It's weird how you always see John smiling in photos with Cynthia and the other Beatles pre-Yoko, but you rarely see him smiling after Yoko came along.
These are such high quality photos. It’s wonderful to see the young, married Beatles enjoying life with their lovely wives.
Yeah they’re really nice pictures :) But one correction - George and Pattie weren’t married yet. In fact, they had only been dating for a couple months. The fact that George took her on vacation that early in their relationship just really shows how much he liked her already :)

@@69birdboy The only other comparable celebrity would be Elvis. And look how well he handled the craziness. And Lennon put himself out there like no other performer. Not just the risks he took in the studio. His activism put a target on his back that in the end got him killed. And nobody even considers how difficult it would be to live with that.

You're idealizing this whole thing. No relationship is ever perfect, especially at such a young age. John said in his RS interview that he was basically always on some kind of upper or downer, so your speculation of his relationship with Cynthia has no basis.

Two couples who should have stayed together..perfect! Cynthia said everything came undone when the "rot" of drugs came in. Around this time Yoko set her trap, used to sit in front of John and Cyn's house, wrote him love letters and at first John laughed at her and called her a crank...but even then he was entangled into her web. I always thought she reminded him of his mother as they resembled each other in an odd way. The four Beatle girls set the world on fire..Jane, Maureen, Cynthia and Pattie..we all wanted to be them, it was all so exciting. Then Yoko came around and John and the Beatles were history.
Patty Boyd could not have children, so Olivia was the perfect wife for him in his second stage of life. Patty and George were not in love the last time together. Dhani Harrison is the most succesful of all the Beatles children.

Such a big change from here to a couple of years later. It's like they aged 10 years in 2.... no conspiracy posts they are the same people!!! John looks so young and healthy here.
Drugs age people. Though pot is being smoked, the hard drugs are still about a year away. And of course no heroin yet for John, which destroyed him and from which he never fully recovered.
They all look so happy then😢
It's great seeing John, George, Cynthia and Pattie "happy" away from their Beatle lives. Couldn't of been easy but certainly touching as you rarely see both John and Cynthia happy when they're caught in the spotlight. I wonder where Paul , Ringo , Jane and Maureen were during this trip?🤔

Very well said. She mentions in her book that shortly before they separated they had some good moments. He said to her that it was her he loved. Maybe he just was saying to make her feel better or he just wasn't "in love" anymore and he didn't know how else to say it so he felt cheating was the only thing to do. Is it right? no but let's give the guy a break he was human and he made mistakes as he admitted

Desmond Bagley in Cynthia’s book “John”, she states that she thinks the attraction is that Yoko was dominating in the same way his Aunt Mimi was. She said there were a lot of similarities between Yoko and Aunt Mimi.
Paul recently said in an interview here on CZcams that he always liked Cynthia, but she was never strong enough to hold John’s interest for the long haul, and Yoko was.

What Paul says is not true. Cynthia was a strong woman who put the well being of her son first, she would not do drugs like John wanted. So John found Yoko who would, she bought up there son on her own with out any help from John. And went on with her life after John, and look at Julian he is doing well in is life and that's because of is mother.

These picture show John looking puffy and bloated, at a time when he himself considers himself unhealthy and over-weight. Many so called fans show their ignorance at best and possibly their racism at worst calling out Yoko compared to Cyn's stereotypical blond blue eyed complexion. Had nothing to do with such shallow things as looks. Sorry but Cyn was just NOT interesting enough for John, who could have just about anyone he wished...and probably did.
As for drugs I just wonder what Rubber Soul would have sounded like without all the Pot they smoked to say the least of the LSD and Revolver , Sgt. Pepper & Magical Mystery.
