A colour analysis session makes you discover your colours for life.
A palette is a collection of colours that emphasise your natural chromatic characteristics, making you look radiant and healthy. Colour analysis identifies your personal palette by examining your natural characteristics (undertone, intensity and value).
A colour analysis session will make you discover something new about yourself and give you the knowledge to shop less and better and to improve your wardrobe and style.

I am in the same place as Harriet right now and so appreciate this video! After completing my online color analysis from these lovely ladies I've been full steam ahead paring down my wardrobe and eliminating pieces that don't suit me. I've even built a small fully in palette capsule to really get to know my subgroup. I am so thrilled I went ahead with my analysis! Giulia and Alessandra were such a joy to work with. They gave me confidence all along the way and they showed great integrity and true expertise. Plus they were just so kind in their correspondence to me, answering my questions with grace. As a new mom feeling in a real rut and just blah, they have relit a fire in my self care routine and helped me feel like the very best version of myself. If you are wondering if you should go ahead with your online session, you really should! Now all this winter cool gal needs to do is change her profile pic to something without orange. LOL. So much love to you ladies!

This is really awesome to hear!
I am hoping to get a color anlysis done soon, when I am able to have the money for it.
I have struggled a lot with self image the last few years, I had three children in just over three years and the last one was a very difficult birth and led to a bunch of issues for me and I haven’t been able to exercise for a very long time. I’m very thankful that now I am able to start do a little bit again and hopefully over the next year I’ll become more my usual shape and size but I honestly just feel so blah and frumpy and self conscious right now. I’m really hoping having my colors really nailed down would help me to feel more comfortable and confident while I do the hard work of getting myself back to “normal”.

I just discovered a hidden benefit of wearing your palette colors-a benefit I didn’t know about. At the beginning of the video, Harriett was wearing both clothes and makeup that were in her palette, and they looked beautiful. When you put an olive green drape on her, her lipstick suddenly looked as if it didn’t match her coloring. I often have trouble finding a flattering lipstick. I wonder if it’s not the lipstick that’s my problem.

@@teacheschem I think it is an old "trick" that the lipstick will pick up the colour of the garments (if it is in the range from orange, pink, red and all related pastells). With bright reds it can pull the outfit together if the red of the dress is repeated on the lip.

The eyeshadow struggle is so real. When I first started wearing make up I already knew that warm colours aren't for me. Took me years to find a good quality light ashy brown. Nowadays it's become a lot easier to find cool-toned eyeshadow than ten years ago but warm-toned eyeshadow is still more common.

Most so called warm shades are desaturated corals and greyed down taupes that actually suit Summers not Springs for example.

I agree 100%! think those warm, orangey-brown eyeshadows are quite unflattering on most women. Redness or yellowness around the eyes is naturally associated with poor health. I always want to tell them: wear a neutral or cool-toned one instead! The same for those ugly, orangey bronzers, no one healthy has orange skin! 🙂

Jewelry: Keep in mind that there are many variations on gold. I am a true summer and my wedding ring is a high quality 14k gold that is a champagne gold color, and it goes perfectly with my palette because it is not a warm gold. In the same way that summers can wear light butter yellow.
Rose gold can also vary, but it's often best on soft autumns and light springs: still fundamentally warm, but on the edge of their season, so muted with pink added. Like strawberry blond hair.
Intensity matters in jewelry too. Winters look best in a bright polished silver that is not the least bit tarnished or faded. By contrast, autumns look best in a very yellowy warm gold, that can be tarnished, burnished, dark, or copper leaning.

Another shopping tip! When I make a shopping tour I always wear a blouse or jacket in which color I'm sure that it's in my palette. In the shop I only compare my sleeve with the item - if I can wear the new item with my blouse and they are in harmony so that item is in my palette.
The main benefit for me of knowing your color season is that you can maintain a capsule wardrobe with almost endless opportunities to make matching outfits. I immediately saw the impact the right colors had on my face with no makeup on. As a winter, it seems lips and eyebrows are super important in order to bring the face into focus. Is this true? I still refer to the information my palette swatches my representative gave me after the analysis. I use the palette to confirm or disprove that a color harmonizes with my winter family. I was instructed to wear a dark, a light, and a bright in a head to toe way. Silver, gold, and platinum are the harmonizing metals. Please keep making these videos bc you ladies have great insight into how colour works with personality 😊

