- When starting out as a wedding photographer it's hard to know what to bring as a wedding photographer. Since I've been running a wedding photography business for 10 years let's talk about the photography gear I bring with me as a wedding photographer.

Everything. Bring everything. Just in case 😭😂
😂😂 My fear is always having my gear stolen so I'm lean to keep myself nimble and also not lose all of my gear in one go.
@@jbivphotography In this case I really recommend a Think Tank Production Manager 50 , where I store all my gear. No way that someone is able to run with this big bag 😎😄
Me ❤
When I did photography as a hobby. I always brought a second camera or smart phone for a photo shoot.
Totally agree on redundancy (camera and cards).
It's a MUST if you want to do something as important as weddings.
I still remember the first video, you said you have to have two cameras. i then just starting out in the business was like wait. I have to make more money to buy a camera body before I can have two. Do I worry if something happens to my camera? Hell yes I'm ready for that fear to get off my mind..... Ps I've made enough money to buy two more lenses, but not the second camera body as of yet..im one year into it
You absolutely need two camera just in case one of them goes down. Even if I’m using one body I’ll keep a second body with a 24-70 f2.8 or a 50mm just as a quick back up.
If your lens, battery, SD card fails during a ceremony you can just switch to your secondary camera without trying to troubleshoot.
Completely agree with comments on flash. Sometimes you need it and sometimes you don’t. Indoor shots can look flat and uninteresting without flash. Lightroom Denoise isn’t helping with that.
Exactly. Multiple bodies is very important. I'm surprised when I see a photographer shooting with a single camera and that's all. Especially if they don't have a second photographer with them.
SOOO excited for this!! :)
👏👏👏
Thank you for another great video.
Your'e welcome. Thanks for watching.
I always bring three camera (more if you count film). This is just redundancy, I have seen and had camera's just crap the bed and I can't risk that on a wedding day. So there is just an oldish Sony A7iii that just stays in my bag because why not.
😂😂😂😂😂😂I screamed when you said iso at 15billion lol lol. Maaannn I love your videos. Thank you
😂😂😂
Fantastic, educational video, John. Your sound, background music is perfect. And, your white balance is even MORE perfect!
Thanks a bunch. This is great feedback and super helpful. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Hey John, it's a great overview, thanks. I'd be really interested in a thorough Moneymaker review. I currently use a dual camera strap from a local brand, it's very nice and comfy but it definitely doesn't have as many additional features and it also seems to me that the straps are a tiny bit wider as well. So it would be really nice to see you telling me everything about it 🙂
That's awesome to hear. I'll make sure to go ahead and make a video about it. Thanks for watching.
Yes would like a review of the holdfast system. I have a similar dual camera harness however I'm not sure if its worth to buy the extra holder for like a similar bag. Currently I just use an extra belt that can attach pouches etc.
Is X-T30ii good for weddings?
I just want a camera that is good for events and good for travel.
I’d love to see you use the new holdfast pouch. I’ve been very curious about it and would love to hear your thoughts
That sounds great. I’ll look into grabbing one.
I use Sony Tough-Ms (277/150) in the XT5 and even they struggle to keep up.
That
It was the worst. Luckily she had other cards and I was able to switch out.
did you also start with the zoom route? :-)
I didn't. I went all in on Primes. That's why I use them so much. it's basically how I've always shot. I would be totally out of place if I used Zoom lenses.
Agree, photographers must have two bodies! At least. No matter what kind of photographer. I have two bodies on my person, and two more handy, as I had two Sony bodies die at the same time!
OH NO! I've luckily never had my bodies die but I could imagine the feeling of 2 bodies dying at the same time. That's the worst.
@@jbivphotography Actually, had three, woke up another brand mirrorless...it's shutter died on the spot. I won't live long enough to have this happen again. Keep up the great work.
You forgot the most important thing………. Snacks 🤣
I never have time for snacks on a wedding day. So I just deal with it until vendors get to eat. (I usually eat a HUGE breakfast however)
I loved weddign photgraphy until I realized what a bad deal it was from the groom. He enters a contract where the woman can cancel whenever she want and get half of everything he owns. I cannot morally justify to be part of the documentation of the celebration of a human getting trapped into such a bad deal.
