't start just CRANKS since then . I've heard it could be some kind of safety / cut off switch when a crash happens ? Need to find and reset . ANY HELP will be appreciated . Thanks

    My car is cutting out ti has a p0135 p0134 p0135 p01356 for coil packs they have being replaced and the cods are still cuming up. any ideas on what to do next ?

    Can anyone help my issue with no voltage showing up on starter relay 87 or 30 pin when there is no key inside the ignition. But it shows voltage on 85/86 plus 87/30 when the key is on. Also when the key is on , and when i jump the 87/30 starter only clicks but does not start the engine. 2002 Mercedes c320 3.2L car. Also could not find the exact wiring diagrams, got some pdf's but not sure if its correct. thx in advance

    Intermittent no crank or start - sometimes dies completely while driving though headlights and accessories and lights work . When car dies on freeway it will start again within minutes or an hour. 99 Dodge Caravan ( I can bypass ignition relay and car cranks, starter and battery and new ignition switch, lock cylinder all new and working). New PCM too! Help please ! bjm

    i have a 04 Hyundai tiburon that wont crank or start. When you turn the key it loses all power to car and all you hear starter do is click, starter is good, battery is good. both were tested. im lost , please help

    Hello I've swapped out my ignition switch and the car starts but when I shut it off the oil pressure and brake indicator is still on as well as the electronic panel showing the mpg time and compass. If I don't disconnect my battery it will drain. The car is a 2000 Toyota Avalon. Any suggestions? Has anyone encountered this before?

    Thanks for the video! It's helped in narrowing the issues for my 4runner.
    I was wondering what should the voltage on the ignition signal line be when the switch is in the on position. My car won't start from the key ignition. I can short 12v to the starter and the engine starts. When I measure voltage on the relay trigger line when the ignition switch is set to on, it reads 10v. And when I turn the key to start the voltage goes to 11v. But no start. I had thought the trigger should still be at 0v when switch is set to on.

    my challenger is just making a single click when i turn on the key .so do u think that the neutral saftey switch is working .Do you think i will be better off to start my trouble shooting check off at the battery termenals and down to the starter

    Thank you for the informative videos. Can anyone please help. My battery voltage is 12.67v and when i start the engine the voltage does not seem to change. When I checked the voltage from the leads without being connected to the battery it was over 18v. Is this a bad Rectifier/ Regulaor on the alternator. Could a fuse be blown. So battery does not seem to charge. I cannot start the engine using the ignition key. I have a 25hp mariner efi cdi elpt. The tilt switch is also totally non responsive. I have come accross people with a similar problem who changed a fuse and problem solved. But where do I find the fuse. I can start the engine no problem with the pull cord on the flywheel and engine runs without a hitch.

    I have a 97 grand marquis and it wont start from the key just remote start.i put in a new ignition switch and same thinng.i bypasses the remote start and no start.the wire that suppose to be 12volts when cranking has no power?

      the wire from the starter relay to the starter motor solenoid may be corroded and need replacement.

    I changed out my rear oil seal, oil pan, freeze plugs and rebuilt my transfer case, a nightmare to say the least. I put the car back together and no start, I remembered a bunch of gunk on the NSS connector I took a needle and scraped them clean. I connected it back and car fired right up but gears were all in the wrong position but started everytime. I decided to change the 2 connectors and the NSS switch I'm a 2003 suburban so I used OEM ac delco parts, now I got no start just lights go off when I try to crank it. I need help 3 weeks and going on my family wagon, bought so many parts 20 trips to th r store and a rental car because school had just started. HELP?

      You have to perform an adjustment when you put the NSS back on. There's a piece on the NSS you have to turn to match your vehicle. You probably need to be in neutral when you put the NSS back on... I think.

    My 2005 Nissan Sentra 1.8 A/T will start in any gear even after I replaced (and adjusted) the neutral safety switch/inhibitor switch and relay.
    Most times it starts fine but it also is not wanting to engage the starter (no crank/no start)
    Starter spins perfect when it does engage.
    Starter works perfect or not at all.
    No starter engagement is my issue.
    After a long time wiggling the gear selector it will start.
    I need my car to start every time.
    Please help.
