In Spider-Man web of shadows theres this boss fight with Wolverine that references this book. Wolverine doesn’t think Peter is in control of his body and wants to know its him in there, so he asks him questions only Peter would know (Marvel trivia) and one of the questions is “Who declined joining the New Avengers” and the correct answer is Daredevil. Though Spider-Man calls him “That red guy with the horns”
Fun Fact: The reason why Sauron is a random mix of ideas (he's a human pteradactyl with hypnotic and life force draining powers) is because it was thought that he was originally to be a vampire, but the Comics Code Authority did not allow anything related to vampires back then.

Hi, love the show, just wanted to add some nerdy wisdom. In the comics, although Cap is technically in "peak" human condition, he is shown to be much stronger and faster than even the most dedicated human athletes. Although he is not as powerful as Ultimate Cap, he is still enhanced enough to be considered a superhuman possessing super powers. Also he's classified as a mutate, just like Spiderman, jessica drew, luke cage, and other non-mutant or inhuman super people.
If you remove the retcon part of things, the sentry has easily the best origin story ever: "middle-aged, overweight, alcoholic Robert Reynolds wakes up and realizes that he's the sentry, a hero with the power of ONE MILLION EXPLODING SUNS"
With that being said, was there ever a consensus about how the sentry got his powers, and why the void exists? The comics gave live 45 different explanations (the general's mind virus, RR is actually evil, he's galactus, he's the actual angel of death, he's so powerful that all of this could be true depending on his mood).
I'm half expecting the sentry to come back in secret wars and reveal that he was the first beyonder, and he had a cosmic flu or something while trying to understand humans, but now that he had some r and r in the sun, he undoes all of secret invasion and yells at the beyonders for being so irresponsible before disappearing into the beyond.
Really old video I like coming back to: I love Iron-Man’s defense for recruiting Wolverine like “and we used to have the Hulk on the team, and we could use somebody like that”. I was like, “pretty good logic”. Lol
The book that got me back into comics after 8 years. This book and Hush were my books that got me back!!
Yeah, I fell in love with the Avengers once Spider-Man joined after the events of Avengers: Disassembled. 💗 The New Avengers are some of my favourite comic books because they include so many big arcs, but with a pretty ground level team. Plus Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and their baby are so cool.

You should cover Ultimate Spider-Man and the start of the rest of the main Ultimate Universe titles as well as Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk.

Wolverine keeps his powers because his healing factor negates the Savage Land power drain
I thought it wasn’t the savage land itself, it was one of the mutates who had the ability to block super powers. So they didn’t actually lose their powers until they got captured by the mutates & imprisoned in their citadel
You should've done Great Lakes Avengers. They are clearly the most powerful Avengers team. I mean, they have Squirrel Girl in the team. How much more op can you get?

We put Daredevil in Civil War, hype it up, he goes to reveal himself only for it to be Echo behind the mask. Everyone is confused, including the audience, and it's just a cluster fuck. Is this what you want Bendis?! IS IT?!

Actually I think I heard somewhere the reason ronin wasn't daredevil was because the recent daredevil run was supposed to have him in prison which wouldn't let daredevil be ronin hence the change.

Honestly, I preferred Hawkeye as the ronin persona over his original. It was fresh and different over just being a guy with arrows that when he ran out, he was just screwed.
Yeah I kinda agree. I do love Hawkeye, a lot, but I think Ronin is fun. In my opinion; He should’ve stayed Ronin, and Kate should’ve been the only Hawkeye once she took over the mantle. But at the same time, that Fraction/Aja Hawkeye run was too good, and I wouldn’t wanna lose that either.
4:58 I have been in simular situations where I would make a joke about something stupid before it actually happens. Resident Evil Revelations 2 I accidentally predicted who the traitor was going to be in the opening cinematic.
By Cap's reasoning in this book, Foggy and the prison guards that didnt die should have been in the Avengers. Talking Sentry into helping is obviously more important than whatever SpiderWoman contributed to the situation. Also if nothing else seeing Foggy waiting in the Quinjet while the avengers did stuff could have been fun.

Watching this in 2017, It's really sad how much we all though Civil war would bring marvel movies and TV closer, but it ended up just highlighting the problems between the two

Joyless. I hate to say it but that sums up my feelings towards Hickman's Avengers stuff. It's objectively good and very pretty, but nothing really clicks with me. For a book about heroes and stuff it doesn't make me want to be apart of that world or team.
Did you guys see when they put the cast for Civil War came out? I don't think Charlie Cox was on it, but man I reallyyyyyy hope he is lol like Anthony Mackie with AoU. Plus, he says he wants to be in it (same as Mackie).
I can see there being any unmasking in the civil war movie as no one really has a secret identity in the mcu, also the government (shield) already knows who everyone with powers is don't they?

Hey Sal. Crazy Thought: Sony only owns movie rights on Spidey and not the TV rights, which were never on the table (because back then, no one cared). So bear with me. In DareDevil, have a CG Spidey. Never take off the mask and commit to an actor, and since he's animated, we know that we're in the clear for Disney/Marvel to produce, like the current cartoon. But this is turning meta intellectual property sh*t. Like isn't the HULK always an animated character? Whatevs, gonna ponder if the gun to Ben's head is foreshadowing of a Comic POP Civil War.
The CG Spider-Man would likely turn out to be too expensive for Daredevil's budget

I don't remember the New Avengers losing their powers in the Savage Lands. I thought that was just in the X-Men cartoon.

I only bought the last issue of Marvel Team-Up (#150) for only two reasons: The cover art by Barry Windsor-Smith, and because the X-Men were in it. The actual comic itself was crap. I was 15, so my Quality Control hadn't kicked in yet. After reading it, I felt so...so dirty! :(

Hey, I think Spider-Man has such a crazy bunch of villains and I love it for that. I would not call it sh*tty. 😂 He has some of the coolest villains, like Mysterio or Venom or Carnage or the Kraven family or even Doctor Octopus...and some weird ones like the Elementals (Including Hydro-Man) who can be neat on their own.