A colour analysis can require some adjustment and can be a shock - I thought I was some kind of Autumn- I couldn’t have been more wrong! The girls typed me as Bright Winter! So different from Autumn. Things I’ve found since:
    1. It can be hard to find bright saturated colours- sometimes there’s only 1 lipstick in a brand range that suits.
    2. Bright winter colours can be hard to find as there is a big trend at the moment for nude and terracotta muted colours.
    3. Many foundations that say they are cool or neutral are actually warm (looking at you Charlotte Tilbury)
    4. Thankfully black and white are in palette!
Understanding the need for brightness and saturation really helped me as previously I couldn’t understand why certain colours didn’t work.
Another benefit is that you realize that because not everything is in palettte/season - it frees you to be more selective and shop less!
Thank you girls it was a great experience!

For twenty years, yellowish, camel tones dominated the “beiges” and warm orangey cognac dominated the browns that were available, and they never looked good with my cool-undertoned coloring. When cooler taupe and browns became available again this year, I stocked up on quality basics in these colors. Taupe, especially, looks beautiful with light, cooler-toned skin. I love wearing it, especially with white - my favorite neutral. It’s already vanishing from shops, because brands make money by pushing “new” colors. I do love cognac brown for accessories with neutrals like white, navy, etc. Accessories like belts and bags don’t occupy much visual space and aren’t worn near the face, so they make a nice contrast.

Our Mom gifted a Color Me Beautiful analysis to me and my sister forty years ago, and I’ve always found it very helpful. We three ladies had it (each a separate analysis) together, with a group of friends present, it was so fun. We made it an occasion, outdoors in the shade, for the best natural light, with a special lunch. I was typed as Summer, this was before they added their subtypes. I, with decades of experience working with my color palette behind me, subtyped myself as a Soft Summer, the other subtypes didn’t work quite as well. Also, being close to neutral, I look fine in some Soft Autumn colors, the ones without yellowish bases like the golds and oranges, they clash with my undertone. I was about 21 or 22 at the time of the analysis, so it helped me shop better all these years. I ended up dropping two of the recommended hues: gray, which always felt drab to me, and purple, which I found difficult to style. It’s so hard to find the clothes I want in “Not Black”. I don know how it is in Australia, but here in the US the majority of clothes come only in black and one trendy bright hue, if any color at all, but I don’t wear clear, bright colors, they must be muted. It’s hard to have a completely non-black wardrobe, but if I do wear it, I almost always wear a white or light top, or scarf or collar/cuffs, at least, some pearl jewelry and some cheek and lip color, I don’t usually wear makeup, only sunscreen. I bought several black-on-white patterned silk shirts to wear with my black bottoms. I just bought a skirt I love, but it’s black, the only color offered, with these shirts, I can get some wear out of it.

There are tailors that work in India, one sends them the measurements, choses the fabrics and they create the garments. Now I see the problems (identifying colours online, screen representation of colours, never mind the fit). Especially for formal garments (lined jackets / blazers, pant suits and costumes). Or coats.
Online shoppping. Maybe vintage shopping could help ? There must be fabulous 70s costumes around.
As a summer - how about charcoal ? - for me (mostly cool summer) it is a very good substitute for black. And I have been hunting for a pant suit in navy (not dark blue a "bright" navy blue) for a long time.
Taupe is also good (brown with a touch of pink and grey).
Are there any aubergine colors / dark reds in the soft autumn palette ? A friend found a very nice dark red / aubergine pant suit at H & M. Looked very good with an expensive blouse (the pant suit was not expensive at all). H & M may have a different more colourful collection than normal shops. Or would it be possible to get stuff from Canada or Mexico ? for cultural reasons the large chains may have more colourful garments there.
I once found a pant suits in a fine black fabric (with a light shine) with a white pinestripe pattern. Interestingly that looked good, normally black is too harsh for me. the light fabric the pattern breaking it up, a flattering cut ... it worked well.
Even pattern can make a differenc and make a garment wearable that seems out of palette.

As a girl with similar coloring to hair yet, I can say that Huda Beauty Rose Quartz, Natasha Denona Glam and I Need a Nude palettes are really good. These aren’t cheap and they each go for $69 apiece but I shouldn’t last quite a while. Even though each pallet is exclusively cool, they have some great options. I hope thos helps.

