    Ferrari drives like NASCAR, the 83 Car takes out the BMW #15, the other Ferraris turns the Toyota #8, and the unsafe release of the winnig Ferrari. Two Ferraris destroys the races of other good Cars and the Penaltys are unbelievable. If Toyota or BMW makes the same actions against the Ferrari, they would become harder penaltys. Ferrari just killing half the field, getting almost no penalty for anything. So it's official: You now can unsafe release into other cars, you can spin your opponent so you trade a 16 second loss for only 5 seconds. Easy stock car Le Mans in the future.
    This race can't be taken serious anymore. Its time is over.

      @7om015 Před 10 dny +13

      @@thesim1990 dude pls do you know how to turn? obviously you have to go back into a straight line after hitting the apex.
      if you ask me toyota turned a bit too close to the apex. on the braking zone they were side by side, toyota lifted the brakes before the ferrari since the latter needed to make a sharper turn hence slower speeds, but the toyota on the other hand needed to make a wider turn knowing very well that ferrari was going to hit the apex since she was on the inside line. if the toyota made the turn just 10 cm more outside and left enought space for the ferrari (he had the space to do so) he would have gotten a better exit and better acceleration since he was in the racing line (hence drier tarmak) so you cant really say it was ferrari fault here mate. it was racing in the wet with a judgment error from n8.
      And dont come to me by saying it was a dive-bomb, because if you want to take a reference just search for any max verstappen overtake (just like abu dhabi 21' las vegas 23' and so on) those are outrageous overtake that needs to penalised heavely not this one.
      i agree at the end for the 5 seconds because in any other racing category it would have been considered a racing incident but here the penalties are far more severe so im ok for 5 second penaly. Also when accounting for an incident you dont need to consider who is involved like front runner etc but the situation itself just like robert kubicca having 30 sec stop and go (it resulted for more then 1 min of penalty btw) even tho the other car had blue flags for almost a lap.

You can't just plow through whoever is in front of you just because you need to hit your "apex". The toyota was being generous and gave a clear inside lane if the ferrari wanted it. • @7om015
      @7om015 Před 10 dny +4

      first of all when accounting an accident you need to consider the accident itself not the consequences (he did lose that much time because of traffic other wise he would have lost 10 seconds total in my opinion). it could have easily avoided if hartley acknowledged the presence of the n51 on the inside. pierguidi was side by side on the breaking zone and was going for the apex so he did hit the breaks earlier then the n8, but if you go rewatch hartley went too close to the apex hence hitting the ferrari that should already been acknowledged by brendon to be there. if he did leave even 5 cm more he would have taken the drier line and he would have gotten a better exit. I personally would have deemed the accident to be a racing one. Anything more then 5 seconds would have been a way to punish based on consequences and not for the action itself (if you want to think like that then kubica wouldnt have been penalised since he was leading and the bmw was a blue flagged car and was beeing a dick to the 83 by cutting chicanes, you could argue that he got what he was searching for...).
      For the "unsafe" release i would argue that the ferrari didnt imped the other car and, indeed, did let the other car pass safely and didnt cut his line but he stayed behind, the other one did brake when she saw the ferrari but even if she didnt nothing "unsafe" would have happened, it was her call to brake and lose time even if it wasnt needed (even with an unsafe release he would have gotten 10 sec time pen and he still would have won).

    People are drawing conclusions from onboard footages without having the telemetry and discounting the wet conditions as always. Furthermore, once I heard FIA to state that penalties are not handed out according to the resulting conditions of the incidents. They are handed out according to the causing action. #8 car losing too much time doesn't affect the severity of the punishment. If one car crashes into another and the hitted car is out, what should they supposed to do? disqualify the hitting car immediately? This is motor racing. There are unnumberred unfair situations and unlucky moments. Sometimes you caught out with things that are out of your control like red flags, slow zones, safety cars and racing incidents etc. These things happened in the past and they'll continue to happen in the future. It's part of racing.

      @@Dantorious well to be fair the n8 did cut the inside line while turning for the apex, they were both side by side on the breaking zone and by the rules of racing at that point the inside car must take the inside line and the outside the external one. hartley should have known that pierguidi was going to hit the apex and if you rewatch the onboard of the car n8 you could see that he went too close to the apex hence cutting the inside line and hitting the 51. It was anything but a racing accident and i personally think that 5 seconds where a bit too much for such an action.
      For the fact of the door it's just up to the race direction to notice it and it was bit difficoult to do so, i only noticed couple of seconds before the direction did and they immediatelly went to call him in as he did. it looks like a lot of laps passed before they gave the warning or he reentered but in reality it all happen in 1 lap or 2 max, it takes 4 min to complete a lap in those conditions so i highly doubt that 16 min passed with the open door.
