      Impossible. What you're seeing here could not run on a PS1.

      I disagree, there's nothing more complicated here than what was going on in Tomb Raider games at the time.
      Look at Tomb Raider 3 onwards on the PS1 and they're far more intricate than this.

      cool man
      That would make a lot of sense. The footage around 30-50 seconds is feasible for a PS1 title, but the later shots are clearly out of its capabilities.

    • @TheMegaregister
      @TheMegaregister Před 5 lety +4

      @gnysek Před 2 lety

      There's MGS 2 prototype from PSX, but in fact it runs on PC and was only intended to be later optimized for PSX ( czcams.com/video/HTJuWmwEmzc/video.html ), so it's possible that it's same with ICO.

    • @kyler247
      @kyler247 Před 2 lety +3

      If it has affine texture warping, it's ps1 footage. This was a quirk unique to ps1 as it didn't have a z-buffer. The few shots without it are most likely ps2

    Just like Disney's the Haunted Mansion, being a PS1 game repurposed and upgraded for PS2 use must be the reason why PS2 Component out with the game is impossible. Funny, considering the PS2 version of Evil Twin Cyprien's Chronicles DOES work with PS2 Component yet it's older.
