Professor Seyyed Hussein Nasr and Dr. Muzaffar Iqbal discuss the Integrated Encyclopedia of the Qurʾān (IEQ) project and the forthcoming second volume of IEQ.
IEQ draws on a wide range of sources to present articles on all concepts, persons, places, events, and things mentioned in Qurʾān. IEQ taps into scholarship in fields as diverse as classical lexicons, Tafsīrs, Hadith and their commentaries, biographical dictionaries, Prophetic biographies, universal histories, and treatises on spiritual and moral psychology. It integrates source material through a systematic process so that every entry becomes part of an integral whole and conveys its content through the Qurʾānic Weltanschauung.
