    I am not anywhere near being in the top 5% wealth-wise but have been a Glint customer for about 8 months. I am saving and using my Gold as real money. I distrust the fiat system and keep as little as possible in my traditional bank, just enough to cover my direct debits. All my spare money goes straight into my Glint account. I can't believe I am actually able to use Gold as money and hope the company enjoys exponential growth as this brilliant new service resonates with everyday people. I get such a kick out of paying for a beer or my groceries with actual Gold and the vendors have absolutely no idea! I do the same with my Uphold card using Crypto and I even get cashback in XRP when I use it! I'm 66 years old and looking forward to new financial alternatives gaining a bigger foothold. The Banks have been too powerful for too long.

      Good for you! Great minds think alike! I too distrust the fiat money system, and generally only keep enough in the banks to cover debits, as you do. I have a good amount of gold and silver in an account...as well as a couple of PRE - IPO angel investments! Current strategy is to increase gold and silver before it starts to skyrocket. I also do stocks carefully...no great shakes currently, but at least making money in the market using AI softwares. I'm 70 yrs old...having fun😊
      Thank God for knowledge.
      When fiat money fails, people with no gold and silver will be devastated!
      Sad!😢

    I am a Glint account holder and have played around with it a little but have not used it seriously. I’m looking to move most of my money over anticipating the company behind it is solid financially. My biggest question is how can this be scaled to meet the needs of an entire population? There is a finite amount of gold, so I’m having trouble seeing how this is not limited in it’s application.

      It's really quite simple, as more people turn to gold as their currency (demand increases), since the supply can't increase what happens is the exchange rate to other currencies increases. It's not that gold gets more valuable but rather that other currencies get less valuable.

    Oh wow. If I could have my wages paid direct into glint and have my direct debits paid from there that would be perfect! Real money. No banks. YEEESS!

    What is the risk that Mastercard will be bribed or forced in some way to pull the plug once this gets big enough that the central banks want it stopped?

      This seems to be the real threat to Glint! Right now it's too small for them to care. But if it continues to take off and more and more companies attempt to emulate Glint we face the threat of the powers that be trying to shut it down.

    Got me Glint Gold card in April 2023 and I deposited $1,500 into it. Today it's worth $1,466,97. Glint does charge fees including fees for using your card. Understand that this is gold, which moves , changes daily in price.

      There is no fee for using the card for purchases. The only fee is charged by Mastercard to the vendor, not you. Glint only charge you for buying and selling Gold within the app, for ATM withdrawals and for using it outside your home country.

    MANY questions answered via podcast, even though I have been a client for nearly a year, still had many questions. Nothing is guaranteed ESPECIALLY the banking system, FDIC said it would fail 🤦‍♂️ only concerns is Mastercard, but I guess that is only a vehicle for fluidness, so if in physical gold no worries. Anyone vetted the Vault, Glint is using in Switzerland? Thank you for the info, I will use and promote more.

    How about Glint reverse ATMs? There's gold vending machines and reverse ATMs that give you a cc for cash I'd like to go to the store or gas station and deposit cash etc. . .

    Would glint work with Bullion direct (U.K. gold broker) I hold a portion of my pension in gold held by BD

    • @musicologydisco5745
      @musicologydisco5745 Před 7 měsíci

      You won't be able to use a Glint card utilising Bullion direct. You would have to move your Gold to Glint by selling it first then buying again through Glint I'm guessing. You would need to contact Glint directly to ask the question whether a physical transfer is possible from your existing custodian, and ask BD whether it is possible from their end.