After being typed a True Autumn by Giulia and Alessandra, this video couldn't have been better timed. Ever since being typed, I have been purging out-of-palette clothes I didn't love and purchasing new staple items. He-he, any excuse to shop for me! I live in the United States and was concerned about online analysis, but after seeing my results it totally makes sense. I received a very nice explanation as to my features and the portfolio has been so helpful! If you're on the fence about an online analysis, do it, you will be very happy working with them. Thank you ladies for this perfectly timed video from another True. I needed these videos. (I also watched Harriet's video. 😁)🙏

It's so true! I don't know what type I'm but instinctively I see I look better in dark blue than in black. So I choose dark blue instead of black, even trousers. The same with white and cream, never wear clear white, even if I like the colour, it makes me look very pale. ... Each of you is very different and each look very harmoniously, great 🥰

i am a cool summer and i LOVE Huda Beauty's rose quartz palette. Not all shades are cool but many stay in the mauvey, pink, lilac shades and work beautifully on me. For blush I'd say Mac has some good ones like totally synced but i also wanna reccommend korean blushes too.

About foundations, they use different labelling systems and some foundation lines can skew warm or cool. For example a lot of maybelline foundations apparently lean warm/yellow. And also your specific undertone matters too. My undertone is warm but if I wear a warm foundation with a warm peach undertone (which is most common for light warm shades) it looks cakey and kind of like bad fake tan on me. But if it has a yellow undertone it blends in so well that I can get away with wearing a shade too dark even though I’m very pale! My friend has a similar trouble because even though she has a cool undertone it’s more blue/grey than pink so a lot of cool foundations don’t match her. She has a neutral foundation at the moment because it’s not so pink

I am also at the same stage. I was recently draped as a warm spring, but most of my clothes are autumn (which i thought I was).I am finding neutrals for coats the hardest thing, as my wardrobe is full of olive green coats. Camel is normally good for springs, but the consultant said it does not look so good on me, it is too close to my skintone, I am trying to find the right greens and reds for coats. I can wear a dark charcoal, but it is hard to find, as most coats seem to be black, rather than charcoal. I live in the Scottish Highlands, so depend upon a puffer coat with a hood to protect against the weather conditions. I hope to find a coat in the January sales soon!

Soft summer here (analyzed by you!). Finding clothes for dressier occasions is really hard! So many muted or heathered colours are found in t shirts or athletic wear. Who has found a great clothing company with my palette? Most of the navys are too dark, beige is too warm….it’s crazy!

    • @kikiTHEalien
      @kikiTHEalien Před 7 měsíci +2

White shirt or blouse is a classic, you have nothing to worry about. Also, beige is considered a casual colour, greys are a classic choice for formal wear, especially in business environment. An all grey outfit is stunning (incl. all silver jewelry).

I'm so happy that i've chosen to do my online colour analysis with you!. I have already brought many items in my palette that i have never explored and was extremely easy to choose, my colours were poping before my eyes, i don't know how to explain😅😅😅! I am also very excited because pantone colour of the 2024 is peach fuzz so this mean we are diving in more warm colours for makeup as well , not necessarily only eyeshadow palettes ( i can't wear pink blushes ) 😊. Being a True Autumn i find that we have a variety of warm tones eyeshadow palettes, but blushes and lipsticks with warm hue are hard to find and for cool toned people is vice versa ! 🧡💚❤️🤎

Looking forward to getting an online analysis. Last time I had it done was in the 80’s & so much has changed. One thing I’d like to note is you don’t have to throw out colors that aren’t in your palette. You can add a scarf, blazer or coat that does work. I bought the most beautiful scarves in Italy at a street vendor. $10 American but I get stopped on the street while wearing.

Strange thing is that at the first look I have colouring very similar to the guest of the episode (before she bleached her hair that is) yet she is a Summer and I'm a Winter (cool). Soft colours make me washed out and I need the strong, vivid ones. I look great in true red, black, white and high contrast so I might even be a True Winter. But because of my light colouring with light brown hair and blue gray eyes almost everyone assumes I need pastels until I actually demonstrate to them how both Winter and Summer palettes look on me.
