  • In this video, I discuss how I've lost weight eating a high carb diet consisting of mostly potatoes plant-based foods over the last 7 months. Potatoes are great for losing weight because they are so bulky and really fill you up. Don't be a tater hater.

Did you eat potatoes using the resistant starch way cooking/cooling? Just learning about this might help me.
I’m coming off 5yrs keto so relearning everything.

@@CalmVibesVee hello mainly eating them fresh as I do not like them second hand. Good luck 🤞

I think you've done a great job, since your surgery. Whatever works, to help lose weight and keep you feeling well...I think the daily walks to the market help, too. I don't understand people who say potatoes are fattening..it's what people put on them that adds calories. I like to keep plain boiled, or baked, potatoes in the fridge for quick meals and snacks....any way Thumbs Up!!

That’s awesome! So glad to hear you are eating healthy! This sounds great! My sister noticed a huge difference in her health and weight after switching to a vegan diet. She also watches John McDoogle.

I did a keto diet for 3 months and lost weight, but had my face full of acne, constipation and hairloss and my period was missing. then I went to live in rural MN where the markets sell many natural produce and I started eating fruits, organic pastas, mushroom's, potatoes, few slices of meat 2 times per week and water and I lost weight and felt very good, then after that I catched a pheumonia and I went full chicken and veggie broth and fruits for 2 months and I lost more weight and felt very calm.
The reason I cut everything when I got pheumonia is because some food can create mucus when we are sick with pheumoniaz and so my pheumonia wasn't getting any better so I did fruits and broth only and I lost weight but gained back. Now I'm in the process of starting doing high carb fruit and Veggies and low fat and sometimes eating fish only.

I lost the most amount of weight when I was a raw vegan. I've gained the most amount of weight eating high fat and high protein. I'm wondering if you know your blood type and if that makes a difference? I'm A pos. When I looked up the blood type diet, it showed vegetarian was best for me.

    • @TosTinManEasyCooking

I'm not sure what my blood type is, but I started eating more protein and fat and gained a lot of weight back.

Thanks, Jim. Every weird diet can work temporarily. Your eating regimen is varied, healthy and quite low calorie. I wouldn't want to give up carbs, either. Love veggies too much. Losing weight is probably great for your back, too, isn't it? (:

Thanks Stef! I'm not sure how much losing weight actually helps my back but it definitely can't hurt. It's still healing so I'm trying to improve the odds the best that I can!

I've cut out a lot of the same. Cream and high-fat stuff like cheese. If I do eat cheese or high-fat stuff I try to get real strongly flavored things. Bacon is one of my favorite diet foods, just because you don't need to use a lot to get a lot of taste in your dish.
I agree with you that its best to eat natural and not to avoid all the carbs and such. I know exactly why I was overweight, and it was nothing to do with eating too many carbs and more to do with if I wanted a sandwich at 2 am, I'd go and make one. That, and to be perfectly honest I do like to eat until I am uncomfortably full.
Its a really great attitude. Just eat natural foods, plenty of veggies and fruit and so long as you don't stuff your self you'll most likely reach a more healthy weight and probably be more healthy. Its what I am trying to do now too (lost about 37 lb in the last year, and a machine at the drug store says I am made up of about 52lb of fat, so plenty more to lose.)
Congrats on the weight loss. Its some difference since I last saw you :)

Do you salt and pepper them? Do you only eat them as wedges, and what about mashing them. Or any thing that brings out the flavor. I happen to love potatoes and Im wanting to start to lose weight myself, so your answers would be helpful. Thanks and a great chanel

    • @TosTinManEasyCooking

Thanks! I usually just coat them with a little bit of oil, about half a tablespoon or so, and then season them with some salt and seasoned pepper.
