    Hey! My Tahoe will only open if I fight it. I hear the motor running that opens and closes the gate. Once I have it open and hit the button to close it it won’t close either. Would the actuator you showed cause the door not to close automatically if it’s bad? I’m not sure if it’s my latch or the actual motor for the gate that’s bad.
    Would yours close with the button up top once you had it open before changing out the part?

    What's up, just wanted you to know that I was able to get those 2 spark plugs out. Now, I am changing my water pump. Since I have everything exposed, I am replacing the belt tensioner, engine belt, and idle pulley. The thermostat, is still good. But, debating if I should just put a new one in the van, now. You know, those radiator hoses can be stubborn to get off. I have those 2 small hoses to take off the water pump, and I will be able to finish the job. Question, on your van, does your power steering dipstick, have a hot/cold, fill level? If so, if the power steering fluid is at the cold level, does that mean it's low on power steering fluid?

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't believe there's a hot and cold fill level. It's an hydraulic fluid. It will only be low or partially full. If it's low, then you have a potential leak somewhere. I wouldn't worry about the power steering fluid unless you are getting a whining noise in which will indicate low fluid. I also wouldn't worry about the thernostat. They rarely go bad. But, it's up to you. Great job on all the work you have done!

    • @conradsuddarth632
      @conradsuddarth632 Před 2 lety +1

      @@TerenceDIY Well yeah, I just checked the thermostat, it's still good. The Ac belt still good, and my engine belt good, for the most part. But, will buy both belts, to have in reserve. But, far as the power steering, I have a hot/cold, dip stick. So, just was wondering if it suppose to be filled up to the hot, or cold line? I have a 2008, Chevy Express.

    • @TerenceDIY
      @TerenceDIY  Před 2 lety

      @@conradsuddarth632 , I apologize. There is a hot and cold line on your van (same year as mine). Check it when the vehicle cools off. It should be at the cold line and vice versa when the van is hot it should be at the hot line.

      @@TerenceDIY , ok cool. Hey, I was able to replace, the water pump. Thank God, for guiding me through it. But, getting those radiator hoses off was something terrible. So, I am making sure everying is up to date, because I do not want to go back under that no time soon, after all this. SMH. However, I'm glad I was able to do the maintence myself & learned from you, along with a few other people, on CZcams. I saved myself probably $2500- $3000, on labor fees. Only spent $600 on all my parts, & put the work in myself. Car shops in Detroit, be trying to hit your pockets, big time. I ask a guy how much he would charge me to change my spark plugs & wires, he said $400. So, did everything myself. Hope ya had a good day, though.

      @TerenceDIY  Před rokem +1

      @@elismith798 , there's actually a few youtube videos that show how to open it manually (that's why I didn't make one). There's a small circle on the interior section on that hatch. The circle is located in the vicinity of the latch. You have to take a small drill bit and make a very small incision, just big enough to insert a long thing screwdriver to push the latch in which will open with ease afterwards.
